Built in 1853, Canterbury Main overlooks the Live Oaks of Chatham Square. With three bedrooms and one and a half baths, this home can comfortably accommodate up to six Lucky guests in true Southern fashion.

Soaring 12-foot ceilings, wood beams, exposed brick walls, and original ornamental hearths are just some of the details that give this historic home character, all while providing the modern conveniences that make your stay the epitome of luxury. A fully outfitted kitchen with adjacent dining area has everything you’ll need to enjoy a home cooked meal. Behind original pocket doors you’ll find a tastefully appointed living room with plenty of seating and a flat screen TV.

All three bedrooms are upstairs. There are two queen bedrooms, one with a TV, and a third bedroom with a full-size bed that where you’ll feel as if you’re sleeping in the majestic oak tree right outside your windows.

The sprawling courtyard has plush landscaping, plenty of seating, and even a grill for some outdoor cooking. When you’re ready to venture out, you’ll be within walking distance to the best shopping, dining and nightlife Savannah has to offer. Beautiful Forsyth Park, the city’s largest green space and a popular location for weddings and events, is just two minutes away. Grab a burger at the nearby Crystal Beer Parlor, or taste some real Southern cooking at Mrs. Wilkes Boarding House. Wherever you may roam, you’ll have the perfect home-away-from-home to return to at the end of the day.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The Canterbury Main House was just what we were looking for while in Savannah. The home was large, beautifully decorated and abundant in Southern charm. The house is a quick drive to where you want to go.The formal living and dining rooms were comfortable. The dining table is large and served us well. In addition, there was a basket filled with a variety of games. The TV in the living room is unusually small. The two main upstairs bedrooms were large and bright. The third bedroom adjoined another room and, while small, was still fine for us. The beds were comfortable and there were plenty (but no extra) linens. The upstairs bathroom was basic, but suited our needs. There were plenty of towels, though it would have been nicer if they were larger. The washer and dryer unit in the bathroom was surprisingly fast!The kitchen is small and not particularly well stocked for cooking, but it did okay for us as we ate out for the most part. There is little prep space and limited baking/cooking pans. While we didn't sit in the garden area much, it was still lovely to walk through it from the private parking located in the back. Neighbors did sit out there and seemed to enjoy the quiet beauty. Incidentally, the private parking was VERY nice as street parking in front of the house was generally taken. The bricked sun-room was ABSOLUTELY lovely to sit in. We spent much time chatting there. One complaint is that the bare minimum is there upon arrival. There was a roll of toilet paper in each bathroom. The tiniest bottle of dish soap was at the kitchen sink, along with three dish-washer tabs. There was no handsoap anywhere. The property has you remove ALL kitchen items, so there will be no spices (including salt and pepper) when you arrive. While I can understand the reasoning for this, providing additional staples would be very nice and show more southern hospitality. The folks at Lucky Savannah were friendly and helpful. All in al

Could easily be made into a much more hospitable location

Candace who worked with us and came to help us was wonderful. The property was musty and stale feeling when we arrived, codes for licks were not working, there were no ice trays or ice in the freezer, and the back yard felt neglected. Internet is spotty. One small pack of coffee was provided, no cream or sugar. Felt stingy. It’s a fine old house and with some care and thought could be a wonderful place to stay.

Great location for walking to see the sights, eat at great restaurants, shop. Charming and comfy place. Responsive, helpful property manager agents. Off street parking a big plus. Lovely homes and gardens in the neighborhood.

Sweet stay

Nice to have two parking places. Home has many interesting decorated rooms. Kitchen is small, but usable. Large dining table and seating for up to eight people. Home is clean. Thanks for a pleasant stay in Savannah.

Great location but doesn't have all the things you need.

Overall we were glad we had a place like this for our visit to Savannah. The location was wonderful, separate from the river area hubbub, but still nearby to walk there, close to forsyth park and it was really cool to stay in a classic savannah building. However, while the kitchen had plenty of dishes, it had Zero cooking oil, salt & pepper..basics to cook an easy meal. Along the same lines, we stayed for 4 nights and there was only 1 packet of laundry detergent, 3 pods for the dishwasher and 1 roll of paper towels. They skimped on everything you need just to keep a house with a family running. There are also no extra blankets anywhere. We also found that there was a very musty smell if the hvac fan didnt keep moving constantly and we dealt with allergy symptoms only in the house...not outdoors at all.The plus side was that everyone was able to sleep soundly, we all had the space we needed, we were able to safely park our rental car out back and the kids could goof around out in the back patio. The internet didn't work at all, and i honestly decided not to mess with having someone come fix it. But the televisions did work and we were able to watch a couple basketball games while we were there. Not the worst since it had redeeming qualities,and we were able to go with the flow and have a great speing break but not the best it could have been either.

Perfect location for a Girls Getaway!

