The modern cantilevered architecture of the Nest has you literally floating over the dune with unparalleled views. This one bedroom, two bath cottage on the beach is stunning inside and out. The Nest caters to those seeking an atmosphere of refinement and exclusivity. Lifelong memories are created here.

The panoramic view of the beach is dramatic, the interior is sophisticated beach chic. The fully equipped modern kitchen includes a washer and dryer. The primary bedroom with stunning lake view features a Tempur-Pedic king size bed, gas fireplace, and en- suite bath with Jacuzzi tub and shower. Take your private stairway to the beach down 60 leisurely steps and grab one of our beaches and umbrellas for a swim or beach lounging. The private association beach is sandy and stunning. Your outdoor hot tub is a luxuriously decadent retreat on a chilly night. The deck with a gas grill and dining table offers a scenic lake view. Winters are warm and cozy with fireplaces in both the living room and bedroom. The unobstructed views offer a unique view of the beach and sunsets. The house has two smart TVs, cable and Wi-Fi.

While the Nest is the perfect romantic retreat for two, we allow up to 4 people in this cozy cottage with two full baths, a queen size sleeper sofa in the sunroom and two twin beds in the entrance. Floor to ceiling windows that open and two open stairways should be considered with small children.

You are minutes from Stray Dog Bar and Grill, Four Winds Casino, Redamak's, Oinks, Journeyman Distillery, the Acorn Theater and numerous breweries, wineries, farmers markets, restaurants, antique malls, art galleries in the area but you may never leave your private paradise with the absolute best views in Harbor Country. 70 miles or approximately 90 minutes from Chicago.

Myself and my 2 closest friends had an amazing vacation at this property. It is difficult to describe in words how beautiful and relaxing this property is. To be honest we truly just wanted to stay here and enjoy beach walks, the sunsets and ripple of waves instead of venturing out. We had the pleasure of meeting the property manager and the owners and all of them were so nice and inviting. It was the reset all of us needed. Definitely will plan to return.

Quiet Getaway

We had a fantastic time at this property. A beautiful home that had everything we needed. Very private and quiet. We enjoyed the hot tub and the beach. Nearby we recommend Union Pier Social and Timothy’s. The people were great at both places. Loved our stay.

Dream getaway!

The house and the view were absolutely amazing! So mesmerizing watching the waves and the sunsets every night! The sky was so clear we could see the Chicago skyline from our living room! The neighborhood and surrounding area was amazing with lots to do....wineries, breweries, great restaurants and gorgeous beaches!

30th Anniversary Getaway

We absolutely LOVED this property. We stayed New Year's weekend, during which we also celebrated 30 years of being married. The Nest was the perfect place to sit and watch the lake, and we were lucky enough to have a snowfall as well. We would love to stay again

Weekend at the Nest

Breathtaking views! Pefect romantic getaway. The "Nest" was immaculate and stocked with absolutely anything you could need! We even received a lovely welcome gift from the host. I hope to go back soon!

magnificent location and property!

The location of The Nest can't be beat. It is RIGHT on the beach with views from every room of the house. The home is immaculate and the property manager made everything easy. The kitchen and home had everything a renter might want...beach towels/umbrellas/chairs, as well as all kitchen appliances. The house is new and immaculate. We were there with two teenagers and it worked well for a few days to have one in the sun room and the other in the entry area. We can't wait to be back! We were MUCH happier right on the beach than we would have been a few blocks east with the kids in their own bedrooms.

Everything was great. No complaints, just one observation there is only one rail going up the staircase. For me I have very little dexterity in one of my hands so coming downstairs I had to back down the stairs. I’m not recommending that the property itself do anything about it, just recommending that they advise about the property not totally being handicap for some. I am use to coming up with new ways to overcome challenges, so personally I didn’t mind it. Everything was absolutely wonderful overall, wouldn’t mind doing it again.

What a beautiful place with unobstructed lake views!

This impeccable, lovely, property had everything we needed inside and out! The views from everywhere were amazing, with lake access only a few stairs away. And everything from chairs to couches to beds were so comfortable and cozy! We will definitely be back!

Perfection

This is my lead in: we planned a trip to London next year, canceled midway through this trip, and rebooked the Nest. THAT is how perfect it is. I rarely say anything is without flaws and I say it today. We loved this charming place from the minute we walked in. Kathleen, the manager, responded to me immediately when I couldn’t unlock the door. User error. She was always available, kind and helpful. We walked in to find gifts of Prosecco and some chocolates inside the gorgeous French door refrigerator. The house was pristinely clean, was appointed with high end everything and the views are breathtaking. Nothing is taken for granted here. The architect designed the Nest for best vantage point views, which is what we wanted. It’s cozy, the kitchen is a chef’s kitchen and I loved cooking there. Usually, I don’t enjoy cooking at rentals because the accoutrements are second hand cast-offs but all equipment here is best quality. Breville, Le Creuset, Cuisinart, and Crate and Barrel are just a few brands I used. I could cook happily and see the lake, too. We enjoyed the fireplaces, upstairs and in the bedroom, for the cool evenings, and when it was clear we could see Chicago! The beach is serene and we enjoyed being on it often, particularly for sunsets. It’s a lovely location for day trips further north but also a fine location on its own. We antiqued, ate well at plentiful restaurants and hiked the dunes. One day we never left the house because it’s just that wonderful. I read in the bedroom while my husband watched football in the living room. We had equally jaw dropping views. Nobody loses out in either room. The furniture is inviting and comfortable so you may never leave the house. We enjoyed the hot tub and I had several comfortable baths in the deep tub. This is a special place and I can’t wait to get back to our new “regular” vacation spot. It’s perfect.
