Big Valley Cabin provided an excellent venue for our extended family getaway. The kitchen, living room, and recreation areas are spacious for group activities. But, with sleeping spread across three floors and above the garage there is also enough privacy when someone needs to get away from the group for a bit. The hiking trail behind the property leads to a beautiful overlook, and the firepit is perfect for smores with the little ones. The kitchen is very well stocked - there are no shortages of utensils, plates, bowls, or cooking pans.We highly recommend this for your next group getaway!

Cabin was perfect for our family getaway. Plenty of room and activities to keep 3 generations comfortable and happy. House was clean and well stocked. Enjoyed the hot tub and seeing deer from the back deck. You can tell hosts want their guests to enjoy their stay and were easy to communicate with. Plenty to do nearby in the community. Highly recommend!

Property is very clean, beds are comfortable, kitchen has everything you need.Beautiful home away from home. Owners were very quick to respond when we had a minor issue with gaining access to the home. Would definitely return in the future!

We stayed at Big Valley Cabin for New Years Eve and had an amazing time. The cabin is super cozy and in a great spot. We enjoyed the firepit, hike, board games and kitchen space. The rooms were super comfy and the hot tub is an awesome add as well! We had a few issues getting the locks to work at check-in, but Kathryn and Dave were super responsive and helpful to resolve the issue. Thanks for a great stay!

We had a week long stay here and really enjoyed the spacious home that allowed our group of 16 to stay under one roof. We picked this home for its amenities also. The pool table, hot tub and fire pit were very nice. The home had everything that you don't want to pile in your car for small children and the kitchen had all one needs plus extra fridges in key locations. The hiking, walking and abundant wildlife was a plus. We recommend this property as well as massanutten in general. If there were a downside, it would be the steep hill to enter the parking area. There were around eight parking spaces but the initial climb from the street is not for every vehicle.

We really enjoyed our stay and found that the property truly lived up to the description and photos. Clean, comfortable and well equipped. Most evenings we made dinner in the well stocked kitchen and made good use of the hot tub, fire pit and game room. Our group takes a week long trip each year to different parts of the country and should we return to the Shenandoah valley we will definitely re-book.

Great Spot for Family Reunion

This house is located within Massanutten making it easy to access the waterpark and other amenities. The house is clean and very well stocked with anything you might need to make your stay enjoyable. We were there in summer, so can't comment on winter activities, but I imagine it would be great for that as well. We had 3 generations (from a 1.5 year old through grandparents) and all found things to do and enjoyed our time at the house.

2025 Superbowl

Beautiful, spacious, and very accommodating. Family and friends gathered for a weekend of tubing and skiing, ending with the Superbowl. Very clean. We had a great time.

Cozy Log cabin

This property was so beautiful and cozy it makes you feel right at home. The kitchen had every appliance needed to make food for each meal. We played pool, pac man and put together a puzzle. We relaxed in the jacuzzi and went hiking and made a bon fire! My family of 10 made great memories in this place!

Great JMU Graduation Getaway

My family had a blast in this great Mountain House to celebrate 2 graduations and a birthday with family and friends. The space was fantastic for gathering a large group of people and we had everything we could ask for from the well stocked kitchen to the fire pit to the hot tub. We will definitely stay here again when my son graduates from JMU and might see if we can get it for a football game or two. Kathryn is the best owner. Extremely responsive to all your questions and needs. A.

Something for everyone!

We were 11 adults and 5 kids and everyone had a fantastic time. We took full advantage of this great cabin…played pool, soaked in the hot tub, made great meals, drank coffee on the deck, grilled dinner on the deck, enjoyed drinks around the firepit, watched kids movies, and enjoyed each other in the beautiful setting. The Massanutten area had something to offer everyone, too. A group of adults went to the vineyard, while others did a more arduous hike and those with kids did a lighter hike followed by an afternoon at the (seasonal) pool. The kitchen is incredibly well stocked with pots/pans/utensils and an easy space to work in. We only had one question for the owners and they responded immediately by text. Overall, a 10/10 experience.

Magical Weekend in the Mountains!!

We planned this get together to celebrate Christmas (a second time with additional family members who were not able to attend on Christmas Day!!)From the minute we arrived, it was magical!!The beautiful house still had the decorated Christmas tree in the main family room!! The snow began hours after we all safely arrived and continued through the night!! We were snowed in!!I had brought many crafts/games, so we enjoyed spending time at the house making fleece blankets, decorating cookies, etc.The house was ample for everyone to have privacy but also a beautiful large family/dining room to gather together.The owner was very responsive and took care of ensuring the driveway was cleared by the day we were departing.We are all hoping this can become a tradition!! So many memories were made:)

Great, open layout with plenty of space for gathering, and still private spaces to get away. We spent 4 nights with 9 adults and 4 children and had room for all in bedrooms, bathrooms, and dining areas. The cabin is near everything and just over a half hour from Luray. The hot tub was a nice touch and the propane fire pit made smores quick and easy. The driveway is extremely steep so an SUV is required to get up to the garage area, but there is parking for one or maybe two cars on the street; my son's Toyota Seneca Minivan would not make the grade without vary aggressive scraping so he parked there and used the lower level door to get luggage in and out. All in all. I would recommend it to anyone who does not have any serious mobility issues (lots of steps, slopes, rocks, etc.). One last note; the only outdoor play area for kids is the flat part of the driveway behind the cabin, so if you're looking for a large yard, this is not for you...
