BEFORE YOU BOOK PLEASE READ
From November 1- April 15 please be aware of the Utah Department of Transportation and Town of Brighton rules pertaining to snow tires requiring M/S or M+S tires, snow tires (3PMSF), or chains to make it safely up the canyon and to the home. Snow plowing on neighborhood roads is provided by local vendors and intermittent. Cottonwood Lodging does not have control over snow plowing. DO NOT TAKE UBERS OR LYFTS TO THIS PROPERTY. Plan to check in between 4pm-8pm at the latest to avoid unplowed roads if it is storming and note that this home can accommodate ONLY 3 vehicles.

Winter Guided Arrival:
- At the request of the town of Brighton to ensure that no one gets stuck or lost and disturbs the locals, a staff member will meet you on the main road and guide you to your property. Plan to check in between 4pm-8pm at the latest. This ensures we can provide assistance if necessary and helps to avoid unplowed roads if it is storming. Please do not arrive on your own even if you have stayed with us before. This keeps a positive relationship with the neighbors who appreciate it.

Uinta Lodge is managed by locally owned and operated property manager Cottonwood Lodging Company where the guest experience is most important. Please reach out for information about the area and other services offered by Cottonwood Lodging.

Completely remodeled with new mattresses, this charming 3-bedroom cabin, called Uinta Lodge, is nestled against the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest and is an easy 400 yard walk from Brighton Ski Resort with ski access to the Great Western lift just up the road from the home (about a 3-5 minute walk). Make sure to wake up early to catch the stunning views of the sun rising against Mount Millicent. Enjoy evenings soaking in the private hot tub, taking in the breathtaking scenery. Amenities include WiFi, Roku TV, gas and wood fireplaces, hot tub, washer/dryer, and gas grill on the large deck.

Nice family weekend

Proper was just as pictured. Dated but clean and everyone had a space to chill.I have never been contacted so much by management though during a VRBO stay.

Great lodge walking distance to great western lift

Super place to go to if you want to be walking distance to Brighton as there are few options like this. Would come again.

About as close to SISO as you can get at Brighton

Very cozy lodge. Listing as described. If you are going during the snowing season, please please please believe them when they say you need a 4x4 or AWD vehicle with snow tires. The neighborhood is remote and plows simply can't keep up with all the great snow you're going to get at Brighton. Also during the winter, definitely plan on not going back down to the city much once you're up here in the canyon: the canyon road traffic gets very congested each evening. But that's the whole reason you're staying here: to avoid all the traffic getting up here each day and to beat everyone to the slopes each morning. It's great.

The perfect place for a relaxing winter getaway. I don’t ski and I had a wonderful time relaxing in the hot tub and cooking for the boys while they hit the slopes.

Suggestions

The only problem we had was with the oven. It seems like a new style but the are no instructions for operating it. We put food in to warm for a meal we hosted for the wedding party but it automatically turns off and the food was cold. Everything else was good.

It was so spacious and had everything you could ever need. Such a nice bonus to have things such as olive oil, kitchen spices, dish soap, laundry needs, etc. We loved spending our days on the mountain and evenings at this lovely home. The location is perfect, just note worthy hills for little Kids you would need to drive to drive which was no big deal. Thank you again!

The home has comfortable beds, awesome areas for games and spending time together after hitting the slopes. The only issues we had were the snowblower in the garage didn’t function properly and we had a few (3) mice get into our luggage. All in all what a beautiful place to rent for a ski trip at Brighton!

The home was clean and comfortable for our group of 9. There were a few lightbulbs that we had to replace. Also, we did not have an ice maker and there were no ice cube trays. High Altitude Serenity

This is a comfortable cabin in a heavily forested area. We had a few rain showers each day but due to the time of year, the storms built up throughout the morning with brief rain in the afternoon. The cabin is situated within walking distance to the Brighton ski lifts and hiking trails. There is a general store and cafe nearby. They have a few basics... including canned oxygen :) The hot tub is dated and the jets are not overly powerful but the water was crystal clear and the beauty of looking up into mature Aspen trees cannot be beat. The area is very quiet even with how crazy busy the Brighton resort is every weekend. We enjoyed hiking the various trails found nearby. The kitchen has everything you need for preparing and serving meals. A doe and her fawn visited every morning and a family of chipmunks dwells in the rocks directly behind the house. The hosts are great and respond to texts within a few minutes. The large wood pile in the garage has a strong odor but it cannot be sensed in the upstairs main house. There is definitely a summer bug problem this year but we were warned so it wasn't a surprise. We enjoyed our high altitude stay in a beautiful cabin in a beautiful location.

The lighting is very dated and doesn't give off much light. Perhaps that's part of the log cabin charm. The screens didn't fit tightly in the windows so we were fighting off flies. And the smell from the wood pile in the garage was not great. Those items aside, great place, great location, fun time.

Reviewer Comments: If you enjoy sleeping in, being lazy, reading a book by the window, or zone out in the hot tub, this is the place; it took a bit of energy to peel myself away to go snowboarding. The location was great, and very close to Brighton, but if you know the location of the backwoods shortcut, then it is a true ski-in-ski-out spot. Otherwise, the distance to the lifts is comparable to having to walk to the far end of the parking lot in most resorts.Timing couldn't be better, with snow storms rolling in during our stay, but the staff came by regularly to shovel paths to the hot tub and grill, plus maintenance coming by to check on the place. Communication with the staff via text was excellent and prompt. I will be considering this place again the next time I'm in the Cottonwood area.

Enjoyed our stay!

We really enjoyed the hot tub and wood burning fireplace. Carole the property manager was excellent and on the ball with anything we needed. I particularly liked that the home had spices, dish soap, laundry detergent and incidentals that you don't want to lug or have to buy for a weeks stay. The only negative is that the owners need to invest in new bedding, towels and dishes, which were old and not enough place settings for a family of 8.
