Hello I'm Mel Thank you for looking at Windfall Villas, I'm sure you will enjoy your stay with us. While deciding on a place to stay, your comfort and safety is first, It also has to be cost friendly….within your budget. With that in mind lets talk about what you get. Free transportation from the airport to A fully equipped, user friendly, 3 bedroom, 4 bathroom villa, located on a very safe and comfortable property, 15 minutes from the airport. Transportation (with seating capacity for 6) available on property. Every bedroom is air conditioned and has its own bathroom. Free wifi, cable, and hot water. There is an out door bar and BBQ grill, 2 out door lounge areas, , and a hose keeper to make sure you don’t work while on vacation. (laundry services available on property). Ask about our meal plan options. The pictures will help you visualize the beauty of this property and the reviews will allow you to look through the eyes of experience (those who have been there and done that). Amazing Villa and Host 10 out of 10

This trip was planned for our daughter's 21st birthday, so we wanted to make sure it was memorable for her. Mel communicated and responded quickly to me prior to our trip which made everything so much easier. Mel met us at the airport, took us to the store to grab provisions before heading to the villa. He was friendly and made us feel welcome immediately. Once we arrived at the villa, we were in paradise, the pictures and description were spot on and didn't disappoint. The view was nothing short of amazing and exactly what we wanted. The villa was cozy, clean and felt like a second home, it had everything we needed if we wanted to use it. We did a few excursions and day trips and Mel helped with transportation and stayed with us which was great. He took us to local restaurants with fresh seafood, the best jerk chicken and sites around the island. I can't express how grateful we are to have had Mel as a host. As they say he is definitely "The Hostess with the Mostest"!

Just what the doctor ordered...

My husband and I spent 7 days at the Windfalls Villa needing some time away to rest and recuperate from life in general… the property truly looks as presented in the photos. If you plan to see lots of things, you might want to rent a car, but if, like us, you are looking to relax, Mel can take you where you want to go when you want (just give him a head’s up) for a fee, which was very helpful since he knows his way around and can give you tips. The bedroom we used faced the ocean view, and was quite large… The AC in the room worked well, and the bed was comfortable. Our mornings were spent outside by the “bar area”, enjoying the sunrise and birdsong, drinking our morning coffee… My husband is a chef, and the kitchen had all the tools needed. When Mel picked us up at the airport, we went to a grocery store for provisions. Upon Mel’s recommendation, we purchased a water bottle from a neighbour of his, which did the trick for us… We enjoyed fresh mango from the property, and my husband had purchased some fresh fish off local fishermen (you can walk down to the main road, but it is steep in parts). The living room was comfortable and TV worked well. I unfortunately had to bring some work with me, but my “outdoor” office was lovely, and the WIFI was reliable (note the WIFI is concentrated around the house and bar-grill area; it drops as you walk to the pool). I used the pool most days. It is kept clean and is only mildly chlorinated. The outdoor property itself is kept clean by a groundsman. Mel, Dee and Marsha were very helpful in giving information, filling us in on the culture, and providing good conversation overall, making us feel at home. One gem not to miss: the Rocklands Bird Sanctuary. As a Canadian, the admission is not cheap ($25 US, with much of it goes toward preserving the sanctuary), but it was worth every penny… you have the opportunity to feed hummingbirds on your finger. And it is so peaceful and an unforgettable experience. Another tip: Do not wait until Duty-Free to purchase gifts, liquor, etc. We purchased a few bottles of Jamaican hot sauce in local stores in Montego Bay… $2 to $2.50 Canadian, but $5 American at Duty-Free for smaller bottles. Mel is in the process of improving the property, so I am sure it will be even better… for us it was just what we needed, and I never tired of the views or the birds. Thanks, Mel, for your hospitality. Truly a nice property.

