Above The Palms - Ocean View - 30A

Relax on the upper deck with a drink and your loved ones while watching the spectacular sunsets over the gulf.

This 3 bedroom house is a 7 minute walk to the beach in the gated Calypso Pointe community. There are three public deeded beach accesses within walking distance. Calypso Pointe is a quaint, peaceful neighborhood with only 34 houses. It is family friendly with a community pool and easy access to the beach. Above the Palms has 3 decks for privacy and ample parking for 4 cars. Our home is very spacious and each bedroom has its own bathroom. New LVP flooring installed on first floor in 2023. The second and third floors are covered with hardwood floors. No carpet in home. New king mattresses in 2025. In the living room there is a 55 inch TV and in both bedrooms we have 40 inch flat screen TVs. Master has a Roku T.V. Scenic 30A bike path right outside the entrance of the neighborhood.

We fell in love with the community and Santa Rosa when we saw the view of the ocean from the 3rd floor balcony, we knew we had to buy this house.

Beautiful house and perfect location

The house was perfect for my family. A great deck on the third floor for sunning and eating outside with a view of the gulf. Large bedrooms and a very nice family room with lots of comfortable furniture. Perfectly located with a short walk to the beach and short drives to great restaurants. My family loved it.

RE: NOT CLEANED UPON ARRIVAL

We arrived and the house had not been cleaned. Once we contacted her, instead of having it cleaned she simply said the cleaner was having a bad day and that she was sorry for the inconvenience. If we had any other place to stay we would have. It was very dirty. Also, the two bikes that were available were so rusty and thrown underneath the house in the dirt. There was sand in our sheets the very first night so the linens hadn't even been changed. We were so excited upon arrival but then so disappointed when it was not cleaned.

Home needs upkeep & deep cleaning

We recently stayed 4 nights here over the Christmas holidays, but I must admit we were pretty let down by the home. The pictures and specific angles of how they were taken can be a little deceiving. The first floor ‘queen’ bedroom was very bare, comforter looked old/dirty, and the bed looked more like a full. The house definitely needs some work/necessary upkeep and a good deep cleaning. Many windows were covered with a permanent fog. New linens and a little TLC would go a long way, too, if the owners would invest a little time and effort. The house was once beautiful but just has not been maintained well. Not a horrible experience, but we will not rent this house again. P.S. Be sure to bring your own cleaning supplies, soap, paper products.

*Amazing View, Clean, Spacious, Beautiful, Convenient*

Wow! The pictures definitely do not do this place justice! We had such a wonderful stay here. It was perfect for my family [me, my husband, parents, brother, & grandpa]. The bedrooms had lots of room, great closets, & plenty of extra mattresses under the beds. The kitchen was huge & had nearly all amenities we needed [we only had to buy a mixer... & out of all the cooking my mom did, that's amazing!] The top balcony has an amazing view of the ocean - absolutely breath-taking. The middle & lower decks were so peaceful & breezy! The two rocking chairs on the lower deck were used daily! So serene! We used the top loft/open area as my brother's room. It was big enough for the couch [that has a pull out mattress] & a full-sized air up mattress! It was perfect for the 15 year old. :) The walk to the beach was maybe 5 minutes! Not too bad at all & most of it was sidewalks. I must say, this is the nicest neighborhood we have ever stayed in... It is secluded, peaceful, great for walking & pets, close enough to everything, but far enough away that its not noisy - the perfect getaway. Oh & the pool was fantastic. It's smaller, but rarely occupied. My mom & I made a trip to the pool every day, and we were almost always the only ones there! The padded chairs & lounges were the most comfortable we've laid in & the pool is in direct sun light for most of the entire day, but there was also a corner with some chairs under the tree to supply shade for my grandpa to sit & enjoy himself, too. Needless to say, we would go there again in a heartbeat! It was the most perfect getaway house we've ever rented. The beaches were not nearly as crowded as the ones directly in Destin or Panama City. It was so nice. However, the drive to Destin is only maybe 5-10 minutes - & there is everything you need. Within a few blocks of the house, Santa Rosa has some great little shops too - souvenirs, clothing, coffee shops, & restaurants. There really is everything! The only two downsides were not having internet & only having one TV, but if you're anything like my mom, you'll enjoy it! It really is nice to have a break from technology. ;) [Plus, if you need Wi-Fi, we used Miss Lucille's Gossip Parol, the coffee shop, right down the road.] My mom also said the renters were such a joy to work with, which always makes vacation even smoother. We cant thank you enough for our WONDERFUL, peaceful vacation. It was just the place we needed to get away & relax! From the Breeze Family <3

Nice home but not exactly what was in pictures.

The house was decent but the yard was not maintained. I'm guessing the previous renters grilled and left the utensils for it out there along with a paper towel roll. Grass was overgrown and not really pet friendly. There was a fish head also in the grass near the grill. We did have a pet so that was a huge let down. The kitchen had water stains on the ceiling. The down stairs bathroom shower head was not secure and bugs are able to come through. The top room had a sliding glass door that had no curtain or cover and the balcony on top floor had cracks in the floor that made us feel unsafe. Also, we could only ever get the TV downstairs to work once to watch TV. It would have been nice to watch while cooking. Overall it wasn't horrible but not what I expected.

Amazing Stay

This was an amazing property with great amenities and super location to beach, shops, and restaurants. Great view of the gulf from the 3rd floor balcony. Plenty of room for everyone. Will definitely stay again!

SRB is my Happy Place!

This is a well stocked, clean, roomy home. Great price for the location! Danielle is a wonderful host. Responded immediately when I needed something or had a question. This was my 3rd stay at a VRBO home. This one, was by far, my favorite!

