Located just a short 10-minute drive north of the historic town of Durango, nestled in a serene community, sits a delightful home with a tranquil creek-side setting and stunning mountain views, bordering the San Juan National Forest. The residence offers a peaceful retreat in the heart of the Animas River Valley, featuring a bright and spacious great room adorned with high vaulted ceilings, cozy seating, and expansive windows providing breathtaking views of the backyard. Its prime location allows for easy access to the plethora of outdoor activities that southwestern Colorado has to offer. The great room is designed for entertaining and relaxation, accommodating gatherings of all sizes, complete with TV, a DVD player, and a Wii for entertainment. For added flexibility, there is a futon available for additional sleeping options. The dining area is capable of seating 8-10 people and provides a lovely view of the picturesque garden. The fully equipped kitchen is stocked with all the amenities one might need. Adjacent to the great room is a private home office area, furnished with a desk for those who need to attend to work matters during their stay. The home also provides an array of games, puzzles, books, and children's toys to keep younger guests entertained. The private master suite boasts a luxurious king-sized bed, a spacious ensuite bathroom with a double vanity, and is equipped with a flat-screen TV and DVD player. The two additional bedrooms include a peaceful room with a queen-sized bed and a cheerful children's room featuring a bunk bed and a cozy twin bed. Outside, the patio seating area for 8 people, which includes a comfortable dining area and Adirondack chairs, is the perfect spot to unwind and soak in the view. Follow the garden paths and wooden bridges over the little waterways that lead to the San Juan National Forest or simply relax, grill, and dine on the expansive back deck, which offers a splendid vantage point to admire the seasonal flower garden, catch sight of the local wildlife, and revel in the awe-inspiring mountain scenery. Please note that this is a split-level home, so some stairs are required.