Entspannter Ort mit super Aussicht

Die Villa besticht durch ihre Nähe zu Montego Bay (20min mit Auto) und der fantastischen Aussicht auf das Meer und die Bucht von Mo'Bay. Die Villa liegt am Hang, erreichbar über eine Sackgasse, ruhig und abgelegen. Wir wurden vom Besitzer, der auch im Haus neben an wohnt und jederzeit zur Verfügung steht, abgeholt. Auf dem Weg zur Villa hat er den ersten Stopp im Supermarkt angeboten, so dass man gleich einen gefüllten Kühlschrank hatte. Neben dem sehr großen und hellem Wohnzimmer gibt es 3 Schlafzimmer, jeweils mit Badezimmer und Klimaanlage. Alle Betten waren sehr bequem. Im Masterbedroom gibt es einen zusätzlichen Rolladen zur Verdunklung und eine sehr moderne Klimaanlage. Die Küche ist mit allem ausgestattet, was man benötigen könnte und hat einen direkten Zugang zur Terrasse. Darüber hinaus gibt es vor dem Haus noch einen überdachten Schattenplatz für ein Auto, sowie eine Außentoilette und Dusche. Die große Terrasse und der sehr große und schöne Garten bieten viele Möglichkeiten: unverbaute Blicke auf das Meer immer garantiert. Man kann auf den Liegen am Pool, auf den Chillstühlen oder an der Bar, an der wir auch gegessen haben, die karibische See in vollen Zügen genießen. Ab und an hört man die Küstenstraße, aber das stört an dem sonst sehr ruhigen und trauhmaften Ort nicht. Mel war ein super Gastgeber, sehr aufmerksam und hilfsbereit! Es ist zwar nicht die modernste Villa mit viel Personal, dafür wird sie zum sehr guten Preis angeboten! Sehr empfehlenswert!!!

Beautiful vacation home with incredible vista of MoBay

We arrived winter weary and left Jamaica-ReVived! Our 7-day stay at Mel’s house was wonderful. We highly recommend Annika the chef and staff member Dee for her helpfulness. On the night of our arrival, Annika prepared a meal of coconut silver snapper, homestyle baked chicken, peas and rice and plantain which lasted us a few meals! An opportunity to taste Jamaica. This is a spacious home located just between Montego Bay and the small town of Hopewell. The house offers 3 large bedrooms with comfortable soft top beds and each with a bathroom which easily accommodated a multi-generational family of five. Lots of space inside and out and, outside eating and lounging area. The property has a wonderful vista of MoBay, many birds including a Caribbean Woodpecker, and beautiful plantings. It is quiet and secure. Mel was generous, polite and knowledgeable. He made himself available every day when we needed, offered us mangos from the property, and many great tips on places to visit - Rick’s Café was a hit with our teens. The pool is very clean and quite large - good for morning laps. We enjoyed Doctor’s Cave Swimming Club, with a small reef for snorkelling, a short drive from this property. Also a shout-out to Verona’s in Saint James Parish for their excellent jerk chicken and pork and all fresh ingredients hot sauce. Perfect MoBay Get-away

WOW! Perfect place for a family vacation. My husband and two adult children spent 3 nights at lovely Windfall Villas. The view was spectacular and even better than what the pictures show. Our host, Mel is the perfect host. He is very knowledgeable, conscientious, generous and a delight to deal with. He met us at the airport and right away we asked if we could go to lunch. He didn't hesitate in the change in plans. He then helped us ensure we had the right provisions for our stay at the villa. Once arrived at Villa, we were greeted by housekeeper Anna who is also a delight. The spacious home with three bedrooms is very comfortable. All the bedrooms have excellent AC and we slept very comfortably. We spent all our time on the deck , enjoying the view. Our visit was for a family wedding with many activities ( reception dinner, etc.) and Mel was ALWAYS available for whatever logistical and transportation help we needed. I would recommend this site completely and am available if you have any questions. Looking forward to going back and enjoying more of the traditional MoBay tourist sites. We spent a lot of time at RoundHill which is only 5 minutes away as well as Wharf House. We enjoyed the Jamaican jerk chicken & pork from Jerkies recommended by Mel, too. Anna greeted us with breakfast every morning. I found out too late that Anna is known for her Jamaican delights like fried chicken and rice and peas. We now have a reason to return. I cannot stress enough what an amazing host Mel. He is ready at a moment's notice ....... my daughter worked at the Ritz Carlton in Miami 3 summers ago and it was that level of attention! Thank you, Mel and Anna, for such a great visit!