Wow! What a perfect location for a Girls Getaway! We absolutely loved the location of the home in the historic district. It was only a short walk to some great neighborhood coffee shops and maybe 20 minutes to the city market and river area. We thoroughly enjoyed the walk through the historic squares and went to the Farmer's Market at Forsyth Park. The three bedrooms are all upstairs and we were glad we only had one small suitcase each. Since there were three of us, we had a bedroom each and sharing the single upstairs bathroom worked fine. The master is very large, the middle bedroom is fine, but the third bedroom is small. I wouldn't let any of this stop you from renting. We also enjoyed the nice back courtyard and the downstairs living and kitchen areas. If we ever return to Savannah, we will stay here again!

Can’t beat the location!

A beautiful, historic home so close to Forsyth park! It was nice having a dedicated parking spot as well. It had plenty of cookware but you need to bring all of your own food items to cook with. Lucky Savannah was very accommodating with any issues or questions we had. We were a little rationed in terms of things like paper towels, Toilet paper, dishwasher pods, dish soap but we made do. The stairs are high and steep with a little bit of a loose railing so just be aware if traveling with small children. Overall we enjoyed staying here with the highest postings being location and the character of the home.

Our first visit to Savannah.

We hit the jackpot on the Lucky Savannah! This is a great vintage house that’s in great condition and very close to all the historic district action. We would definitely recommend this house.

Great location. Walked to everything. Forsyth park was easy and riverfront not much harder. Off street parking great. cons: single bathroom with shower, musty smell initially and windows don't open.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our stay at Canterbury Main House was fine overall. The location is great, right on Chatham Square. The fact that there are 2 off-street parking spaces dedicated to this rental is also a plus. Reps from property management company are very responsive to emails. However, I kept getting emails leading up to our trip telling me to get the Lucky Savannah app to help with our stay and each link provided did not work. One rep said there is no app for Android phones, only Apple phones, even though their emails say that it exists for Android. I was able to obtain all needed info through email. Home is quaint and overall nice, but there were several housekeeping items (basic things like shower cleanliness, floor cleanliness, dusting) that need to be addressed as well as TV (streaming only on 1 TV, other TV would not connect to anything), and bed pillows being too hard. I informed property management of these things and supplied pictures and they apologized but that is all. For the price, I expect a little better. Furniture in living area is fine but not comfy. I would say it's definitely not the worst place that you could stay, but it is decent.

Great Historic Savannah Pad

We loved this 3 bedroom home in the heart of historic Savannah! It’s beautifully decorated with old hardwood floors and a character-filled (slightly slanted) wood staircase. We had a bit of a challenge having the wrong front door code in the instructions (& after we called too) & the wrong parking sign info, but the back door code worked great. I highly recommend this place.

Lovely historic townhouse

Elegant traditionally decorated townhouse with a lot of beautiful artifacts that I would imagine with toddlers or little kids could be worrisome for parents in regards to possible accidents. Very clean comfy bedrooms and perfectly located in a quiet square but walking access to restaurants etc I would recommend for older teens and adults and infants but not elderly or toddlers as the wooden stairs for access to the bedrooms or even to the front door are quite steep. The back courtyard is rustic and charming and parking very convenient.

Beautiful House, Beautiful Property

Directions for the parking place for this specific property were a smidge confusing. But we found it. The lockbox on the kitchen door did not want to open the night before we left to come back home. We put in the numbers 5 or 6 times, but it did not want to open. We finally got it. Moment of uncertainty there! No plug available for a lamp beside the bed. Lamp was there, but no way to use it. We like to be able to turn on a lamp if have to get up during the night. Plenty of towels, which was good. Overall, a great experience. Beautiful rental.

Wish I could have gone to the jazz bar next door as well.I had a couple of issues with the house which I mentioned on check-out and the delightful lady at the Lucky Savannah office (I wish I'd got her name: she has got customer service down to a T) took that on board.Would recommend both Savannah and this property.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our family of four (2 adults and 2 teens) found this to be a perfect spot. Each kid had their own room. The neighborhood was perfect for what we wanted: quiet and safe feeling so the kids could venture out on their own, walking distance to nice coffee shops and restaurants, short walk to Forsythe Park. Walking distance to the more touristy parts of town but in a quiet neighborhood. House itself is very cute and filled with interesting nic-nacs. Could use another comfortable chair or two. I mark it 4 stars for "clean" because: while it was CLEAN some of the furniture had stains and the back yard was comfortable but a bit overgrown and neglected feeling. But the house, kitchen, beds, bathrooms were all perfectly clean.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The rental was just as described and clean. I liked the location. But, I was very disappointed/frustrated with the unhelpfulness and lack of understanding when I contacted them about getting a refund for a night. My flight was delayed leaving by two days due to rain and the airport flooding and I asked Lucky Savannah if I could reduce my stay from 3 nights to 2 nights as a result. They wouldn’t. The place was SO expensive and their inflexibility and lack of empathy to understand and refund me a night was extremely maddening. They said that there weren’t any reservation changes/refunds and wouldn’t kindly take into account that this request to change my booking to reducing it by a night was due to flight conditions that were out of my control. Their inflexibility was extreme, unhelpful and off putting.
