Numerous decking options come equipped with this OBX Rental Home, featuring a massive roof-top deck, back patio area with outside shower and grill, two front decks, and an enclosed patio, allowing options for sunbathing and enjoying the gentle ocean-ambiance.

This Nags Head Rental Home provides a spacious layout with multiple living areas and numerous bedrooms to accommodate a variety of family sizes. The ocean-side Queen Bedroom offers a quiet location in the home, with quick access to the wet bar, full bathroom, and living area, and also access to the back patio. The front three bedrooms then have immediate access to the great room, with a bathroom, living and dining area, and kitchen.

Remote to everything

Cleanliness not the greatest. Remote to beach and store which was great. Property managers responded in a timely manner and polite. Place could use some TLC. Overall it was okay. Enjoyed the stay.

Vacation

Location was excellent, right on the beach. Top and back deck areas are very nice to hang out during cooler nights. Did have to vacuum upon arrival as there was still sand on the ground, a long with dog/ children toys left under the couch. It is pretty difficult to get onto the beach, though, because you have to go up a pretty steep sand dunes (although the neighbors let us use their deck which made it easier)

Yikes

The property is beautiful in the pictures listed, but there is a big difference in person. There was obvious water damage all over the walls in the house. The musty mildew smell was overwhelming and the floors were filthy when we arrived. After using febreeze and using 2-3 swiffer wet mop cloths per room, the musty smell was tolerable but never fully left.The AC only worked half the time of our week long stay, and the bathroom drains were clogged/one sink stopper was broken. All of the appliances worked well, and the proximity to the beach was nice. Staff was fairly helpful. They got a maintenence person out pretty quickly to fix the clogged sinks and broken washing machine.Overall, our family will not stay at this property again. The pictures listed do not show the reality of the property.

First, access to beach was inaccurate based on the description— at no point did they disclose there was a 12ft dune you have to climb to get to the beach. Second, all week the house had a musty smell. Third, walls were peeling and cracked from water damage. Great location and roof top deck was the highlight. It was just misrepresented.

Unfortunately, due to the nature of storms on the Outer Banks, ocean-front dunes can accumulate/dissipate very quickly. Thank you for letting us know about the issues you experienced with the home. Great house

Our family enjoyed or short late season stay here so much that we booked it for a full normal summer week. It has plenty of room for a large family and even though it’s not directly on the beach it’s as close as you can get otherwise. No need to even cross a street. Just open back door and you’re 10 feet from sand. Cove Reality was easy to work with for some last minute changes. Recommended for a family of about 8!

Breakaway

Property location was great! We spent the entire first day cleaning the house, it was nasty. I don’t think this place has been cleaned for the entire year! Honestly my family and I should get the housekeepers/cleaning fee returned due to the state of the house! The beds had sand all over them, hair in all the showers, dust covering most surfaces, floors had visible crumbs and such all over. It was awful!

While I see in the notes that several follow-up calls were made to your phone on the day of your check-in and the day after so to make sure all was ok with the rental home and your check-in process, I unfortunately read that only voicemails could be left due to no answer. For future guests, please immediately make us away of any issues you encounter during your stay so that we may quickly remedy any problem you may encounter. Really?

Septic tank put in the house behind us while we were there. Porta potty was my bedroom view. Hair that was not mine on the rug in bathroom. Drain on back shower loose. Dirty stained foam cushions in the gathering room, where can we use there? Weeds and stainless screws in the walkway. Email attitude from Realtor. House itself was great. Makes me doubt “ covid ready” I’m vaxxed, have a house in Manteo, my son lives here and the vibe locally about the realtor is poor.

Family Vacation

House was as listed. Beach access is a no go if you have any hip, leg, or mobility issues. The house could use a deep clean. The outside lights never worked. I did call twice.

Thank you for your feedback on this rental home. We will be forwarding this information to the cleaning department to inspect and address a mid-season deep clean. As for the outside lights, maintenance notes show that they were replaced mid-week but no one was home during the change-out. We will do a follow-up with maintenance to ensure these outside lights have been changed and are functioning, and will also note to reservationists to perform follow-ups with guests who are not at the property when work is completed. We hope that, aside from these issues, you were able to enjoy your stay in the Outer Banks!

Fun Family Week

There are many wonderful things about this property. We loved the location, the different areas for us and our kids, and the old fashioned charm of this place. I think for the money we were thankful to give up a few things to be so close to the beach. Many fun memories!

Beach Vacation

We had a wonderful time at Breakway. The cottage is bigger than it looks and close to beach, but parking is not great. I would definitely recommend staying here. Cove Realty is a very good and friendly company to deal with also.

Our Breakaway Week

Despite the rainy weather at the beginning of the week, we had an enjoyable week at Breakaway. Caution to those renting ~ driveway is SMALL four cars/Jeeps is tight. Path to beach is a steep climb over the dunes. We have passes to Hatteras so we usually drive on the beach anyways. Other than that it is great! Kitchen is well stocked! Loved the screen in porch to leave our beach stuff & coolers. Bedrooms & Beds are comfortable. With six of us, we never felt that we were on top of each other. Lots of room in two tv rooms. Cards played each night at the dining room table Absolutely loved the top deck. It was a great break from the hustle & bustle of life! We hope to return.

Very close to ocean, cozy, relaxing, fitted seven comfortably, close to everything needed

In town for family wedding. Great place to stay for attending the wedding, in Manteo, And getting some vacation in ;) Except groceries of course, it had everything we needed. 95 year old grandma had no trouble waking up to or waking around the house. Plenty of room to spread out and relax.
