We absolutely loved our stay at Ocean Pearl and would happily book again.The home was clean, spacious, and immaculate, perfectly suited for our group of six adults and three children (ages 10–15). Spending Christmas right on the beach was truly magical, and the house fit our needs beautifully.My family flew in from New York, while my husband and I live about 45 minutes south in Ormond Beach, so it was a wonderful place to gather everyone together. One of our favorite parts of the stay was watching the sunrises from the balcony each morning, absolutely stunning. We were also lucky to have perfect weather all week, with highs between 72–75 degrees, which made the experience even more special.The location was ideal: close to St. Augustine and conveniently near a grocery store, which made everything easy. Since we’re local, we were able to bring our own beach gear (chairs, towels, cooler, and umbrella). The property does not provide beach items, which would have been a surprise had we traveled from out of town, so my only suggestion would be to consider having basic beach gear available for guests.Overall, we loved everything about our stay. Ocean Pearl was the perfect setting for a memorable holiday, and we would absolutely return.

A perfect family retreat right on the ocean. Amazing views from the deck. The house is away from busy beaches but a short drive to restaurants and grocery stores.

Amazing House

We had 11 people staying here. I was totally nervous about having enough room. Well, overall we did good.Unfortunately the pull out couches were not comfortable. It was better for those people to sleep on the cushions and not pull out the mattress but that eliminated sleeping areas. Also, the bunk beds squeaked every time the person in the top bunk moved. Luckily I brought a twin air mattress.For a 2.3 million house, I did expect more. I will be contacting the home owner to offer my suggestions so the next renters will be happier!

Beautiful Oceanfront Property

We spent a week at this house after spending time at Walt Disney World. It was just what we needed. The house is just as described and very well equipped. The only thing I would suggest is adding a few more bath towels. The house is the best of both worlds with your own private pool and oceanfront. Perfect for all ages. (Our group, youngest 5, oldest 66). A short drive brings you into St. Augustine and everything it has to offer. Many options for restaurants in the area, although the kitchen is equipped to accommodate anything you want to prepare for a home-cooked meal. We would definitely stay here again!! I will say that we had a couple of minor issues the first night, most likely related to post-hurricane. The property manager came to the house the next day and addressed our concerns. Consider renting this place. You won’t be disappointed.

House was great! Unfortunately, the washer broke while we were there but they brought us extra towels. Also, the gas grill was also malfunctioning but we made do! The house was clean inside and had everything we needed. The communication was also great.

Great location but some issues

Crescent Beach is a lovely area with great restaurants and activities. The house was nice and pretty clean. Lots of towels and linens. There are some things that could be improved. The pool is much smaller than the pictures portrayed and extremely cold. I’ve rented many beach houses and never had an house that size that only provided one beach chair and one umbrella. You can rent beach gear except it’s super expensive. We ended up spending money buying our own and having to leave it there. The mattresses were not comfortable. There were roaches in the downstairs bedroom. The kitchen sink had almost no hot water and started leaking onto the floor the last day. The jacuzzi tub jets didn’t work and the blinds were very opaque and didn’t let you sleep in. The beach access/walkway is nice but there’s no signage indicating it’s a private home and people were using it to get off the beach.

Birthday getaway

Ocean Pearl was a great place for a group of friends to celebrate life with. The house has beautiful ocean views and a private walkway to the beach making access easy. Crescent Beach is conveniently located near grocery stores, restaurants and shopping.

Overall Great with a few improvements needed

The view from this house is perfect. The way you can see the ocean from every room is just wonderful. And the proximity to the beach is fabulous. We would stay here again! The house is spacious and comfortable. The floors were a little dirty. They need a good scrubbing. There are some bees nests that need removing in the front porch. And the stairs to the beach have tilted and you have to be very careful going up and especially down. Pull out mattresses are thin so bring an inflatable mattress. But we had a great time! And we can’t wait to go back.

Not clean enough, needs lots of updates, great location!

Had a great time but encountered several issues: Positives: - Plenty of space in the driveway for many vehicles - Easy to find and awesome location - Great beach access - Amazing beach access and views - Large kitchen and nice layout - Responsive maintenance for wobbly toilets and food disposal issue - Nice and very enjoyable pool. If you don't care about these,this is the property for you: - The outside back of the house is dirty, with bugs and webs in the corners -The AC on the second floor requires attention, as it is not cooling effectively compared to the first floor.- The exterior of the house needs to be pressure cleaning - The steps to the second floor are in need of repair, posing a trip hazard - The dishwasher is not functioning correctly, and other guests have complained about it. - Dishes are not being cleaned properly, requiring manual washing - The description mentions three floors, but the location of the third floor is unclear, leading to confusion - The stairs leading to the beach are improperly angled and should be fixed - A protruding piece of wood on the floor before heading to the beach poses a trip danger, especially for elderly individuals.- Bedrooms shelves are dusty, clothing gets dirty when pulled out. - The refrigerator seal needs replacement, leading to improper cooling and food thawing - Saw cockroaches in bathrooms and kitchen -A whole bunch of other things and no return messages from management Will not be back at this property.

