4200sq/ft 6 bedroom, 2 half baths, 2 spacious full baths and outdoor shower, contemporary Farmhouse. On 9 acres with walking trails and short walk to association beach, beach passes included. Located in the heart of Lakeside, Harbor Country. Perfect for family reu.


This is an owner managed property. July and August available for weekly rentals Sunday to Sunday only.. All other dates 3 day minimum. Open style vacation house. Living/dining, and gourmet kitchen with fully equipped, pantry, Garland 6 burner industrial stove .Loved by gourmet cooks and spacious for a large crowd. Table with seating for 12 and nearby kitchen island seating an additional 5.
BBQ on deck with outside dining. Perfect for entertaining, large and small gatherings. Separate comfy TV room, located in air conditioned bedroom wing. Screened in porch, hot tub, fenced in yard area for pets.

House sleeps 14, has 6 bedrooms total, Two very large bathrooms, two half baths, one enclosed private outdoor shower.

Bedrooms are divided this way... upper level 2 bedrooms, one queen the other king (this room has a small balcony), Large shared bathroom with large walk in shower. Both bed rooms are air-conditioned.

First floor bedroom wing has four bedrooms, One king bed, two queen beds and one with double bunkbeds. one very large bathroom with big walk in shower and an additional half bath, all bedrooms have their own door opening up to shared deck that has an enclosed outdoor shower, screened in porch and hot tub.

It is a really fun layout for a large group of people!

Association beach is a short 5-10 min walk to Lake Michigan and requires a gate pass. 2 gate passes included

Few items to take note:
Property is located over private railroad crossing, typically 2 Amtraks and a freight train or two will pass a day. Caution needs to be taken when crossing by looking both ways always.

There is central air in the bedroom wing and window units in the 2 bedrooms in main house. The living room and kitchen have no air conditioning. there are 3 ceiling fans and cross breeze screened doors to decks.

Kitchen is equipped with a Garland industrial stove, walk in pantry, lots of counter space, its a large fun kitchen to cook in.

Outside property has a fire pit, and 9 acres of trails to enjoy through the woods. Part of the front yard is fenced in for pets.

July and August are only available for full week rentals, Sunday to Sunday. 3 nights minimum any other dates.

House has heated floors for winter and fall retreats. Yoga retreats being offered several weekends through out

Beautiful Farmhouse Close to the Beach

We absolutely loved our stay at this beautiful farmhouse just walking distance to a beautiful private association beach. We enjoyed Fourth of July here with friends and everyoneā€™s stay was comfortable. This home has many bedrooms, several bathrooms and a wonderful kitchen for cooking and gathering. Our kids enjoyed checking on the chickens, gathering eggs and feeding them every day. I have spent every Summer of my life in Michigan and I can truly attest this is a special property, kept with love and care by the owners who were also incredibly easy to work with, lovely and welcoming.

Beautiful home

Our extended family of 13 felt right at home in this spacious and comfortable home. Every bed was made for a great nightā€™s sleep, the kitchen and dining room hosted all of our homemade meals, and we truly felt like guests in the home of a friend. We rented bikes and a Maui mat, walked to the beach every day and again in the evenings. From the youngest toddler to the oldest grandpa, each of us had a memorable family vacation!

Beautiful Home in Lakeside

We loved our stay at this unique home in Lakeside. The house was great, plenty of room for our family, private setting with amazing outdoor areas to enjoy. The location was perfect, close to New Buffalo, Three Oaks, wineries and a short walk to the beach. The owners were helpful and had easy check in & out. Will definitely book again!

Amazing lake house!!

We had an absolutely wonderful time at this property! It was gorgeous, spacious, and extremely well equipped! We loved all the common areas inside and outside! We had fun feeding the chickens and relaxing by the fire pit. The kitchen was so well stocked, and really fun to cook in with our friends! The walk to the lake was quick and easy and the beach was amazing!! We loved everything about this house and hope to come back again!!

Wonderful house and location

The house was clean and spacious. It has everything you need for cooking, games and books for kids and adults, and access to the beach was just a 10 minute walk away. There was a wagon to use to bring stuff to the beach, and a lot of beach chairs to use. The fenced in area was great for the kids and our dog. The hiking trails were nice too. So much space for everyone and everything we needed. Totally recommend.

Wonderful vacation

Our group of 11 (adults and kids) had a great family vacation at this property. It was exceptionally well equipped with cooking supplies, towels, toys, and items for the beach. The layout of the house is perfect for a large group. We hope to return next summer!

