Neilson's at Cannon Beach is one of the original beach cabins, owned by the Neilson family for over fifty years. Located in front of Haystack Rock, the view doesn't get any better! Follow twenty stair steps down to reach the front door of this classic beach house.


Oversized windows in the living room and dining room capture a breath-taking ocean view. The large, brick fireplace warms the living room on a cool evening, the wood provided by the owners. Recently refinished old growth Douglas fir floors provide comfortable footing and that traditional charming cabin feel.


While the living and dining areas maintain the coziness of days gone by, the brand new kitchen remodel is top-notch. Beautiful new stainless steel refrigerator and gas range with sea-blue tile backsplash throughout, makes cooking with a view a whole new experience. Off the kitchen the laundry room includes a new washer and dryer, and an additional second refrigerator.


The King master bedroom has an adjoining private bathroom. The second Queen bedroom and the third bedroom with two Twins, have access to the main bathroom. Recently remodeled, both baths feature custom tile showers. Following a dip in the ocean, kids will love a warm soak in the traditional clawfoot tub. The enclosed shower is separate from the tub.


The deck off the kitchen is perfect for watching sunsets and barbecuing the catch of the day. Sand toys and deck chairs are available in the northeast corner of the shed, located on the south pathway. The south pathway also may be used in lieu of the stairs to the house.

Please note at this time there is no direct beach access. The pathway to the beach, belongs to the neighboring house.
A public beach access path, is located just to the north of the house.

Accommodates 6 maximum; no pets; no smoking; parking for 2 vehicles.

3 night minimum stay, except during the summer months.
7 night minimum stay for the summer months.

Deck Furniture and BBQ's are available from Memorial Day to Labor Day.

The kitchen was very well stocked and all the utensils looked clean and in good condition, although we did not cook a meal there during our 3-night stay. Wifi worked well. Communication by phone and VRBO message with the management company was very good, and the keypad at the door worked well. The house layout was fine for two couples, but the access to the second and third bedrooms was a little awkward. We had a great stay, and even got to see the ocean in stormy weather!

Beautiful Location

Location is unbeatable. Gorgeous ocean views including Haystack. Home was comfotable and clean with an updated kitchen. A quick drive to downtown Cannon Beach.

Amazing Location! So Worth it!

We loved our stay at this quaint home. We splurged to have the views and it was absolutely worth it! We had a private path to the beach and our teenagers could run down when they wanted. We could still enjoy the views at the end of the day from the porch and living room windows. We didn't have to go somewhere else and haul all the stuff to enjoy beach time. It was so worth it!

You can walk into town so easily without having to park and having the beach at your doorstep was awesome. The outdoor deck was our favorite place to hang out and we saw elk and bunnies hanging out in the yard! The house was clean and had everything we needed. The kitchen is compact, but so well stocked that it was very easy to cook nice meals at home. I highly recommend this property and canā€™t wait to come back next year!

Ocean views are amazing and it's an easy hop down to the beach. Great views

We stay up and down the North Oregon coast, looking for privacy and great views. This house in Cannon Beach overlooks Haystack rock with quick access to the beach the public stairs, half block up the way. The house was wonderfully appointed with a well stock, kitchen, nicely maintained bathrooms with abundant new towels, readily available Wi-Fi and cable television if youā€™re interested. Sitting in the center of Cannon Beach everything was readily accessible by walking. We enjoyed our stay and would come back again.

Amazing Location

It's hard to beat this location! Enjoyed people/bird/dog watching, spotting seals swimming in the mornings, and sunsets from the porch and family room. One evening, elk even came up from the beach into the yard and into the neighbor's yard - amazing to watch from the family room and kitchen. The house shows some signs of its age, but is comfortable. It smelled like firewood/smoke initially, but opening a few windows helped. Parking was unclear - and we didn't want to tick off any of the neighbors since Cannon Beach is so compact - but once confirmed we were in the right spot, all good. We'd love to come back!

The property was ideal for us because the living area is all on one floor, so no-one felt cut off. There is a staircase from the street to the front door; it's safe and sturdy. Access to the beach is by metal stairs two houses away, and are easy to navigate. The living room is large and well-furnished, and there is a cupboard full of games and also a bookcase. The views from the back of the house are unbeatable.

Small and cozy with nothing too fancy but very clean. Perfect for two people or with family. Cottage is at the end of the street, so there is some privacy and beach access is only two doors down -very close. The views are unbelievable and the pictures are accurate. The beach is unlike any Iā€™ve ever visited. Very walkable with beauty everywhere. We walked the beach to town for morning coffee and fresh air. Loved watching the kids playing and dogs living their best life on the beach. A truly unique place. The bedrooms are the size you would expect for a small cottage with comfy beds. Deck has a grill and plenty of seating. Parking is easy with about 15 steps down to the cottage. Highly recommend for romantic couple getaway and small families.
