Great Weekend Stay

This property is as advertised. The best part is having 4 different full cabins for a retreat from the larger group if needed.

Thank you for the review! Yes, the set up of 4 individual cottages on one large plot of land is ideal for larger groups. Everyone gets their own space yet plenty of great spots to hang out as a group (such as the new large deck off the main house!). We look forward to your return next season!

Shabby chic, quaint older cabins

We had a wonderful stay at this multi family unit. Four separate units, each providing everything necessary for a comfortable stay. These are older units which have a shabby chic feel. The large outdoor space was perfect for the kids wiffle ball games, plus fun yard games provided. A beautiful deck where we grilled our dinners, and a huge patio in the back where we had fires every night. A beautiful beach just a two mile drive, restaurants, wineries and breweries within a 15 minute drive. The only reason for the 3 rating was a strong cat urine smell in the kitchen of the larger unit, low shower pressure in the separate unit and ac issues in one of the units. Luckily, we had great weather without any extreme heat. I did make the property owner aware of these. Other than that we enjoyed our stay.

Thank you for the detailed feedback! We are very glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us overall. And yes, most definitely, we appreciate the feedback on ways to improve. In regards to the 'urine' smell, we found the culprit of the smell underneath the refrigerator, removed and disposed of it. It was not urine, rather old food. Shower pressure in D is now repaired and improved. AC in C is also working properly. These are all items that we offered to come by the first day and/or the first morning to look at as well. We sincerely hope that you enjoyed the rest of your stay and found overall value in the property with the ability to host a large group affordably and comfortably.

Convenient Location - Great Back Patio

We gathered family in southwest Michigan for a convenient and easy-to-get to place from all originating destinations. Drew was fantastic to work with - extremely helpful and responsive. The property was in a very convenient location - with some nice "local" beaches within less than 2 miles up or down the coast and St. Joe only about 20 min away. The cottages themselves are a little dated, and if renting out all 4 cottages, it's important to note that there is no inside space big enough to hold the whole group - for a meal or just for hang out time or games. The back patio and the deck are both very nice - each better at different times of the day depending on the heat of the sun. It was unseasonably warm in Michigan when we were there, but the units each have air conditioning that work quite well in the room in which they are set. This helped a lot. The biggest challenge was that the night it rained, each cabin had to call it an "early" night, as there was not a place we could all conveniently gather. As long as groups are ok separating in a similar weather event, this place can accommodate. One other note - the room with the 4 twin beds is upstairs, with VERY slanted ceilings. This is fine for littles, but for our 20 something year old kids, they had to be very careful not to knock themselves out.

Thank you for the helpful and detailed review! It sounds like you were able to make the most of the property during your stay as well as enjoy everything the local area has to offer. Given your positive feedback, I am a bit surprised by the 'ony' 3 star review? We strive to have the value of the property match the amenities we are able to provide. For the cost of rouighly single hotel room per night in the area to sleep 16 people is quite an affordable value, especially given all of the updates in the property that have been made (e.g. huge front deck, huge back patio, etc). One other idea if it rains with a large group would be to walk over to DiMaggio's and get a space there to continue the conversation. We hope to have the opportunity to host your group again in the future!

The host was easy to communicate with and open and honest about the property. It was clean and homey, just the kind of character I like with a very rustic feel. An older home and you can tell. But obvious that upgrades have been made and was a great space for a multi-family vacation.