Beautiful, clean home, ue needed

My family and enjoyed our stay in Santa Rosa. The home is beautiful, very clean, and well stocked. However, some upgrades are needed to ensure future guests have an excellent stay. The hot water on the second floor was not working at first, but Danielle, the owner, responded quickly to this issue. She informed us to flip the breaker switch to turn on the hot water heater . The water got hot, but the water only stayed hot for a few minutes. This meant my family had to wait several minutes for the water to get hot again before bathing or shower. This may be an issue for a larger family. The dryer also needs to be upgraded. Having a washer and dryer was very convenient, but the dryer appeared to be quite aged. It actually stopped working during our vacation. We informed the owner about the dryer, she replied quickly, and let us know that she would replace any towels that are ruined, but my family still needed clean towels. We used the washing machine, but we had to travel to a local washateria to dry them. Overall, my family and I had a good time despite the minor inconveniences.

Highly Recommend

This house was so perfect. It was very clean (which is really important to us), kitchen had all the things you would need and the owner was very nice and accommodating. We were able to bring our two small dogs which was a huge plus. The beds were comfortable and there was a bathroom for each bedroom. The couches in the family room were very comfortable and we were all able to sit together nicely.. There is a very nice eating area with barstools as well. The front porch is really nice to go sit on in the morning with coffee. This is a very nice little subdivision, short walk to the beach and steps away from the pool. The pool is rarely crowded and there is a little dog area right across the street from the house. My husband and two teenaged boys loved it, we had such a nice time! We will definitely be back, thank you Danielle!

We enjoyed our stay at the house. Was convenient to local shopping and restaurants. Was a few extra steps to the beach, but nothing that wasn’t manageable. Would recommend staying here.

Sun and fun on 30A

Above the Palms was a wonderful place to call home during our 6 day stay. We were immediately charmed by the quiet gated community of Calypso and the location of the house which was a short walk to the pool. The house itself had everything we needed—comfortable living room furniture, a large kitchen table with ample seating and a washer and dryer on the main level. The kitchen was well stocked with every kind of culinary tool that you can think of. The ice maker on the fridge was an added bonus! The rocking chair front porch was a nice spot to relax but our favorite spot was on the third floor deck with beautiful views of the ocean. The bedrooms were a nicr size and the beds were comfortable. The air conditioning also works great throughout the house! The beach is a short walk away and be sure to check out our new favorite restaurant Shunk Gulley with live music and views of the ocean from the upstairs deck. Bring your bikes so you can cruise around the Santa Rosa area. Dinner at the Vue (1 min drive away) was the perfect place to sit out and watch the sunset. Thanks Danielle for your quick responses and all your help! We can’t wait to go back and stay at your beach house!

Clean, beautiful home near the water

great space. so much room, we didn't even use it all. everything was perfect for our arrival and couldn't have asked for an easier experience. highly recommend this home and will be using it for our future trips to the beach.

Fantastic House and Location

Everything about our trip was great. The house sat in a quiet gated community and was only a short five minute walk to the beach. It was well appointed and included everything my family needed for entertainment and eating in. If you wanted to dine out, there are two great restaurants within walking distance, and many more just a short drive away. Bedrooms were large and there was plenty of porch/deck space to enjoy a meal and/or a cocktail during sunset. I would definitely recommend this house for a family or friends getaway!

Beautiful comfortable and spacious vacation home close to the beach.

As soon as we drove up the gate we loved the small community, so passive and private, very quiet and just safe, the house was beautiful just like the pictures. Enjoyed the community pool that was just a few feet away from the house, so relaxing! My whole family enjoyed every bit of time we spent at this home, all was clean, kitchen is fully stocked loved it, the bedrooms spacious, and 3rd floor studio room with bed was excellent and enjoyed the beautiful view everyday. The weather was very hot of course so we walked to the beach thru the little walk way that a neighbor showed us, and from there we were back and forth to the beach in minutes enjoyed the little walks and the view and privacy of the beach was wonderful enjoyed it a lot. The owner was very nice, attentive and responsive with any little question we had, and of course we followed every instruction from check in to check out. My family is already making plans for next year, lol and we just got back last week. Everyone was very happy with the house and the area, the back yard to cookout, yes outside there was bugs so we made sure we closed the doors right after coming in the house because they would fly in right behind us lol so biggies on that. AC was perfect just make sure you see the vents are open because previous renters had closed them all. Also stock up on your paper towels, trash bags, and toilet paper because after being there a week were glad we had taken plenty as advised by the owner. So with all we give it 5 stars to this beautiful spacious home and the owner. So we say Danielle thank you for the opportunity of renting us your home for a whole week and being so attentive with us. Thank you all the way from Dallas TX.

It was okay

Location was convenient not as close to beach as we would have liked. The linens were clean but not great quality. The house was once beautiful but had not been maintained well. The porch white porch furniture was almost black with dirt. Not a bad experience but will not rent this house again

Nice and spacious house in a gated community close to the beach.

This is a very welcoming and spacious house that is a short walk to the beach. We drove to the public beach access when we were taking our chairs and canopy, but walked a couple of times to take pictures. The bedrooms are large and each have a full bath. The only thing to be aware of is there is only one bedroom on the main level and access to the second and third floors require a lot of climbing. Something to consider if you have small children or older travelers. We enjoyed our stay and would certainly consider staying in the house on our next trip.

Our family lives in the Atlanta area. We can be at the beach in 6 hours. We all play tennis and love the beach and water activities. We have a pet and appreciate being able to take her with us when we vacation.
