Perfect relaxing slot

Kate is a wonderful host, the property was perfect for our stay. Very comfortable and very well furnished. Great Wi-Fi and everything was simply awesome.

Great cabin on Shelburne farms, very scenic. We enjoyed the hiking, farm activities for kids, and exploring the area around Shelburne.

Perfect getaway for 3oth Anniversary

This was a special getaway for my wife and I, in a wonderful cottage in a wonderful place. We really enjoyed our stay, and our hosts were great, and Shelburne Farms is a special place to visit. We are looking forward to returning soon!

Sugarbush cottage, Kate (the owner), and Shelburne Farms were all truly amazing! It is one of our favorite places to visit to unwind, connect with nature, and witness true beauty and the incredible work Shelburne Farms does for people and the environment. Kate is great, the cottage is perfect, and we appreciated the complimentary Shelburne Farms cheese, crackers, and Vermont coffee. We plan on being back in 2026!

Unique Lake Champlain Experience

Everything was so beautiful about this cottage, the Shelburne farm property, the host and the Lake Champlain Valley that it’s hard to summarize how lovely our vacation was. Kate is a warm and helpful host and her cottage is perfect!

Relaxing Vermont Oasis

We love staying here! It was our second visit and just as amazing as we remembered. We even uncovered new trails to walk and fun things to do on Shelburne Farms. The house is terrifically outfitted for cooking. And our sleep is so restful and peaceful. We look forward to returning next year!

Lovely doesn't begin to describe this exceptional property located on Shelburne Farms. The kitchen is extremely well stocked. I am very fussy and I almost felt like I was at home and that says a lot. Even my fussy dog that hates to travel was more at home than he usually is while traveling. The king bed was very comfy, my husband and I both slept well. Kate was an excellent and responsive hostess. We can't say enough good things about our stay and look forward to a return visit.

Fabulous!

The cottage at Shelburne Farms is a treasure and Kate is a wonderful host. The house is immaculate and fully stocked with linens and very nice kitchen ware, AC for those unexpected hot days in VT and full laundry. The setting is quintessential Vermont. Hope to return!

Wonderful stay at Cottage on Shelburne Farms

Our stay at the comfortable and cozy Shelburne Cottage was very enjoyable. The location within the beautiful Shelburne Farms was amazing. It's a special place and we're so glad we were able to stay at the cottage and enjoy the beautiful area. Walking trails around the farm were a fun way to explore. We appreciated the special treats of Vermont cheddar cheese and maple syrup, both made at the farm, that were in the refrigerator. Kate was a generous host!

Peaceful stay

We had a peaceful week at this comfortable cottage on Shelburne Farms, overlooking a meadow with a distant view of Lake Champlain. The master bed is comfy, and the open floor plan downstairs was perfect. The kitchen is really well stocked - we would have easily entertained family for dinner and plan to next time! Easy access to Shelburne and Burlington but a totally “off the beaten path” feel at the cottage itself. Kate is an outstanding host - unobtrusive but conscientious to ensure a perfect stay. We will definitely stay here again!

First time VRBO

Great first experience with VRBO. Location beautiful. Kate, our host, who lives next door was quick to answer any question we had. Home was equipped with everything we needed. We had our two dogs with us and house was equipped with baby gates at stairs which provided peace of mind! We would definitely recommend and do a return visit

Complete Zen

There are not enough stars to rate or words to truly capture the peace and beauty of Sugarbush Cottage and Shelburne Farms. It is an experience that is to be felt. We had such an amazing experience walking all around the farm. The views are spectacular and the cottage is cozy, clean, and had everything we needed and wanted. The owner, Kate, is super friendly, available, and very kind. It was hard to leave such a perfect place!

We keep coming back!

This was the third time we've stayed at this property. It is peaceful and serene, the kitchen is very well equipped, comfortable beds and seating. Kate is a wonderful host and always quick to respond if we've had any questions. We are always welcomed with a fresh bag of coffee, crackers and wonderful cheese (that is made right there on the farm.) There are miles of trails to walk on the farm and the views of the lake, mountains and woodlands are breathtaking. (We loved hearing the barred owls every morning.) The location is close to Burlington and many other charming towns and vistas that you'll want to experience.

A perfect stay

We stayed in the winter while visiting my parents nearby. The house was set up perfectly for our stay, with lots of special touches like the maple syrup, local cheddar and milk provided. The kitchen has every type of equipment, although we didn't end up cooking there. We did appreciate the electric kettle for our tea and the laundry facilities. Shelburne Farms is amazing, and we did lots of walks even in the raw temperatures. Kate was super helpful and communicative, even inviting us back to stay on our departure night due to a storm (we got out fine). We hope to be back in another season!

Cozy cottage surrounded by nature

The house is small and cozy with everything you need. Lots of natural light and a beautiful view into the trees from the upstairs bedroom. King bed is very comfortable. The shower has great water pressure. Nice character with interesting wood details. Best of all is the surrounding property with beautiful walking trails and views of Lake Champlain. For anyone who enjoys nature, this house is in the perfect location (while still minutes from the center of Shelburne with a grocery store and great selection of restaurants). Our host was thoughtful and easy to work with. We highly recommend this house to anyone who appreciates natural beauty and enjoys small and cozy.

Beautiful location and a lovely cottage and host!

We decided on Vermont to see the eclipse and found this cottage by chance on VRBO. Kate is likely the best host that we have ever had in any vacation rental. And that is saying a lot since we strictly use rentals for all of our trips! Prior to our trip, she worked with us on adding extra days and kept track of the forecast for us. When we first arrived on a snowy afternoon, we were charmed by the beauty of the area and the cottage itself. The next day we met Kate and she shared the history of Shelburne Farms. Being history buffs, we were thrilled that she took the time to share this with us as most hosts aren't that communicative. We took several walks around the farm, and purchased some breads and cheese from the farm store that made me want to move to Vermont! We loved being able to see the eclipse right outside the cottage's door without driving for hours and dealing with hordes of people. We found so much to explore in Vermont, that we are planning to come back in the late summer or late spring next year, or whenever Kate's property is available. Thank you Kate for giving us an experience that we will remember forever!

Beautiful Shelburne farm rental

This is an exceptional rental. Located within the Shelburne farm property, it is a beautiful home & well furnished with everything one could possibly need for a lovely stay. We were sad to leave.

Simply Outstanding

Our stay at Sugarbush Cottage was one of the best vacation experiences we've ever had and one of the primary reasons was our host Kate. Her thoughtfulness and genuine desire to make sure we were comfortable and our needs were met, made it an extremely positive getaway for us. The setting is simply beautiful and so peaceful. We can't wait to go back!

Picturesque

Nice house, great location. Perfect for our small family. We had a nice time grilling on the back deck and the house was nicely provisioned. The host was responsive and friendly. Right near a bunch of walking trails. Barn out the front door.
