BEFORE YOU BOOK PLEASE READ
From November 1- April 15 please be aware that the Utah Department of Transportation and Town of Brighton rules about canyon travel require snow tires (3PMSF) or chains to make it safely up the canyon and to the home. Snow plowing is provided by local vendor and is intermittent. Cottonwood Lodging does not have control over snow plowing. Please plan to check in by 8pm to avoid unplowed roads if it is storming and note that this home can accommodate ONLY 4 vehicles.

Great Western is managed by locally owned and operated property manager Cottonwood Lodging Company where the guest experience is most important. Please reach out for information about the area and other services offered by Cottonwood Lodging.

Modern ski home at the base of Brighton Ski Resort, just a two-minute walk to the lifts. This spacious home has vaulted ceilings on the main floor has stunning views of the Brighton ski area. Great Western is a favorite among many of our frequent travelers. Sleeps 4-6.

PARKING: Parking has ever-increasingly become a rare and precious commodity at Brighton. This property boasts the most parking of any of our homes. There is enough parking for four cars in front of the house. The parking beyond the house is utilized for paid parking for resort patrons.

ENTRANCE:

Enter on the lower level into an open entry with ample room for shoes, gear, and other belongings.

MAIN LEVEL:

Living Room- Walk upstairs and find a huge, open living room with vaulted ceilings, deck access, a large sectional couch, and flat-screen TV! Relax on the couch and watch your favorite shows and movies during your downtime from the slopes.

Dining Area- Our full-sized dining table has chairs for 6.

Kitchen- Our well-stocked kitchen supplies all the necessary amenities you need to feed the family! We have a modern electric stove and full-sized fridge, as well as any cooking utensil you can think of, and enough plates/bowls/utensils for all your guests!

Queen Bedrooms (2) - You'll find two queen bedrooms on this level, each beautifully furnished and decorated. The comfortable beds all have warm, quality linens and blankets!

Bathrooms- Two full bathrooms off of each of the queen bedrooms give an extra level of privacy and convenience for our guests. All stocked with towels, soaps, shampoos, conditioners, and hair dryers!

BACK DECK/HOT TUB:

NEW LARGER HOT TUB on deck; four person capacity! Fantastic views of Brighton Resort! The lower level outside is blocked off and used for storage for the owner and Cottonwood Lodging.

CARETAKER:

Please Note: The downstairs portion of the home has a year-round caretaker. This portion of the home has a separate entrance.

Amazing location, great 2 BR with spacious kitchen/ family rooms!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Overall, great house with amazing location. The kitchen and living room was spacious and comfortable. Kitchen has everything reasonable to expect. The massage chair is a high-end one that’s perfect after a long day or when you wake up a little tight. House was clean and well cared for. Somethings to note. The upstairs loft is not adult accessible which has 2 mattresses laying on the ground. Kids 5-15, perfect. The text message service they use is bad. They told me several times they didn’t receive a message I sent. They don’t always follow up like the say. Lastly, they did offer and snow removal for driveway or deck during our stay. Snowed everyday during our visit and driveway just piled up. Walking across driveway was challenging. Unloading and loading car from driveway was not fun. We enjoyed our stay and would stay there again.

Phenomenal location & management company, but loft isn't useable

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Cannot beat the location and the management company is incredibly responsive and makes sure you have everything you need without being overly intrusive. The house was clean and well maintained. The kitchen is well stocked and perfect for cooking for groups, and the views and hottub are top notch, along with the added bonus of a massage chair that was very popular after ski days! There were only two drawbacks that keep it from being a five star - first, and most importantly is the loft. It really is only useable for teenagers. The way up is a true, vertical ladder (but with narrower bars than an average ladder). If you need to use the bathroom at night or have a sip of alcohol, I wouldn't go up there and even without that it literally hurts your feet to climb up with the bars. Less importantly, but a minor nit. We got all our groceries and drove out and put some brauts on the grill. They have a really nice trager wood pellet grill...but it ran out of pellets and there were no spares in the house! The management company was responsive and had more dropped off the next day, but we had to finish the brauts on the stove which was a little bit of a bummer. Overall a great option that we would do again, but some drawbacks that made it a 4 star overall.

Family ski vacation

Our family of five had a wonderful four night stay at Brighton. The loft area was perfect for our 9 and 13 year old (ladder access). The massage chair was a favorite. The proximity to the Great Western lift was easy, even for the kids. The property manager team was very communicative every step along the way. We had a great time.

Awesome Place to Stay!

Wonderful cabin close to lifts

We enjoyed our stay at this cabin. It was spotless and the management is very responsive. We didn’t use the hot tub since it snowed so much while we were there and would have taken a lot of shoveling before we could get to it. The two beds up in the loft area are actually just mattresses. It worked for our 20 something year old kids. An outlet would be nice up there for charging a phone or tablet. Everyone loved the massage chair!

Great Location

Loved our stay at Great Western! Fantastic location, with an easy walk to the lifts at Brighton. Property was extremely well equipped, particularly the kitchen. Would definitely recommend this property.

What we wanted

This was the perfect location for our family ski trip to Brighton. It was so close to the resort that we walked to and from everyday, we even went back for lunch! The place was the perfect size for our family of 5. The kids loved the hidden loft area to sleep in (2 mattresses on the floor with a hidden ladder to get there). The entryway was perfect to come in and dump all your gear. The couch was plenty big and the kitchen had everything you needed. If we go back to Brighton we will definitely stay here again.

Fantastic location and place

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The Great Western house had everything our party of 4 adults needed - plenty of room, a hot tub, easy parking, great views. But perhaps its best asset was the proximity to Brighton Ski Resort. It may in fact be the closest residence to the lifts, especially Great Western Express. We could practically ski home for lunch. We could also easily walk to the Solitude Nordic Center. Communication with the property manager was excellent - they provided ample information in advance, had a thorough guest book with more details, checked in on us while we were there, responded quickly to questions and requests, and even brought us some mustard! We liked how guests were requested to remove shoes before entering the living areas, which helped to keep the place very clean. The hot tub was a bit small (barely comfortable for 2 although we all sat in it together) but it had a spectacular view of the slopes at Brighton. As with many vacation homes, the kitchen knives were a bit dull, and one pot wasn't clean, and some plates and bowls still had some residue stuck on after presumably going through the dishwasher. But those were very minor concerns compared with the overall favorable experience. We would definitely rent this place again if returning to Brighton or Solitude during ski season.

Great stay!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Overall our vacation rental experience was a positive one. Although the place had been missed during the cleaning schedule, the rental company made things right and reimbursed us without hesitation. They worked with us and were extremely upset. Other than that one negative, there were many positives. The house was well stocked with bedding, towels, kitchen utensils, and detergent. The beds were firm and comfortable and the sofa was large and also comfortable. The location made it easy to walk to the slopes and Molly Greens! The manager was attentive and responded within minutes to any questions. The only suggestion is to purchase two new duvet covers. Will definitely stay here again!

Ski Paradise

Terrific stay, from the pre-stay communication to check out. The location was absolutely amazing. You can ski all the way down to literally across the street. Easy access to bother Solitude and Brighton which we skied both of over three days. Kitchen was super well stocked, hot tub was perfect. In general everything was about as nice as we’ve experienced at a VRBO.