MAGICAL

This location is outstanding, it’s so beautiful overlooking the ocean!!! Mel is the absolute best human being in the whole wide world !! Anything you desire , Mel will make it happen !! I have to say out of all of my travels this was the best vacation by far !! I highly recommend staying here !! You will have the time of your life !! The food is also amazing !! Mel is a great host

The house has a lovely view of the ocean and a great swimming pool. Mel is the host and he was great. He picked me up from the airport and even brought over extra flashlights one evening when a thunderstorm knocked out power to the area. He’s easy to work with and has a fast response time.

The Perfect Paradise!!

First, the photos do not adequately illustrate the spectacular amenities of this property. While my party of 4 was expecting an exceptional space, we had no idea what we were in store for. After a lengthy flight, we were greeted by a pleasant driver with whom catered to our every need. As one would expect, we had a bit of an appetite upon our arrival and our driver had no issue stopping along the way to showcase a Jamaican Takeout Favorite. After which, we arrived at this beautiful property situated on a massive amount of land overlooking the vast never-ending ocean with a 360 degree view of a well maintained and cultivated tropical landscape. The girls and I spent ample time enjoying authentic Jamaican libations and food at the outdoor patio / bar where we sat in awe of the extraordinary views. The property is plentiful, crisp, and very clean. The neighborhood is just as pleasing to the eye and we, four adult women, felt especially safe. Our host, Mel, ensured that we were comfortable and had absolutely no worries – he was quite the professional. Our chef, Monique, prepared excellent cuisines that could easily rival 5 star restaurants in the States. The girls and I have already begun planning our next trip to this amazing space as we now consider this our new home away from home. As an experienced world traveler, personally and professionally, this property is at the top of my recommendation list!!

Beautiful view on Mobay and great people

The house has everything which it needs, the kitchen is very well equipped. Mel, the owner is very nice and helpful and offers super service on the whole line! Mel gave us good informations about everything you need to know and drived us to everywhere where we wanted. Everything is in the best way organized !. When our refrigerator did not function after a power failure, within a half hour we had a new one locally! I did not experience something like that yet times in a hotel... :-) Monique, which is a lady housekeeper likewise very nicely and therefore it procures that everything is beautifully tidy always in the house. The pool is clean an the view from the hills where the house is, is fantastic! Everything was clean and nice. We can recommend the house at any time further! We will also not forget Mel, he is really a very pleasant an cool guy! Go and check out this wonderful place! Greetings and best wishes from Sibylle and Steve

Family Vacay in Jamaican paradise

If you're worried about safety, if you don't want to have to rent a car and drive in the crazy Jamaican traffic, if you are looking for a piece of paradise? Any or all of these things and this is the place for you. Mel was great to get us to and from all of our activities (at an additional cost, similar to pay for a taxi) He also knew where we should and shouldn't go. We never once felt unsafe. Several people were surprised that I would dare take my kids to Jamaica because of the rumors of it not being a safe place. My husband lived there 20 years ago and he agreed that we would need to avoid certain areas but having someone who knew those places made us feel 100% safe the whole time. Monique was great too. The home is very clean and has all the amenities of home. We will definitely be returning!!

Amazing place

This place is wonderful! The view is terrific. A great place to relax and enjoy Jamaica. The host, Mel is very helpful, accommodating, and over the top in making sure you have a great vacation. Mel will drive you where you want to go for a modest fee and knows Jamaica and where to go. Be sure to hire Monique, the cook. She is terrific. Beds are very comfortable and the place is very safe. We had a wonderful time and highly recommend Windfall Villas for your vacation, family time, romantic time, or just relaxing in a comfortable, beautiful location.

A wonderful trip

We had a wonderful time in Jamaica and at this villa, however it is always good if you know what you are getting for your money. It says transportation is included, which is to and from the ariport only. We were a party of 6 which would take two cars to come get us, but part of our group's flight was delayed so he came with one car to pick us up but charger them $30 a few hours later. I didnt think that was right! Mel will take you around and that is why he is there which is great, but we spent a lot of money to get places, because the place is more remote you can't walk to anything. And remember to ask how much it cost before you go too far, we had a few surprises. Mel is very nice and helpful and knows where the attractions are located. His car was comfortable and very clean! The view is beautiful and the kitchen was well stocked but the place is a little run down, running toilet, bedroom door didn't shut, not a lot of hot water and one of the beds was very hard. They had cleaning service which was nice and our over all trip was wonderful!

Amazing!

