The rental was generally as advertised, though I hadnāt realized it was part of a motel with several units on the property. After reading other reviews mentioning check-in issues, I messaged the owner several times through the VRBO app a few days before my trip. When I didnāt hear back, I was able to reach him at his cell number. He apologized and said he hadnāt received the app messages, but unfortunately hadnāt made any effort to contact me or share check-in details ahead of time. He said VRBO recommends sending door codes the morning of check-ināwhich is understandableābut past hosts have at least messaged to confirm that information would be forthcoming. He was responsive by phone, but personally, I feel more comfortable communicating via the VRBO channels. Aside from the communication hiccup, the beds were comfortable and the place had the basic essentials.
