Beautiful pet friendly home across the street from the beach with ocean views. Located in the Beachside community within walking distance to the local grocery store and a number of restaurants on the island.


Nicely updated throughout with a fully equipped kitchen adorned with granite countertops and stainless steel appliances. The home is has wireless internet and YouTube TV via Roku devices connected to all TV's. So feel free to watch YouTube TV or login to any of your favorite streaming channels within the Roku app.


With a large open sundeck on the front, and screened in porch on the back you can enjoy the ocean breeze with the sun on your face or enclosed away from the elements and bugs.


Access to community tennis courts and swimming pool.
Linens Included. No smoking. Pet Friendly. ($200 non refundable pet fee). Yard is not fenced**.

Rentals are stocked with small ‘starter packs’ that include: toilet paper, trash bags, paper towels, soap, dishwashing soap, and dishwasher detergent.

This beautiful home is conveniently located steps away from the beach with a paved path for access. Our family enjoyed the layout of the home as it was very functional for gathering and finding nooks for alone time. Our dog was thrilled to be included on the family vacation at this pet friendly home!

This has been our 3rd year renting this lovely home. It is a perfect location right across from the beach path and there is a lovely view of the ocean. We have booked again for next year!

The entrance has a large uncovered patio and a screened porch off the kitchen. The bedrooms were spacious and comfortable. The TV area had plentiful seating and a cozy reading/conversation room just inside the front door.

Pros:- Bedrooms spaced out nicely- and great to each have its own bathroom- kitchen was well stocked- Very close to the beach- beds were comfortable- nice water pressure in shower- Well stocked with appliances- a blender, toaster, etc...Cons:- It would have been nice to have a few more area rugs- The rental company should have provided more than one trash bag in the kitchen- This is one of the 1st VRBO rentals I have had to go by the rental office to get a piece of paper with the door code on it. Usually you receive an email with the directions. - I also emailed the owner about an early check in but did not get a response until later the next day from the rental office stating that they didn't know yet. I came to find out that no one had been in the rental for two weeks before we arrived, so an early check in would totally have been fine.

Great location and clean, comfy house

The Beachside neighborhood is close to the Harris Teeter grocery (you can walk to it) and restaurants. The house was clean upon arrival, kitchen well-stocked. It's peaceful sitting on the front deck in the morning, sipping coffee, feeling the sea breeze, catching a glimpse of the ocean. There's not much in the way of a back yard (just a lot of mulch and some patio furniture that no one has used for years), so if you have a dog (as we did), you'll have to leash the pup and walk the neighborhood (which is pleasant when the asphalt isn't too hot). Regarding Island Realty: This is our fourth time renting from them, and we've had no problems. These are not complaints but observations: Their added fee for a dog is too high, they should update their systems to allow check-in without stopping by the office, and I find their constantly shifting pricing model to be rather frustrating. But back to this house--it was the nicest we've rented from Island Realty, and we'd happily return to it.

This house was clean and pet friendly which is why I chose it. The house had an updated kitchen and bathrooms. My only complaints were the beds needed better mattresses, the bed in the primary BR had a layer of foam over mattress. No one in our party slept well The backyard had been neglected for some time. The small fence around the back yard had literally fallen down. This was kind of surprising given all the properties in this neighborhood seem so well maintained. Would love to rent this house again but only if the mattresses are upgraded.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I loved staying at 16 Sand Dune Lane for 2 weeks in June / July 2022. The house is comfortable and beautiful, well equipped. My only complaint was that our outdoor shower did not work for half of the time. And the access to the shower is through the garage, which is mostly clean but has some junk throughout as well. It would be great to clean up that space and maybe even make it usable!
