This is an exceptional place to stay with an outstanding, thinks-of-everything host. It is pure, all-day pleasure to enjoy the spectacular view of the Sound and boating around the nearby marina.

The view was amazing and that is something to consider in the review and the home was clean. We were very surprised by the exterior of the home and the ceiling in the living room was concerning as well. Upstairs windows are a little dangerous some glass was not even connected to the frame. One of the railings on the outside deck is also very loose.We never did meet the host(s) but we had a couple of dogs that visited frequently and they are very sweet.The kitchen is well stocked (like everyone else says) and that is a plus. I think our disappointment was that the pictures on the website are not current. This home needs some TCL before it gets any worse. All this being said, we had a great time on the island.

We loved the kitchen and family room area. Super easy to cook dinners as everything we needed was available.The grill worked perfectly as well.

Family get together

House was nice and roomy, I’m a cook and we like to feed people the kitchen lacked cooking and serving items. The owners were friendly and easy to get a hold of and helpful. Many times who you are with is more valuable than were you are.

The right house at the right time for our family of 5. Perfect weather (late June to early July), peaceful setting with stunning views of the harbor. Rustic charm combined with modernized kitchen, hot tub, barbecue, campfire pit for smores and stargazing time. Memorable meals on the deck for breakfast and dinner, rewarding walks up to the wetland preserve and beyond, and lots of fun with the dogs in residence, Sunny and Shep. Owner Meg was quick to help with a minor issue, and enjoyable to get to know as a long-time island resident. Quiet westside of the island was a nice place to escape to after long days kayaking and hiking around the center of the island. We were even treated to a Patsy Cline tribute concert from the Deer Harbor pier echoing across to our back porch. A magical time in a magical place!

Good for families with younger children

We enjoyed our stay at Maggie’s Manor. Our kids ESPECIALLY loved playing with the owner’s pets at the little playground on the hill. The yard and garden were beautiful. The view was amazing (we watched several propeller planes passing). The hot tub was BIG and we could see the water and the boats (and several hawks) while lounging. The owners were extremely nice and easy to reach (we ended up chatting with them in the morning while the kids played with the dogs). They were also very responsive. The location is on the quieter side with not much to walk to. There is no beach access. But driving on Orcas is beautiful and Eastsound can be reached in an easy 20 min drive. The house is older and quaint, but everything works. For us the house and location worked especially well because we are a family with 3 very loud active children, and they were able to be loud and active without us feeling like we needed to “shush” them for neighbors.

Charming with a beautiful view

There’s a lot to recommend about this property. It’s in a gorgeous setting, there’s a wonderful hot tub, the kitchen was well stocked, and two dogs who came by were friendly and adorable.There are some issues, however, that I feel need to be mentioned. The driveway is very steep and difficult to navigate. Better signage and outdoor lighting would be helpful as well. The refrigerator and freezer did not get very cold. We could only get two of the burners on the cooktop to work consistently. There’s a hole in the bathroom floor. The chairs for both dining room tables, while very rustic and cool, were super heavy and uncomfortable. We had some issues with the grill and it was not hot enough to grill effectively. The owners came by and brought us some items and regaled us with some lovely stories. They are very nice people and were very prompt in responding.Would we return? Probably not but there’s a lot of charm in this property.

Pros: The owners were very responsive when I contacted them any time before our stay and were fairly quick to respond when we thought we had left some items behind. The front living room looks like it has been painted recently, and is beautifully decorated. The property is in a beautiful location with amazing views.Cons: When we texted (twice) and called (left a message) the owners about debris in the hot tub and whether there was something that could be done about it, we never received a response. So, we did not get to use it. I have to say, the overall condition of the house itself is lacking care, maintenance and cleaning.There were holes in the floor of the sagging bathroom floor. The two large burners and the hood vent (which I also cleaned) above the stove weren't working. I went through before the rest of the family got there and wiped down the cobwebs on the walls and in the corners of each room. The cover to the septic tank is a huge hazard. The whole area is sunken down.We didn't see it when backing in next to it, and our tire nearly went off the edge.It is an accident waiting to happen. It should be well marked.I have to say, this property has HUGE POTENTIAL to be amazing if care and attention were taken with it. The items I mentioned, along with some repairs, a deep clean and carpet removed in the kitchen and bathroom would make this a perfect place to stay. Owners are VERY nice, and we would stay again if these details were remedied.

