Our stay was great! My wife, dog and I all loved the cozy cabin to relax after hiking. Our dog couldn't get enough of playing fetch in the yard.

This cabin was perfect! It had everything we needed and felt like it was the middle of nowhere but was just a few minutes from town. We loved the area, so many good places to eat, downtown shopping, stare parks nearby for hiking and paddle boarding, this was such a great vacation!!

We loved our stay! My husband and I brought our one year-old and had a lovely time. The hiking close by was great and we loved the local spots in downtown Brevard. The hot tub was a nice addition! We will definitely be back for a little mountain getaway.

The property was very nice. We really enjoyed the lay out and additional half bath. The yard was flat and we loved the large shed to store our mountain bikes. When we arrived the house was very clean and smelled good. This was our second stay and we will book again in October.

Great place, private wooded area, just like we want. No complaints but one small note: one of the beds was so squeaky, if you moved it would wake you up. Easy to fix and I’m sure they will.

Bear’s place was the perfect place for our family get away! It’s just secluded enough that you feel like you’re away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life but close enough to a few towns that you can grab things you need or forgot. The only semi negative thing about the property is that there are other properties pretty close and the one directly to the right is a bit of an eyesore BUT you can see where they’ve got trees planted for privacy in the future. Overall, a great stay for the price point and the property had all the amenities we needed!

The cabin was perfect!! The whole place was clean, cozy and comfortable. The hammock in the back was wonderful to relax in after going to see the local waterfalls. The hot tub was the reason we booked it. It needs to be upgraded because half of the jets don’t work. Sometimes getting it to cut off was an issue. There needs to be a step or something to help getting in and out of it. It was hot enough. We would definitely book it again!

Great hidden gem

The cabin had a brand new interior and all new furnishings. It was quiet and comfortable. It was very close to many of the fun things to do in the area. It was a bit tough to locate initially, but once there, it was an easy in and out. We would stay there again!

The best thing about the property was the space. Both bedrooms were large, each one had it's own mini-split for customized comfort, the beds and pillows were firm and comfortable, and the extra half bathroom was super convenient. Everything was very new and functioned well, except for the internet, which got better after a router reset. The minor annoyances: there was a smell of stale cigarettes on several of the extra pillowcases in the bedroom, there were (presumably dead) gnats stuck to the bathroom ceiling, and I always find it annoying to pay extra money for a house (versus a hotel), and then be asked to strip the sheets, put all the linens in the washer, load the dishwasher, etc. I always leave a tidy place, but doing part of the housekeeping is never required at a hotel, so I never understand why so many rentals ask for it. The "buyer beware": 1) the house next door to this one is... interesting. It's mostly fenced in and they never bothered us or got loud or anything, but its untidy appearance was a little disconcerting to two women traveling without their spouses. 2) If data privacy is an issue for you, the management company's verification process may bother you. They require an upload of a drivers' license (or similar) to a separate third-party vendor, a live-camera face check, and their privacy policy says they can hold on to it for up to 3 years unless you request deletion. I just did that, but who knows how long it will take and how fully it will be done.

Those spacious bedrooms with their own mini splits made for a comfortable setup, and it's nice to hear the beds and extra half bath added to that. House was great, but not quite our cup of tea. Doesn’t have much character and just felt a little stiff. Cons: Couch wasn’t comfortable bc of the pull out bed springs, they didn’t have k-cups stocked for coffee, and the remote wasn’t working too well. There was also a barking dog in the neighborhood, luckily didn’t bark at night and was only annoying a few different times. Saying most of this for the rental company to resolve, which I’m sure they will. Pros: Communication was great when needed. Hot tub worked well and the outdoor space was lovely. Hammock was just perfect. Location is great, easy to get to other places around Brevard and in Pisgah National Park. Overall, it was just ok for us compared to other places we’ve stayed, but probably more so based on personal preference.

The cabin was amazing. The hot tub was perfect. The location is off the beaten path so if you do not have a jeep or something with a little bit more power, it will be a problem. I had a jeep so no issues. Great surroundings. It is very private. But if you have a fear of sitting in a hot tub in an area that is inhabited by wildlife, this is not the place for you. We did not see any but you know they are around. I plan to book this cabin again. Also having the gas grill was amazing. Thank you for the wonderful stay.

Excellent Stay!

We enjoyed a weekend away staying at Bear's Place! We wanted to be close to downtown Brevard because of the cute downtown shops and tasty restaurants, but also because of the beautiful waterfalls and hiking trails nearby. We loved the homes modern features, hot tub, and privacy. It was the perfect size for the two of us, while also offering all the amenities we needed for the weekend. The only drawback was the property was a little difficult to find in the dark, but this was probably due to new construction and some current road work in the area. Once we were out and about the next morning, coming and going was a breeze. We also had a small situation arise shortly after arrival and the property managers immediately responded when we reached out. We had a great time and hope to be back soon!
