Waterfront Historic Home, Vistas, Praia Privada, a pé da Cidade

Built in 1910, the Yeoman’s Cottage - a craftsman style home, has been a beloved summer home for our family for 98 years and five generations.

Our favorite feature is the wrap-around porch for cocktail hour at 5 and the sunset, of course! The priceless view includes the uninhabited bluffs of Peninsula State Park, as well as, Horseshoe and Chambers Islands.

BEWARE! Once you have enjoyed the pleasures of the porch — with a cup of coffee or a cocktail — and taken in the spectacular views — you may never want to leave!

Access to the private dock and rocky beach is via a 1920’s flagstone path with stone staircase. The concrete dock extends to the water, providing easy access for swimming and paddle boarding. (Usually too shallow for tying up a boat)

The enchanting country kitchen boasts a cozy breakfast nook where you can enjoy gazing through the large windows into the surrounding woods. Open shelving stores all the dishes and cookware needed to produce meals for a crowd, and a small pantry holds additional appliances and supplies. Gas Grill just outside the door.

The screened in dining porch provides protection from the weather while giving the illusion of being in a tree-house overlooking the lake.

There are 4 bedrooms in the main house, 2 up and 2 down, with a full bathroom downstairs for everyone use and a full bathroom upstairs in the Primary Suite. The Garden Cabin suite is a separate building with Bedroom (Queen) and Full Bath.

Located only ¾ mile from the center of the Village of Ephraim and a 5-minute drive to Peninsula State Park. Sister Bay sits just ten minutes north.

Wonderful week!

Our extended family group really enjoyed our stay! We loved the wonderful porch for gathering and watching the sunset! The screened porch area was fabulous for dining and the living room was an another great gathering space. The house seemed to encourage everyone getting together!

Bucolic paradise

Fantastic place for a family stay. Feels like you’ve been transported in time. Lakeside dock made the vacation. Charming authentic house doesn’t have air conditioning, but wasn’t a problem as temperatures at night in June were plenty comfortable. Highly recommend for a family gathering.

Six wonderful stays in the home.

Ephraim gem

This historic cottage was on a picturesque lot with a great view of eagle harbor. The large porch was perfect for morning coffee and sunset snacks. The only disappointment was that the grandchildren couldn’t catch fish from the pier. But they loved exploring the lake shore.

50th Wedding Anniversary celebration

Yeomans Cottage offers a wonderful lakefront experience and incredible view. The historic home accommodated our immediate family perfectly. It allowed three families to have separate bedroom/bathroom spaces. The well-stocked house was attended by on site very nice owner-management (Leslie and Paul), and all communications via email were thorough with timely responses from owner-management (Charlie). We hope to enjoy a return visit.

A Wonderful Week

This lovely rustic home was the perfect place for three generations of our family to gather. It provided a great base to go out and explore all the joys Door County has to offer. It was in easy walking distance to Wilsons, Post Office Fish Boil, and other stops in Ephraim. The magnificent porch was the go-to spot to read, relax, and catch up with one another. The gracious screened-in dining room and well equipped kitchen met all our needs. The deck served up wonderful views of sunsets. The owners were very hospitable and helpful when an issue did arise.

Yeoman's Cottage

The Yeoman's Cottage was perfect for our family. Upon arrival we met Leslie who showed us around the cottage and provided us with the history of the home and the Yeoman family. We found the Porch to be our favorite gathering place to start the day and end the day with a beautiful sunset. The cottage was clean and had all the amenities needed for our stay as well as plenty of room for everyone. We have been visiting Ephraim for over 35+ years and this home was spot on for our family of 10. Thank you for allowing us to enjoy this special house. Sue and Tom B.

In a word......amazing!

As much as we loved everything about Door county, the best part of every day was the return in the evening to Yeoman's Cottage. The fact that this home is 112 years old is not a negative, it is what makes it so special. It is clear the long time owners of this property also love it because it is so well cared for. There are too many wonderful details about the property to begin mentioning them individually, but we have to mention the wrap around porch and adjoining screened in dining room, both providing beautiful views of the bay. When we visit Door County in the future this will be our place of choice, and if it is not available when we want to come, we will wait until it is available. If you want to stay in a real home and not just a rental property, this is the place, and you will not be disappointed. Thanks so much to the owners for making this historical gem available to the public.

Great Home!

This house was perfect - conveniently located, great charm, beautiful views. It had everything we needed to make our stay a perfect getaway. The kitchen is fully stocked and easy to cook in. Cannot beat the sounds and views from the master. Will definitely come back here again!

Beautiful home and great for making memories

This home is full of character and perfect for making memories with family or friends. We had a great weekend celebrating my parents 50th anniversary. It’s close to the state park and other Door County activities but also is a fun place to be on its own with waterfront and great porches for spending the morning or evening.

Wonderful classic historic cottage - step into the past

All the comforts for a family gathering, 7 adults, 2 children. Fabulous site, secluded feel, away from (but very near) hubbub of Ephraim, water front, fantastic wraparound porch, sunsets and views get no better. Much thanks to the owner for keeping this classic available. Everything we were hoping for. Looking forward to another visit.

A true taste of the beauty of Door County

This is a beautiful old home. It was built in the early 1900’s. Not much has changed from the time it was built. ( Structurally). The porch over looking the lake is worth the trip alone. Let me finish by saying that we have already booked our stay for next September.

Peaceful retreat

Third time - still a charm.

We repeat our stays at this cottage as somehow it immediately instills a state of relaxation. Something about it. Leslie the caretaker is great. Door County always great, but entertainment and dining options are exploding. The upgrades at Piggly Wiggly as even fantastic. Loved our stay and will be back.