A diamond in the rough

Maggie's Manor is in a beautiful and peaceful setting with excellent views. The house has rustic charm and the owners are very quick to respond to problems. This is fortunate, as we had to call on them at least once a day to restart the furnace and once to replace an electrical breaker that had overheated. Over the course of our 4 day stay we saw a lot of Bob. Most concerning to me was the lack of smoke alarms in most of the bedrooms and throughout the house.. If the maintenance backlog was taken care of and the house brought up to fire code I would highly recommend it as a great place to stay on Orcas island.

Great time and laden with history

Kitchen and dining areas were great with room for dining and prepwork. Living area was homey and had games, TV and wifi. Bedrooms were a bit short with size of beds but linens and pillows were very accommodating.. Upstairs was very warm but was provided with fans. Outdoors was great for dogs but not fenced in. Fantastic view from the hot tub. All and all it was comfortable and homey. The house was a little tired. The owners were great with anything that came up.

Gathering of Eight 1977 High School Friends

This was the perfect spot for my group of eight active 60+ year olds who like to paddle-board, hike, and share dinners together. One of our friends brought a dog that loved socializing with two of the local dogs. We had a wonderful, peaceful event and thoroughly enjoyed the location. This spot is one of the beautiful locations I have traveled to . Bravo!

6 days on Orcas.

Owners very responsive to problems and solved them promptly. Beautiful view and house very comfortable. House is old and has associated wear. Lovely dogs visit at times. About 30 minutes from Eastbound. All in all a very laid back island.

Beautiful location and property

We spent an amazing week on Orcas at Maggie's Manor! The home needs some updates, but the location is beautiful and peaceful. Our children loved exploring the grounds, playing fetch with the dogs, finding the cat, and "swimming" in the hot tub surrounded by a beautiful view. Meg and Bob were friendly and responsive leading up to and throughout our stay. The home was very spacious for 4 adults and five children. The rooms all had lots of privacy so kids could sleep in even with an early riser one year old who liked to play piano on the grand piano at 7 am!

Great location, poor upkeep

Perfect location for a quiet get away, but was disappointed in the disrepair of the premises. Cobwebs and spider nests were visible; multiple lights were out; kitchen faucet was loose but workable. Both the grill and the hot tub were too dirty to use. Was definitely not as nice as the pictures showed.

Wonderful time on Orcas!

We visited for 8 days in July and had a lovely time. My kids loved the dogs and cat that would come visit (I believe they were the highlight of the trip) as well as the play structure, estuary, garden and frog pond. About 20 minute drive to Moran State Park (amazing) for day trips, as well. Bob and Meg were very friendly and helpful. We had a great time.

Farmhouse by the Sea

We spent a lovely week at Maggie's Manor. We had four adults and one child. There was ample room for family gatherings, meals, and also moments of quiet retreat. I kept finding myself spending looking moments looking out at Deer Harbor and the islands beyond. It's a view I'll never get tired of seeing. The farmhouse has lots of nooks and crannies - perfect for hide and seek! There was even enough room to work on a large puzzle all week in the dining room, and still have the big kitchen table for family meals. We appreciated the space in the large kitchen, and exploring the many acres of land. An added bonus was the visits from Sunny & Shep, the family dogs. They're so sweet! Maggie's Manor was a great place to stay while exploring all the areas of Orcas. Thank you for sharing your farmhouse, Meg & Bob!
