Amore Loft Apartment Located in Heart of Love City St. John

The oversized king bedroom suite has a king bed with handcrafted built-in mahogany closet with sitting area. The open living room floor plan offers a sitting area with TV/Cable & DVD player and dining table for four. Italian travertine stone tile floor throughout with travertine stone countertops and sinks. Wireless Internet and CD player also available.
Affordability meets luxury in this town loft suite just steps to the restaurants, bars, dive shops and shopping of Cruz Bay located on the upper level of the Amore Center. A fully equipped gourmet kitchen with handcrafted cabinets awaits you - or just stroll to breakfast steps to the left at Tamarind Court or Baked in the Sun, grocery shop on the corner at Dolphin Market, enjoy fine dining at La Tapa or happy hour at Woody's. All a stone's throw away. Taxi to the beach or ask us about rental vehicles which we also have available on site.

Artistically decorated with ceramic sconces made in our Studio below, Italian plastered walls & colorfully decorated with artwork from travels around the world, this is the perfect spot for a quick weekend get-away or an affordable extended winter retreat! All the luxury of one of our finest villas in an economical, yet stylish, in-town location.

You will find all the basic necessities needed to make your vacation complete including air conditioning thru out, ceiling fans, blow dryer, a full complete kitchen outfitted with dishwasher, blender, microwave and coffee maker. Beach chairs, beach towels, and a cooler for your day at the beach are also provided.

Below the apartment is our pottery studio, the Donald Schnell Studio, where we can offer you guidance on snorkeling, dining & other island activities if you so require.

Nice place

Clean, nicely decorated, convenient location. Sleeps two comfortably, but not ideal for more than two. Donald and his staff were helpful and available at all times. We enjoyed our stay. Thank you!

Beyond Perfect

Everything was absolutely perfect! The unit is close to everything, nicely decorated, very clean, and very well stocked. Donald and Deborah are lovely hosts and provided everything we needed for our vacation including beach towels and chairs, snorkel gear, filtered water, etc. We will definitely be back and wouldn’t rent anywhere else on St. John!!

Centrally located in the heart of Cruz Bay

Our villa/apartment was just as it appeared on the VRBO website, it was perfect for the two of us. The owner made it a point to make sure that we were pleased and had everything that we needed. The apartment also was decorated with many of his beautiful pieces from his studio which is onsite. Having traveled to St John for over 20 years, we are happy to submit this recommendation for Amore Loft Apartment and an outstanding host.

Great Location and Owner

Don met us at the Cruz Bay pier and helped us carry our luggage up to the Apartment on his day off. He is gracious and fascinating. A great guy. The apartment is well located near town and restaurants. It is well equipped with good air conditioning. You could get away without a Jeep rental by a short walk to taxis, but it is nice to have one to go to beaches further out.

Artistic Loft Apartment

Not only is St John a beautiful island but our stay at Amore Loft Apartment was exceptional. Donald, who is absolutely delightful, greeted us at the ferry dock, showed us to our apartment, took us through his art studio, and invited us for a glass of champagne. The apartment was inviting and spacious with an artistic flair. It had a full kitchen, a washer and dryer, and a very comfortable bed. The location is perfect, walking distance to ferry dock, restaurants, grocery store and bank. It is in the middle of everything with accessibility to taxis and buses. When we return to St. John we will definitely stay there again.

AMAZING HONEYMOON made better by AMAZING HOSTS!

1. The location for the amore loft is so close to Cruz bay and such a convenient place to stay. 2. Donald and Deborah Schnell took amazing care of us beginning by picking us up from the ferry, then got us great reservations at a wonderful restaurant, kept us supplied with plenty of purified water that tasted delightful after long days at the beach, they really went above and beyond in making our stay in St John just an amazing experience. And provided us a unique/once in a lifetime experience 😀👏🍷 3. The room is fantastic: clean, private, close proximity to various points if interest. 4. The beaches in St John are the most amazing!!! Thank you Deborah and Donald!!!!!