Lots of potential; too many issues/broken things

Could be a great rental. But we had soooooo many issues with the property. Owner needs to get things fixed before renting it out. Freezer/ice dispenser was broken, pool jets were broken, pool light was left hanging out of pool, stairs were broken, wifi didn’t work the entire stay (although the rental company did send maintenance and Comcast out several times). We had a contractor there nearly every day trying to fix something. The stairs to the beach are dangerous - they slant down so it is not safe. The blinds in the property let in way too much light. I think this could be a great rental property if the owner/manager bothered to fix items prior to renting the property. Having a contractor/repairman there every day really interferes with our enjoyment. Super disappointing and would not recommend this rental company and property.

Relaxing

This property is in a nice area and within walking distance to a few businesses. We enjoyed the private pool on days the beach was too windy. I did expect the common areas to be a bit larger. The mirrors in the home make it seem much larger. We were a party of 8 plus an infant and it was comfortable. I would consider booking again.

Poor condition and communication

We’ve stayed at this house before. It was in poor condition and not clean. The dishes were dirty probably because the dishwasher doesn't clean the dishes. There were a host of problems I tried communicating to the manager via VRBO but only received boiler plate promises of they’ll get with me. It was so bad we found another VRBO to rent for the remainder of our stay and departed this property on Tuesday. I requested a refund and told them we were leaving due to the condition of the house and never heard back. I tried chatting with your team, but they weren’t any help. If I don’t hear back I will challenge the charge with Amex. I believe VRBO should consider not allowing this company to offer vacation rentals on your site. I received one voice message from the rental agent a day after I expressed my displeasure and they said the could send cleaning people out and repairman to address the issues. Those issues should have been addressed prior to our arrival. By the time they finally called we had already booked another. Furthermore when I returned their call I was on hold for nearly an hour and never spoke to a live person. This was a terrible experience.

For the most part, Fantastic

We had 3 couples in our group, plenty of space for all with great layout. Convenient location between Daytona and St Augustine. Ocean view & access is excellent. Pool is not huge but adequate for us. The reason I only gave 4 stars is all the bedrooms are in need of new mattresses & pillows.

Beautiful multilevel house

This house located on Crescent beach is absolutely fabulous. Everything needed for our family vacation of ten was there. Very beachy vibe to the house which was extremely clean when we arrived.My one and only complaint was that the mattresses on the pull out sofas needed replaced. They were literally unsleepable. I still rated this house a 5 star and would highly recommend for a family of 9.

Owner out of step with short term rental market and options

This beach location is very nice. Be warned about the following: 1. You must sign a very lengthy contract to book which essentially says the owner can cancel your reservation at any time; however, their cancelation policy for renters was very restrictive. 2. You will have resort amenity fees, cleaning fees, and damage fees that will raise your nightly fee substantially. 3. The pool needed to be cleaned. 4. The house is not very clean. Given the amount you pay for cleaning, we expect a very clean home. The first thing we noticed upon arrival was the dirt on the door by the door handle. Bad first impression. The carpets and upholstery need cleaning. Bathrooms were in need of touch up painting and the fixtures are quite old. The closet door in one of the bedrooms prevented the door to the room to open. The bed in one room looked like someone had been lying in it when we arrived. The list goes on. 5. The mattresses should be upgraded. Not very high quality. 6. This owner is very out of step with what is happening in the world of short term vacation rentals. No beach towels. Really'? We've stayed in many, many beach rentals and they all provide towels. Again, for the price, they could run to Costco and get some $10 towels! Yes, you have to replace them and wash them. That is what a short term rental does. They provide ONE roll of TP per room. They provide no spices - not even salt and pepper! No olive oil - NOTHING. I was told when I asked that it was for my protection? One tiny bar of mashed up soap in a wrapper in the bathroom. No shampoo. This is a major inconvenience for those of us flying across the country that could easily and cheaply be taken care of by the owner. Cannot possibly recommend this rental. Look for someone who cares more about the guest experience.

Great location

This is a comfortable property that has a wonderful location. Beach access was fantastic and the beach itself was beautiful. Highly recommend.

Location Location Location

Gorgeous home! A few friends & I booked a last minute weekend stay at this property & had a wonderful time. The weather was less than ideal (very windy, cold, & rainy), but the location made it worth every penny. We had planned on enjoying the beach & visiting nearby downtown St Augustine but instead decided to stay warm, take advantage of the spacious kitchen & living areas, play board games, & just enjoy the view. Would definitely recommend staying here!! We plan to return when the weather improves!

Perfect house

This house work perfect for celebrating my daughter’s 16th birthday. We were able to use the downstairs for all the kids while the upstairs bedroom for the adults. There is plenty of room in the whole house for all of us! The location was perfect. We were only about 15 minutes from historic Saint Augustine and you can’t be being right on the beach! Unfortunately was too cold to enjoy the pool but hopefully next time we would have that opportunity. I would recommend staying here to anyone.
