Gran's house is delightful and left me feeling as an honored guest in a lovely home! The two pianos, one being a grand, and two organs were a special delight!The history of the family is worthy of a movie or mini-series.We enjoyed fireworks in Palestine and in Tyler, as well as the American Freedom Museum-worth the time!

We loved our stay here! House literally feels like staying with grandma! It’s a very short walk to Moody Family Winery out the back gate, which has great wine wines, live music and cheeseboards. Kiepersol Estate Winery was an 8 min drive and they have an amazing restaurant, great wines and a beautiful tasting room and distillery. You’re also close to a nice shopping center and restaurants in Tyler. We’ll definitely stay here again!!!

Great Experience!

Gran's House was amazing! So charming..took me back to the day when I would go to my great grandmas house. Plenty of space and rooms for all of us (7) Would definitely stay here again!

The host was very responsive. It was the first cold front of the year. He made sure that the new HVAC system was working. There was plenty of room for the 5 of us. Our dog enjoyed the yard. We will stay here again if it's available.

Memorable Stay

My sisters, their husbands and I were attending a family reunion at a cousin's place outside of Bullard. We had a great time. Thanks so much for helping to make our Reunion memorable.

THE MOST ADORABLE LITTLE HIDDEN GEM!

Amazing Host! The house alone is reason enough to want to stay here with it's old timey grace but the main street shops within walking distance and beautiful surroundings make it a place we will definitely stay again.

Gran‘s house is great!

Having the whole family together in one house was great! More comforting than staying in a hotel. And it was well appointed for everyone. Will likely use it again.

Gran & family stayed at Gran’s House

What a great home and such historical significance in this small town. We felt like we were in a Hallmark movie when we just happened to be there for their tree lighting and Christmas parade. We were able to walk everywhere and enjoyed the new ice cream shop.

Quaint Historical Home

I enjoyed my stay in the home of the late Dr. Marjorie Roper. The clean and spacious home is filled with timeless treasures, antiques and memorabilia that highlights the life of the beloved town doctor. This home is in the heart of downtown Bullard, walking distance to a winery, coffee, antique and donut shops. If you bring a furry friend, they’ll love the large fenced in yard.

Family Weekend

It’s an old home full of history! From reading the book skin, to internet info about Dr. Margie Roper; we told stories as if the walls were talking! (Our family is a fun mess, fun loving full of life bunch) Beautiful antiques! Pianos! We enjoy history and this was a family fun weekend!

Christmas with Family

We loved staying in Gran's House. While we had a few minor issues when we first got there, things were taken care of right away. It was easy to communicate with the owner of this house. We loved the community, the history of the house, and singing Christmas Carols around the Grand Piano. I just finished the book about Gran's Life, and might read it again in the next few days. We travel to the area a few times per year and plan to stay there again when we come.

Wonderful house but…

Unfortunately we were not able to stay. We called her about the smell of gas ad she has someone over there immediately. Unfortunately there was a broken line under the house and we had to pack up and go to a hotel. She was very helpful and very nice. It was sad that we had to go cause the house was great

The home was not as advertised. There was a strong musty odor. No AC downstairs. Most windows were original and painted shut. The newer ones upstairs did not have screens. Fan downstairs broken. Bathrooms not cleaned, used toothpaste, shampoos bottles and used bar soap offered out. A sanitary napkin wrapper, used Qtips, used flossing toothpick on upstairs bedroom floor and dresser. Upstairs flooring sloped and uneven. A large hump under the carpet of the room upstairs creating tripping hazard. There is more, however I’m stating simple facts so my review does not get deleted. I can only attach 8 pictures. I notified host, asked for a full refund. Host reimbursed my cleaning fee.

Guest was given contact phone numbers when she arrived to contact us if she had any concerns whatsoever. Guest never reached out until after checking out demanding a full refund or threatening a bad review. There is air conditioning throughout the house as a brand new system was installed in 2024. If she would have contacted us we could have helped make sure she was operating the thermostat correctly, as well as addressed any other concerns she had.

The place to stay in Bullard

I was here for 7 weeks while waiting to close on a home in the area. What a treasure! It was wonderful to be in Dr. Margie's home (Gran!)...I read her biography that the hosts left and that made it more special. There's Hondo and Shorty's behind the house and they have excellent hamburgers. Or walk to get ice cream or coffee on Main street or visit the local antique store just across the alley. Tyler is only about 15 mins away or maybe you want to visit Lake Palestine another 15 mins away. The house has comfortable beds and every kitchen item you might need. There's a great patio for coffee in the morning or wine in the evening. It feels very safe in the neighborhood as i ran several early mornings. A playground is just up the road for the kids. The host, Heidi, was super responsive to any texts. If you have any reason to be in the area, this is a great place to stay. I had family and friends visit and there was lots of room for us all.
