Great beach house

Great for our family, beautiful views, a lot of privacy, and rental agency was very responsive to our requests. Elevator was out of order the week we were there but the rental agency made sure we were taken care of.

Blessed Thanksgiving 2019

Overall the home is amazing and the best property on singleton beach. We are sensitive to dust and had our allergies flare up but other than that, great home!

Great for couples

The property is in a great location all around. The pool was fantastic! Steps from the beach was key! The floor plan and layout are very well done. Kitchen was very well stocked. The property needs more kitchen towels. The furnishings are a little worn and mismatched which was fine with our group but just FYI. The kitchen needed to be cleaned a little better before arrival and the upstairs bedrooms are warm during the day if you leave the drapes open to see the spectacular view. Overall very nice property and we would rent again for sure!

Such a blessing

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We chose this home because it had enough bedrooms, beautiful views, an elevator, and an easy walk to the beach for my mom. The most breathtaking views in the house are reserved for the living spaces and the upstairs master. The first floor master has easiest access to the pool and the ocean. It also has the card table and pool table. The pool is absolutely incredible. Perfect for swimming laps. The grill outside needs to be repaired or replaced. It works but the knob markings are worn off and the pilot needed to be relit. No home is going to be perfect but if I were going to complain about this one it would say more about my outlook than the house. Truly, a blessing from the Lord to be able to gather in this home. One other recommendation, new pillows would be great. The beds are great. The pillows less than wonderful. I mention that just in case someone wants to bring their own. We have used vrbo many times, these views are the most beautiful...I don't think I missed seeing the sun rise from one of the outdoor settings but one day.

Went big and rented this spectacular home for our spring break, stayed nearby in past and admired this home. 3 days before leaving was called by rental saying the private pool was under construction and unusable. They were kindly letting me know after receiving the request forms and payment for heating the pool. Claimed they had just learned this and blamed the owners. Offered $1000 back. It costs $850 to heat the pool and still charged me for bike rentals so my refund was $850. If I had been informed with appropriate time, could have had a chance to find another comparable home. In 2 days, best I could do was get a room at the Omni in addition to the home so kids could have heated pool to swim in. Rental co offered passes for the rec pool (it wasn’t heated, and a ymca type facility...not ideal for vacation swimming) I was told workers would be there 2 days max, to “ease my mind” with the noise etc....they were there everyday starting at 8am blaring music. They were nice and turned down when asked. Workers trucks took our parking in driveway or blocked us in numerous times, again they were nice and would move, but the extra hassle isn’t ideal for vacation and the amount of $ this home still cost us. Rental company said the weather was the hold up on work on pool, and I did ask the workers myself what all was going on. Said they were just called and started 3 weeks prior and was no hold up with weather, it was special ordered tiles. Felt like there was dishonesty with what I was told, and shady business with how things went down. The rental company did offer us to cancel, but how do you explain to kids and family that we were dealing with a breach of contract, and canceling their spring break?!?!? It’s a gorgeous home, the bedding was dirty on first level and lots of lightbulbs out, but breathtaking views of ocean and beach. With the private pool it’d be perfect, like I had hoped and planned for. Would never had rented this home without the private pool, it was top of our list as a must.

I apologize again for the pool being out of order while you were here. We did not know when they started the work, we were called the week of your arrival to let us know that it wasn't going to be finished.. We also were not informed that the reason they were held up was because they were waiting on tile. We never charged you for the pool heat. You sent in a bike rental form as well as the pool form, but we never charged your card for this. Instead, we immediately called you to let you know what we had learned about the pool. We offer $1000 back on what you paid on the rental of the house itself, this had nothing to do with the bike rentals.. So instead of charging the card on file for the bike rentals and then refunding $1000, we just deducted the bike rentals from the refund and process one refund rather than a charge before. I'm sorry that the rec center pool was not something you were interested in, but it is the only option we were able to give as a solution. As for the workers, we were told they would only be there 2 days throughout the week, but we do not control how they schedule their work. They are not our contractors, so if they changed scheduling and didn't tell us, there is nothing we can do about that. I apologize for their loud music and vehicles, but very glad they were compliant with you and tried to make things easier on you. I am glad you and your family enjoyed your stay otherwise and I hope you come back again and give the house another shot! Selena

I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We have been coming to this house for Thanksgiving for several years now. While the views from the bar area and the respective floors are stunning, upkeep of the property is lagging behind. The faucet does not work properly in the kitchen, and we had a heating issue that caused the top floor to reach 84 degrees and required 2.5 hours of maintenance. When I called about the heating issue I was told that the HVAC had just been inspected and to just turn off the system vs. actually addressing the problem at that time. Also, the price has significantly increased, which does not line up with nearby properties and the quality of the property.