Great house and grounds!

Perfect stay, but the great rooms and kitchen had no AC. The weather cooperated though, and the fans sufficed. Vrbo advertises 4.5 bathrooms, but we counted just 2 full and 2 half. Perhaps there were more in the basement? Private beach is only a 1/2 mile walk. The kids loved the chickens!

Beautiful home on beautiful property

We could not have had a better girls weekend than our stay this year at Majorlein's Orchard Beach Farmhouse. We have been going to this area of Michigan for 20+ years for our girls getaway and this was the best place we have stayed. Plenty of space, tastefully decorated, fabulous kitchen, gorgeous property with peak fall colors and trails for us to wonder through. Close to all the places we usually go to on our weekends. The perfect weekend getaway

I cannot say enough GREAT THINGS about our stay here!! The hosts were super accommodating and responsive for anything we needed! This house is one of a kind. You could easily spend an hour walking around the place looking at the amazing details. I wanted a weekend getaway to celebrate my birthday with friends and this was everything we wanted/needed and more. It was hard to leave this amazing place! Super close to the beach/Lake Michigan. Spacious, gracious, beautiful, comfy

This place is wonderful! It was perfect for our group, with big, airy central kitchen and dining areas, and lots of hidden living rooms with comfy furniture so people could get away to secluded areas for work or rest. The kitchen is well-appointed and well-designed for cooks. Bedrooms are quite spacious, with comfy beds. Set in a beautiful woodland, we felt surrounded by greenery and songbirds. The Lake Michigan beach is a short walk away. Outdoor spaces for humans and dogs are great.

Getaway and get inspired

The perfect place to gather with our adult children and their partners to relax, catch up, and recharge. First the space is aesthetically beautiful with quality beds and bedding, art, books, and color. Music. Game playing. Cooking together. Plenty of spots yo read to read or have wine play for home sing songs. Close to so many things to do -at beaches. Three oaks. New buff. St Joseph. Marjolein was responsive and generous! Dogs came too! Daily Bike rides along lakeside to new buff was the highlight. A wonderful time. Ps Luisaā€™s bakery! Brewsterā€™s Italian. Bentwood tavern. All great.

Great Little Getaway

Our group had an amazing time in the house; there was nothing we could have wanted that we didn't have! The kitchen is amazing, there is a ton of space to spread out and enjoy yourselves. We really appreciated the fenced in side yard for our small dog, and the owners were so gracious in letting us bring him. The walk to the beach is a tad farther than you think, but not too far at all. We look forward to staying again, and would love to spend time in this town in the summer! I bet it's bustling :)

Charming and eclectic and room to spread out

We are an extended family group of 6 adults and 4 children. The Orchard Beach House had something for everyone and lots of nooks and crannies to occupy for together and alone time. The furnishings and decorations are fascinating with lots of games and books to fill in the times between the beach, exploring the area and playing or relaxing in the yard. The grandkids loved the saucer swing in the side yard and we all loved the fire pit, watching the deer and the excitement of the trains. A good time was had by all.

Perfect Family Holiday

We had the most lovely holiday with 9 adults and 3 kids plus visiting cousins. The space is amazing and spacious, kitchen is fully equipped for a to prepare a big meal. Everything has been thought of -- from an extra large fridge, extra coffee carafes, extra seating, games, blankets, separate seating areas to spread out, etc. The house is very quiet -- you can have kids sleeping in the 4 bedroom wing, while others are still up in the main living space. The property has a lovely trail and the fenced in yard was great. The home is gorgeous, and close to all the fun of New Buffalo/ Union Pier, etc. The hosts are responsive and friendly! I hope we can come back soon. Highly recommend!

Extended Family Fun

We recently returned from a great stay at the property. We had several generations of our family all in once place. The house was immaculate, spacious, and well stocked. The grounds were beautiful and very private. We loved making meals at the home and playing wiffle ball in the back yard. A few things that you need to be comfortable withā€¦ 1. The house does get some road noise from the highway which is close by. If you are outside or have the windows open you will hear it. 2. Make sure you bring tic spray as they are prevalent in the woods. In all, we made amazing memories at this home and would come back again.

Magnificent home, quiet location (with the occasional train!)