The previous reviews are all correct, the pictures do not do this Villa justice. I had some communication with Mel prior to the trip and he was always very quick to respond and help in any way he could. Upon arrival Mel was at the airport to greet us, we stopped at the grocery store on the way there to pick up some essentials, so we could relax the rest of the evening. I traveled there with my husband and two adult children. All of us had an amazing time and it was the perfect place to reconnect as a family. Mel was there 24/7 to answer any questions or take us anywhere at anytime. We booked his driving services to go to Ocho Rios and Negril as well as places like Doctors Cave Beach, restaurants and bars which are about 15 minutes away. He introduced us to the local restaurant to get delicious Jerk chicken and pork to take out. We also tried and enjoyed some coconut bread and Jamaican meat patties. Ane Marie, our housekeeper came in every day with a warm, happy smile to clean up and will cook authentic, delicious Jamaican meals at your request. Mel went above and beyond to make us feel safe, happy and comfortable-he is very well connected so anything you need, he knows someone. Mel also took some great family videos and photos of all of us and sent them to me within hours of the excursion (he's a pretty good photographer too). When we were "home", we spent most of our time in the pool or just sitting there taking in the stunning views. Mel thank you for a wonderful holiday, your entertaining stories, your wonderful smile and for making us feel safe the whole trip. We will keep in touch, and if we come to Jamaica again, we will be sure to call you and book your beautiful Villa again.

Felt like I was at home

First off the property IS what you see in the pictures. This was my first time using a villa instead of a resort so I was a bit nervous....that is until I arrived. From the moment Mel Jr. picked me up from the airport to the moment he took me back for departure at the airport I felt comfortable as if I was with family. There was nothing I needed done that wasn't taken care of immediately. The property is very well maintained and safe; also the fact that there is transportation on property with a willing and ready Mel to drive you(at a small fee outside of airport pick up and return) anywhere you need/want to go is a HUGE plus in my book. I most definitely will be staying at Windfall Villas again whenever I'm on that side of the island....I RATE THIS PLACE TWO THUMBS UP AND HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

No where else like Windfall Villas

Windfall Villas represents the true meaning of a home away from home. Mel Jr made this stay one of the most memorable. From the moment we contacted him to make arrangements to the time he dropped us off to the airport, his hospitality was nothing less than excellent. He's a great and fun tour guide showing us the best spots to hangout by night and site seeing spots by day, from Negril to Ocho Rios. The view from the villa is most picturesque and peaceful. Overlooking Montego Bay, the outdoor area allowed for a nice little night BBQ or a most calming coffee at sunrise. The helper made us some authentic Jamaican dishes and took care of us like family. The FREE transport was definitely a plus. Windfall Villas is a perfect escape to tropical paradise. With tour guides and hosts like the Chambers you can never go wrong. I will be back sooner than I planned.

More than I expected

First off let me say this is the first property that I have stayed at where I can say the Pics online are nice, but the real life view and experience is way better. Truthfully, this place is the best bang for your buck. I travel a lot and have been to many private homes, villas and hotels. Transportation to and from the airport can be expensive. Windfall Villas airport shuttle is free. free maid service. and the local phone is the frosting on the cake. I made free local call and they even allowed me to make a few long distance call home to let people know I was alive and well. Mel and the staff was friendly yet professional. He gave great suggestions and advise on things to do and affordable eating. I had a great experience.

Melvin Chambers is the child of Jamaican father and Cuban mother. Raised in Jamaica, he left as a young adult to make a better life for himself and his family. He gained experience in the automotive industry in Europe and later Canada, then settled in America for 15 years as a real estate professional. It was by acquiring properties, and managing business operations in New York, USA that Melvin sharpened his expertise in the areas of commerce enhancement, client relations, and real estate development and management.
Although immensely successful in New York, Melvin longed for the natural, free-flowing climate of home. After traveling back and forth for many years, Melvin sold many of his properties in New York to invest in properties in Jamaica; and he moved back to Jamaica for good in 1988, residing on the estate he purchased in 1986, Windfall Villas. In 2004, he sent for his son Mel to learn the real estate business and help manage the beautiful estate of Windfall Villas.


Mel Chambers is the property manager and contract advisor of Windfall Cottages and a host of other properties in Jamaica.
