We thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of our stay. The property is exactly as advertised. It is perfectly situated, being twenty minutes to Charlottetown and 10 minutes to the most beautiful beaches.

Loved our stay!. The home was clean and beautiful. We were within walking distance to many local restaurants and the hope gardens. Sarah was very responsive and helpful. Would highly recommend this home in PEI.

The house was absolutely perfect for our stay! We had 6 children from age 1-13 and they all loved the house. The location was great....close to Blue Mussel Cafe, Lobster Suppers and PEI Preserve Co. It was also very central to everything else we checked out. Sarah was excellent to work with and everything was communicated clearly. I highly recommend this home for a great PEI vacation! My family and I loved it.

The interior decor was very nice and filled with thoughtful touches. There were delicious restaurants within walking distance. Location was perfect for accessing beaches and other places to visit.

Beautiful home in PEI! Family of 8 stayed for the week. Home was spacious and comfortable. All the amenities we needed for a great time. Communication was excellent and host was very accomodating. Highly recommend this property!

Surpassed expectations!

As a culinary team Capitan, I wanted a place where I could bring the team to get away from the hustle - where we could bond, rest and enjoy our time together. This place surpassed my expectations! It was so beautiful inside; the beds were heavenly, huge, beautiful yard, fresh, clean space with good energy. Thank you for a great stay!

We originally planned to see Acadia National Park in Maine with our family, but revamped our plans completely after seeing this VRBO listing and learning about all that PEI has to offer. Our stay met & exceeded expectations, and our host was always helpful. We all loved the rustic interior of the house, which comfortably fit all seven of us & had a vacation vibe while still feeling like a home. (Note, the dining room table is bigger than the photo suggests.) The location is within easy walking distance of the beautiful Prince Edward Island Co. Preserve Company, where we had an excellent Sunday brunch and enjoyed the lovely gardens. We also walked to PEI Lobster Suppers, which is obviously an institution, and where we were well fed. Make reservations both places if you can. We enjoyed excellent food throughout our visit - The Rustico Cannery & Richard’s Victoria also stood out.The Rustic Retreat also a fantastic launching pad for seeing and doing so many other things across PEI - lighthouses, bicycling, beaches, cool national park center and trails at Greenwich, Victoria by the Sea, Charlottetown … We missed out on joining a ceilidh - live trad music offered at the local Lions Clubs and other places. If you go, don’t get there late like we did!

Truly a retreat

Wonderful ambiance with great vibes. Property manager and owner extremely responsive to questions. The central area has tons of light and is a lovely gathering place for groups. Plenty of table space and the bedrooms are all well equipped and comfortable. There has been a scourge of earwigs across the island, and here too - but again the owner and property manager did everything they could to help.

Great Stay on PEI

This property is beautiful. In a great location, centrally located a 30 minute drive from Charlottetown. A short 5 minute walk to New Glasgow Lobster Suppers. The 4 comfortable separate bedrooms was perfect for our large family. We had 8 adults and had plenty of room to mingle as well as space for quiet time. Loved the large well equipped kitchen and big table that comfortably fit 8 adults for meals and card games. Nice sun deck and large yard all got good use. The added folding lawn chairs and all the extra beach towels was a real bonus for our beach days. Close by beaches were great. Actually the pictures really don’t do justice for this place. It is a very spacious and unique house. No complaints really. If I was to offer some feedback it would be that the fire pit outside is not very inviting could use some TLC to make it a more comfortable space. However did appreciate the firewood. Overall I thought it was great value. Would not hesitate to recommend. You’ll love it!

5 stars for our stay at the rustic retreat

What to say about the rustic retreat? First, the current pictures don’t do it any justice. The ceilings are 20ft high, the living space is big, the kitchen beautiful and *fully* equipped. All bedrooms are a very good size, multiple towels provided per room. Every detail in this space is amazing; from the intricate staircase leading to the loft area, to the dining table pieces, high end washer/dryer. We just loved everything. Sarah has thought of everything; I would think “I wonder if they have….” And I would check in the cupboards or closets and there the item would be. Sarah is a very responsive host, replying within an hour or less. The property manager is also lovely and very welcoming. We enjoyed the rural aspect of the home, how quiet our stay was, but it is also just a very short walk to Preserves, Lobster Suppers etc. Not to mention a short, beautiful drive to North Rustico for all it has to offer. Truly a 5 star home - we will be back! We walked