This house is delightful, with several areas for people to congregate in or retire to. The deck/porch configuration is quite lovely (we particularly enjoyed dining outside), and the outdoor spaces (firepit, garden, trails in the woods) were all pleasant diversions during our stay. The walk to the water is a few minutes, but it's a straight shot, and the beach itself is great. Our two families were down there every day, sometimes twice a day. The trains are a trip. You'll notice them, but we didn't find them disrupting at all, and quite fun to watch pass by. Finally, you're only a short drive from all sorts of neat places (Sawyer, New Buffalo, Three Oaks); we found several great restaurants (Greenbush Brewing Co., for one) and some antique shops. And the Warren Woods preserve was a nice hike one morning. We couldn't have enjoyed it more!

Wonderful stay!

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this lovely vacation home with my family, and I must say, it exceeded all our expectations. From the moment we stepped foot inside, we were greeted by a sense of space and airiness that made us feel instantly relaxed and at ease. The grounds surrounding the home were nothing short of incredible. The pictures we saw beforehand simply didn't do it justice. One of the aspects that impressed us was the impeccable cleanliness and decor of the home. Incredible stocked kitchen!! It was evident that great care had been taken to maintain the property to the highest standards. he accessibility of the home was also a key highlight, as it proved to be ideal for our older parents with limited mobility. They were able to navigate the property comfortably and without any hassle. We were fortunate enough to celebrate our parents' 50th wedding anniversary and enjoy a mini family reunion during our stay. Thanks to the home's spaciousness and thoughtful layout, everyone had their own private space and cozy rooms. The bathrooms were also designed to accommodate different needs, further adding to the convenience and comfort of our stay. While the beach was not directly adjacent to the property, it was just a short walk away. It's worth noting that the beach access has 60 stairs. Lastly, I must commend the graciousness of the property owners. They were incredibly accommodating .Their warm hospitality made our stay even more memorable and enjoyable.

Michigan memories for 3 generations

Just returning from a relaxing vacation in Lakeside MI. We had a party of 9 adults/5 children. I must say we were enchanted by this property from the moment we pulled into the drive. It is thoughtfully and creatively laid out. There is a unique surprise around every corner. I found myself upon check in gleefully running from room to room. The areas to enjoy the outside are numerous. There is a spacious deck where the kids enjoyed nightly bubble blowing. The property is so large that you donā€™t need to worry that the giggling and gleeful shrieks of delight will bother any neighbors. While setting up a room in the wing for my Mother in law, I casually looked out the window and excitedly flung open the door to reveal the most quaint screened in porch I have ever seen, with 3 large slip covered couches to relax in. I didnā€™t realize it was there before booking. Exit the porch to the hot tub and outside shower and follow the deck past the 3 doors that allow access to the guest rooms on that side. There is a terrific patio set up and we all could eat dinner comfortably outside at the double tables or inside at the spacious dining tables. While I am reviewing the outside, there is a fenced in section with a swing that the kids enjoyed and a fire pit gathering area. The front porch has a swing bench to enjoy the scenery. Yes there is a train that passes by. I truly only heard the late night train once, possibly because we slept in the 2nd floor bedroom that has windows to that side of the house. But the utter excitement and joy when the kids heard the train coming, and as other reviewers have mentioned, yelled ā€œtrainā€ and we ran to the front porch to watch it go by. It got so that they were disappointed if it were a short commuter Amtrak train. It was so much fun and worth any minor disruption. The private beach is a 10 minute walk away and you do have to navigate some stairs to get to it, but it was lovely and the water brisk, but that didnā€™t bother us any. Most times we just dropped off at the street and chose a time for pick up, which worked out just fine. Know you may not have cell service while on the beach and plan your communications accordingly. We also went to the public beach in New Buffalo. Which had parking, 7.50 for 3 hours, decking most of the way to the beach and lifeguards. But the kids all liked the association beach better. Our hosts Marjolein and Scott weā€™re very helpful and communication was a breeze. We would return in a heartbeat.

We have vacationed with our family in this area for about 10 years. This house fits us best. It has great community space but also has nooks and cranies for quiet time. Our youngest was 3 years old and the oldest was 77 with several in between. We hope to come back!

A Perfect Home for Us

This is the best rental house weā€™ve ever had, as well as wonderful communication and support from the owners. The house is quite large with a really great layout that allowed for different places for hanging out at the same time. Itā€™s full of character, warmth, attention to design and gorgeous art. The kitchen, yard, and deck were amazing. All 11 of us ate meals around the outdoor table. The kids loved the trails to the woods and low water. The road and train were a bit loud but we just closed the windows at night and it was no problem. The walk to the beach is just 5-10 mins and the beach is beautiful and pretty much empty. We went to the beach in town, to local restaurants and breweries, to two different nearby dunes, as well as a hikes in nearby parks. It was a great stay!