St. John Amore Loft

We loved our stay. Donald was an excellent host. He even offered to pick us up from the Ferry. We declined because his offer because the unit was so close to the ferry and everything else in Cruz Bay, including a grocery store across the street. We walked everywhere including to Salomon and Honeymoon Beaches. When we did take a taxi to hit other beaches, we were just a short walk to get a taxi. We loved the unit. It was so comfortable and was so unique with Donald's craftsmanship on display. The air-conditioning units were powerful and even though the island had power outages, no so here because Donald supplies his own power via solar panels and battery backup. I would highly recommend this unit to everyone.

Beautiful apartment, Awesome location!

This was our first time staying at the Amore loft apartment. All of the thought and detail that went into this apartment and the building is nothing short of amazing. Donald is quite the artist and his touch is everywhere to be seen. From the bottles and glass incorporated into all of the stonework to the travertine ceiling everywhere you looked was a feast for the eyes. The apartment was very comfortable and well equipped with everything you could need for your island stay including a washer and dryer which was very convenient. The location is about as good as it gets in Cruz Bay with a large well stocked grocery store across the street and easy walking distance to all of the best restaurants and easy access to the island cabs and they even have on site jeep rental. All of the staff was great and check in and check out was all easy peazy. As others have mentioned Donald is the consummate host and we spent a couple of nights up in his man cave sharing stories and of course some really good wine and champagne. Donald even helped me up my champagne game and showed me how to saber champagne! It was one of the highlights of our trip to meet Donald and we definitely will see him again as we travel the caribbean since St John is one of our favorites and is always on our short list on any given year. The apartment is a great value and we would definitely stay again. Also, we couldn't help but notice after staying there that Donald's handiwork is all over the island. As we went around we could see his handiwork on many residences and businesses . We ordered some work from him and look forward to receiving it. Anyway, my wife and I can't recommend Amore enough; simply a great place, great location, great host, and very reasonable pricing.

Felt like home

this property is in an excellent location - close to town, but decorated in a way that feels secluded and private. it is an incredible value - and one of the few places in town that feels comfortable and friendly, yet elegant.

We Loved Amore!

We absolutely loved our stay at the Amore Loft Apartment! Donald was a great host and went above and beyond for us! He checked us in and explained some logistical items to us, then we were invited for wine and champagne later that night (thanks for teaching me how to hold a champagne glass, Donald)! The apartment itself is very well put together. It is clear that there was a lot of thought put into the building as a whole (which features many different works of art that Donald has incorporated). Donald was even so kind as to give us a parting gift. The apartment is an easy walk to Cruz Bay shops and restaurants and a manageable hike to some close beaches. We would definitely stay here again! Cheers!

Great location, plenty of space

We really enjoyed our recent stay and loved the close proximity to restaurants, bars and shopping. There is a grocery store steps away, and it is an easy walk from the ferry dock. We had great accommodations with plenty of room to relax. It was very clean (yay! - a big thanks to Marcella) and we had a full kitchen, large shower, a king sized bed in a large bedroom with plenty of closet space, and a washer and dryer. Two a/c units and lots of ceiling fans made it very comfortable and we would definitely stay here again. Donald and Debbie are great hosts, we appreciate all the extras.

Loved this place. Perfect location, adorable place, cute details, great amenities.

We stayed at the loft for 5 days and loved our experience. Don and Debbie thought of everything and were super kind and helpful. The loft is very cute and conveniently located close to everything in town, easy walk to downtown, market, etc. we can’t wait to go back.

A Gem!

We found this property on vrbo and knew exactly where it was located and knew it would be perfect for us. We checked in and Donald personally showed us our apartment. It was clean, spacious and had everything we would need - and more. It was beautifully decorated (the pictures on here don't do the place justice!) with pieces made by Donald in his studio below - sconces, bowls, etc. The bathroom is lovely; a huge shower reminiscent of the island with beautiful stonework. The location is perfect. We walked to dinner and happy hour every night. We also walked to Solomon Beach. We did rent a jeep from the on-site rental company so we could drive to other beaches and your the island. The best part of staying at Amore is Donald. He made us feel so welcome and we truly feel we have a friend in him. He was so welcoming, and we spent an evening drinking wine and talking with him upstairs. He is so fascinating and truly a remarkable artist. He can offer advice on where to eat, beaches, and anything else you may want to know about St John. We loved this apartment and will absolutely be staying on Amore property again. I simply cannot say enough positive remarks about Donald or Amore!
