Deer Harbor on beautiful Orcas Island is located in the 'Rain Shadow' area of the Great Pacific Northwest enjoying only 23-25 inches of rain and over 260 sunny days annually. Northern Puget Sound is home to just under 90 orca whales, countless seals, sea lions, otters, Dahl's porpoises, Minke whales, salmon, eagles, thus, fishing and whale-watching are very popular activities. Orcas Island has numerous parks including the 1500 acre Turtleback Mountain Preserve, and Deer Harbor's own community Waterfront Park.
