Private Catskills Getaway with Gorgeous Mountain View’s

This is a beautiful, private and spacious home in Cairo that we call Casa Montaña which translates to Mountain House.
The house is surrounded by gorgeous mountain views and is set on 2 acres on a long private road. There is a large multi level sun deck in the back of the house, with an outdoor shower, and a screened in furnished gazebo. The front has a long balcony with spectacular mountain views. There are plenty of quiet spaces and nooks where you can relax and read a good book or take a little nap.

Casa Montaña was built to enjoy the beauty of the outdoors while being indoors all year long but especially during the winter months. Enjoy a morning cup of coffee while birdwatching cardinals, hummingbirds, blue jays and other gorgeous birds all while inside the popular four seasons room. At night, you can star gaze from inside or out while you enjoy a glass of wine or a hot cocoa by a roaring fire.

Cooks will enjoy cooking in our fully equipped kitchen that includes a great cookbook collection and an open dining area over looking the back decks. The kitchen has a 12 foot Island where you can watch the cook prepare dinner or cook together.

Take a walk on the property and you will encounter wild flowers, large pines, and stunning 360 degree mountain views and if you're lucky, maybe you'll see a family of deer, rabbits or wild turkeys. There are a several peaceful spots to sit with a book along the rock wall and a small brook to enjoy during warm months. In the winter, you can snow shoe around the property.

There are 3 en suite bedrooms with comfortable beds and pillow top mattresses. All linens and towels are provided. The master suite has a soaking tub and a queen size bed with an amazing view of giant pine trees and you can watch the sunrise right from the bed!
The 2 comfortable guest rooms have full sized beds and lead right on to the balcony and spectacular mountain views. In addition to the 3 bedrooms, There is a queen size pull out sofa bed as well as a twin size pull out sleeper in the large living room. In addition to that, there is a large Sun room with a queen sized bed and feather top mattress that uses a portable heater in winter months and portable fans during the warmer months. In this room you will feel like you're sleeping in the woods with it's 8 foot windows. The house can comfortably sleep 11 guests in beds and has an outdoor shower (a must!) to enjoy in the summer months.

The living room is large with an amazing wood burning stove set in a double sided stone wall. There is a dvd player, a flat screen tv a blue tooth tower speaker/ radio and a video library as well as many games for children and guests of all ages to enjoy. In addition, we have books and magazines for you to enjoy.

You are surrounded by nature everywhere here at Casa Montaña or enjoy one of many mountain or Hudson River hikes near by.

There is a unique feeling of seclusion here at Casa Montaña, but the rest of the world is just a short distance away. We are near Windham and Hunter Mountain Ski Slopes (16 - 20 miles). You can go antiquing in Hudson or head to Woodstock for a great lunch or dinner. The light house in Saugerties is nearby and you can Kayak or take a dip in the river while exploring the light house in the warmer months. Our home is very tranquil and you can truly unwind here with all the comforts of home. We know that you will enjoy it as much as we do.

Catering is available upon request. For an additional fee, you can have the refrigerator filled with your favorite foods or fresh home cooked meals or maybe a welcoming cheese and fruit platter with a glass of bubbly.
