Unfortunately, our stay was very disappointing. The building was poorly maintained—the lobby and hallways were dirty, the elevator frequently smelled like marijuana despite the property being a no-smoking/no-vaping facility, and the hallways needed fresh paint. We also experienced several issues inside the unit. The Wi-Fi did not work initially, and we were given three different passwords before one finally worked. After doing one load of laundry on our first day, the washing machine stopped draining. We immediately contacted the local number given at check-in and were assured someone would come repair it. We followed up again on Saturday, but no one came, and we received no communication. As a result, we had to spend part of our vacation at a laundromat and wash clothes by hand.Additionally, the refrigerator made a loud noise that kept those sleeping in the living room awake, and the second bathroom tub did not drain. The biggest disappointment was the lack of customer service. Despite multiple attempts to reach the property manager, my calls were never returned, and the issues were never addressed. I do appreciate those who did reach out and trying to help. The location was great, but the maintenance issues and poor communication significantly impacted our vacation. Unfortunately, I would not recommend Makai Unit 102 until these concerns are resolved.