Great Winter Stay!

This was our second stay at 16 Collier Beach and we were not disappointed. The location is fantastic and we felt the beach was our own private oasis.We spent time on every terrace throughout our stay. The house lacked nothing. The week before we arrived the owners had some painting done and the contractor could have done a better job of cleaning up the drywall dust in one bedroom but not a big deal at all. Selena at Sea Turtle was great and seemed eager to help in anyway possible. We will stay at this location with friends and family. Highly recommend!

Annual Singleton Beach visit

Singleton Beach is no longer a “private oceanfront community “

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The days of Singleton Beach being a private oceanfront community are over. We have stayed at 6 of these homes on Collier Beach Rd/Singleton Place and always found them to be very quiet and private. We arrived Saturday evening, woke Sunday to a scene that looked like Ocean City. There were numerous tents, umbrellas, chairs, beach towels etc in front of our home. I have never seen anything like it. To the left of this home is a public beach access that apparently has some kind of service that brings people, families and their beach accessories to the beach. We watched these trams and golf cart services carrying sometimes as many as 10 people on one cart go back and forth all day dropping people off and picking them back up. Needless to say, having stayed on this street previously and returning each year to the privacy and roominess of this beach, it came as a shock to find no where to put our 7 chairs and play beach games like we had in previous years in front of our house. This year, we set our alarm for 7am to put our stuff out to guarantee our spot. It’s disappointing cause this really used to be a great location. For the price these homes command, it’s not worth it. We won’t be returning next year.

Reviewer Comments: We rent in this area often and have this to say about this house and experience. The house has good quality furnishings and equipment including the kitchen. The house was clean and great views of the ocean from all rooms. Our biggest issue is getting the following email from the manager the day we arrived: On May 9, 2020, at 10:37 AM, Info wrote:  Hi Jeff, The home has been cleaned and is ready for check in..... HOWEVER..... Sorry, the elevator is on the basement floor and has no power. It has to have two special batteries that has been ordered but I don’t know when they will arrive. If this is not going to work for you.... Then I’ll be happy to cancel the reservation and refund your money because I cannot get the elevator working without these parts. My wife currently has real bad back issues, so going up and down the stairs (kitchen is on second floor) was not acceptable. The elevator was completely broken. The guy showed up to fix it on Tuesday and said that it was shot and would in no way be fixed by the end of our week.... Apparently it wasn't just the battery backups.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had an absolute blast! The weather was perfect, but the house put it over the top. It's location beats anything on the street. We felt like we almost had a private beach. The pool being in and out of the shade during the day made it a pleasure at all times. We enjoyed all the common areas, but the space made it where we could spread out as needed. Our only issue is we have bragged about it so much that other families want to join us - can you add 2 more rooms?

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Great location, great property, Sea Turtles is enjoyable to work with.Kitchen needs sharper knives. Pool area did not receive the weekly touch up work while we were there.Bidet still not working properly, a waste of great luxury item.Several light bulbs burned out, we changed a few that were important.Elevator out of service for a few days, that hurts during the unloading phase of arrival, but fixed by Tues and loading to leave was made easier. They were waiting on a part to arrive rush order.

Only problem I had is that the pool is completely in the shade by noon. Being that we were there in mid-October, didn't have a lot of pool time. Other than that, not a thing wrong with the place,

This house is extremely well appointed!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We were 10 adults and 3 toddlers and this house was perfect! The house has everything you need to feel right at home. They spared no expense in the construction, decorations, or the amenities. I have only one suggestion for the owner: add some chairs to the side porches, as while the views are beautiful, there is nothing to sit on, rendering them really useless. I do though believe the management company can do better with the maintenance. For example pool service is supposed to be Sat/Wed. We arrived on Sat and the pool was filthy, so it was unusable. We called and was told the service would be there that evening. They didn't arrive until late Sunday afternoon, and since they clean the area, we had to move from the sunny patio surrounding the pool. Then they came back Tuesday morning, rather than Wednesday, so I imagine the guests arriving on Saturday had the same complaint. Another issue was the attention paid to dusting. While usable services had been cleaned, moldings and fixtures were pretty dusty. Granted it is a big house, but they were there ready to enter when we left at 10am Saturday morning, so 6 hours should be enough time for two adults to do a thorough cleaning. But, as I said the house is wonderful and we had a wonderful stay!
