Located directly on the Albemarle sound front nestled in the quiet community of Colington Harbour, this cozy and cute home beckons you to come and relax.

Bring your jet ski or kayaks and launch directly from the community boat ramp and then tie up at the docking area in front of your vacation home. Spend the day splashing in the community pool or just enjoying the sun on the decks with a good book.

Sit back on your deck and watch the beautiful sound come to life and end your days on vacation by enjoying a magnificent sunset on the water.

While fishing, crabbing, or kayaking from the water front, your four legged family member will appreciate the fenced in backyard.

Enjoy four charming bedrooms, amazing views of the Albemarle Sound, Wi-Fi internet access, and spectacular community amenities. Including tennis courts, clubhouse, Olympic size pool, kiddie pool, soundfront beach, marina/boat launch, basketball court, playground, and covered picnic area.

Unbeilvable Sunsets

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This home is simply beautiful. Bright and airy with so much natural light. The view was worth the drive to the home. The location is a bit far from the beach but if you love to crab and fish this home is for you. We dropped our kayaks in at the community launch and enjoyed the pool as well. There is a ramp on the side of the house but it is not easily navigated with a wheelchair. We made it work for my mom who has limited mobility...The pool is a 10 minute drive from the house as there is only one road around the community.We cooked almost ever meal in the house and the kitchen was pretty well stocked. We did purchase a frying pan as the ones they had were not great for making eggs. Really everything was well maintained and the upgrades were well done. I didn't want to leave.Oh, did mention the sunsets? Each evening they just kept getting more beautiful!!

Amenities were well stocked with everything we needed for multiple weeks. Service requests were responded to promptly and thoroughly! Only downside we felt was the time to get from the home to the main OBX roadways & beaches, added 15-minutes to everything.

Paradise view of Intercoastal from beautiful Deck.

Property is located in a perfect location. Lots of Sunsets and beautiful mornings looking at the water, sailboats and natural beauty of Carolina sky. The House is as beautiful and practical. The owners were very thoughtful of their visitors needs. Outstanding stay

I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Was not happy with the furniture outside we had to clean cobwebs before we could use them, there was dead nats on the walls in the living room and the down stairs with the twin beds was very dungeon feel with a window air conditioner unit right at your head, and they were very tacky placed in windows.

Very nice place to stay

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a great time in the home this is our second year renting this home . There are only a few issues. The lighting is a little confusing as there are multiple switches on multiple walls and no clear description of what each one does, so it’s kind of a turn on off to see what happens, but this was in no way an issue with our enjoyment of the house. The second issue was the loft the bed was rock hard found.I was sleeping on the downstairs couch more than the bed because of how hard it was this was a major issue as the bed was the same as last year. But we thoroughly enjoyed our time at the house as the views front back deck are amazing.

Perfect in Every Way!!!

It was perfect for myself, two daughters, their husbands and my grandson. Each floor had their own bathroom. The view of the sound was amazing. We will be back next year!!! I recommend this home 100%.

Was great for what we needed!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This house was just what we needed. The layout of the house was perfect, at least one bedroom and bath on each floor. The beds were comfortable. The view and sunsets were stunning. Having a fenced yard where we could relax with our dogs made this the perfect vacation. The guys were able to fish and crab off the pier which was an added bonus. The only negative was the inside of the kitchen cabinets could use some new shelf paper and cleaning and a couple of the skillets replaced. Also, the grill could use replacing. The positives definitely outweighed the negatives. We would definitely stay here again!

The Yard!!!

We had a great time and enjoyed our stay at the Irish River. The fenced yard was amazing. The sunsets were incredible. Called the management company on the second day to ask how to access the cable. No return call. When I called back two days later the person I spoke with was wonderful and resolved the issue quickly. Would definitely go back!

Happy about our stay

The property was as advertised. It was neat, clean and well maintained. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and recommend it for others. A warning however; the picture of the ramp to the front door is misleading. It is quite steep. It worked OK for us b/c we had some young folks to help. But a group of only older people relying on the ramp would have a problem.

A slice of Sound Serenity

Our vacation was extremely lovely. The big floor to ceiling windows were a phenomenal surprise. How wonderful to wake up and see that beautiful water from my pillow. It was great for young adults as my son and his friend enjoyed walking the neighborhood and sitting out on the water deck watching the sound. All we needed were some kayaks or paddle boards! Our dogs were also extremely grateful for the fence and the beautiful view and the pet friendly home. Keyless entry would be a wonderful addition given that the keys need to be taken back out to the office at check out which can get in the way if you want to go explore Outer Banks more before you head out. We had a lovely time and felt very comfortable. Thank you!

Beautiful sound front relaxation

This is a great place! I loved walking in the door to a great view and fresh smell, as there was no mustiness at all. The kitchen was very well supplied. The king mattress was quite firm but supportive and my usually sensitive hips and backs were happy. The decor throughout was cheerful and comfortable. There is a blu ray player but no DVDs that I could find. Loved the fenced backyard for the doggy. Loved the deck (fantastic sunsets) and also the swinging bench below the deck. It is a bit of a drive to get out to the main road but we didn’t mind. I would stay here again!

Great Vacation

Went fishing in the back yard and got a couple of keeper Speckled Trout. The Salt Box and Colington Restaurant were close and the food was fantastic. The only negative was that the floor was sandy and the ceiling fans had never been cleaned and the gate in the back needs repair.

The fenced yard was perfect for our dogs.The house is large and open spaced. I would ask that the beds be replaced in the king and queen mattresses, they are pretty old. The deck is huge and a perfect setup for the amazing sunsets. We fished out back and caught skates and Catfish and crab.

Great house, great view

Loved waking up to water views every day and the house was perfect for our family. Wish it wasn’t such a drive to the pool or public beaches, but overall a great experience!

Home Away from Home

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was our fifth year staying at the Irish Rover and it has never disappointed our family. Our dogs enjoyed the stay as well. Because of Covid-19 we prepared and ate all of our meals at the house. The house has a well equipped kitchen and a coffee bar has been added. We purchased crabs at Endurance Seafood which is just down the road from the community. We swam in the sound off of the dock, utilized the pool and community beach, and traveled to the oceanside as well. It was an extremely hot week and the AC struggled to keep the main floor cool in the afternoons. When the sun set it cooled down nicely. Hope to return next year!

Peace on the Sound in the Middle of the Outer Banks

Loved the fact that the owners welcomed our well behaved dogs and had an ideal back yard for them. Beautiful views, peaceful and quiet location, with nearby access to the hustle and bustle that is Kill Devil Hills, Kitty Hawk, and Nags Head. Back Deck was heavenly. Also appreciated that the entry was by a ramp instead of stairs -- made it much easier to get suitcases etc in and out of the home.
