Love this majestic place!

This was our second time staying at Crissy’s house. It’s perfect for us! So peaceful and serene. We love this property and will be back again hopefully in the summer.

Nestled in the woods

We enjoyed our stay at this property. It was just big enough for three adults. It was not clear to me in the listing that there are two bedrooms upstairs. The third one with the day bed is on the main floor. One full bathroom on each floor. Being in the mountains, the Wi-Fi was very slow. It was a 25-30 drive to downtown Golden.

Coal creek cabin

Our stay was amazing, no mice like some reviews, contacted me to let me know we could check in early that day(which worked out great for us),driveway is steep we had a 15 passenger van and did just fine in august however with th curve of the drive 4 wheel would be needed in winter months, plenty of natural light and a stream running by the house 10/10 would stay again

Prior reviews mentioned mice - assumed the problem had been dealt with by now - it has not - it’s a real problem that needs to be resolved. Cabin is very dated and dark - there are better options nearby.

Christmas at Coal Creek

We spent Christmas at the cabin; very enjoyable. The cabin was nice and warm (snow outside) and as described. The two upstairs bedrooms were very spacious. Enjoyed having fires, watching movies and playing games. There was room for all of us around the table. The kitchen is large and has a large assortment of pots, pans, dishes etc. The dishwasher ran almost nonstop and did a good job! Some might find the cabin a bit dated; however I thought it was rustically charming and would recommend.

Nice place, but WIFI is too weak

Less than 3.14Mbps internet speed is insufficient to work remote. Checkin instruction was confusing because it didn't identify entry through the sunroom's sliding glass door.

Coal Creek Canyon

The house is well maintained and in good condition. Two comments. We had difficulty with the operation of the ceiling fans and light and were never able to figure out. Second it is ridiculous that we had to dispose of the trash. You need to either make arrangements to have it picked up or a place to take it to. Other than that it met our needs.

Serene & peaceful!

This house was perfect! I'm so glad we went with this property after looking at so many others online. The location was perfect as well! We love the Golden area. Planning on moving there within the next year or two and have decided on the Golden area.We saw a large brown bear in the woods behind the house/deck about 40 yards back. Then a few days later my son and his girlfriend saw a brown bear cub in the driveway. Crissy (owner) sent us the video of the bear cub from her Ring camera. So COOL!! We saw many chipmunks, birds, woodpeckers. Maybe next time we'll see a moose.Thank you Crissy for allowing us to have a late check out so we could enjoy even more time on the deck with the serenity before we flew back home that evening and back to reality! Crissy was a great host!We will be back!!

Cozy Mountain Cabin

This house was a perfect distance from my daughter who lives down the canyon and from Eldora ski area. It was comfortable for me, my other daughter, and her boyfriend. It was a little funky in that some of the kitchen appliances could've used a little updating but they worked fine. Pots and pans were well stocked. There was a bit of a problem with the temperature in the house. We didn't seem to have any control over the thermostat and we found it be a little chilly during the day and then would be too warm at night. But there were a few electric heaters around which we used to advantage. The owner was right in that you will need AWD to get up the driveway. I would imagine this place might be a bit more fun in the non-winter months. It has a large sunroom which would be fun to hang out in and had toys, etc for children. The place also could have been a little more cleaner. Overall, it suited us fine and I would stay here again, perhaps in the summer.

Met our needs, but definitely didn’t need exceed expectations

The cabin met our needs since we had a big group, however there are a few things you should consider before booking your trip. First, really look at the map. We thought it would be close to downtown Golden; however, the cabin is very secluded and is at least a 30 minute drive to Golden. You are up in the mountain, so there’s not much around. Second, there is a mouse living underneath the dishwasher. We’re not high maintenance, but we can definitely see this bothering someone. Don’t leave any food out- even if wrapped in a bag. He ate some of our food that was completely wrapped. Finally, there were some dirty linens and garbage stuffed inside the pull-out sofa. The owner was notified so hopefully that doesn’t happen in the future. Overall, it was a good price and accommodated our group. Looking back, we probably would have spent a little more to be in a more populated place.

Thanksgiving in the "middle." Our daughters live in Colorado and Minnesota. but we live in Californ

Awesome. It was homey. Easy to relax in. Awesome sleeps and lovely bathrooms. Plenty of supplies and cooking area. Even nice walks in the snow (on the road!) We took some great family photos with the beautiful trees. It gave our family a great chance to relax and enjoy each other for a few days. Thank you!

Off the beaten track

Cabin was spacious and thoughtfully equipped with the little things one might need: snacks, breakfast items, sunscreen, water filter in fridge, and toiletries. We enjoyed the aesthetic though the sofa is starting to tire and wasn't as comfortable as it looked. Overall, would recommend to anyone who wants to get away from the crowds and doesn't mind a short off road drive to get there.

Nice place with babbling brook

This place was exactly what we were looking for. Not to far from boulder and a nice drive to get there. Loved listening to the stream right outside. Definitely would stay here again!

Enjoyed the home, it worked perfect for us as it was close to family we were visiting. A couple of suggestions: it would be helpful if the notes were typed up and put in a binder so they were all in one place and a hairdryer in the master would be nice.

Mountain Living

The home was cozy and included all the comforts of home. We had 8 people together in the home (4 adults, 4 children) and there were sleeping accommodations for all of us. The upstairs bedrooms were very nice and beds were comfortable. The downstairs bedroom definitely needs a new mattress. My husband and I had a very difficult week sleeping as we kept rolling into the center of the bed. The water pressure in the house is awesome and always had plenty of hot water but need to repair the diverter valve in the downstairs bath as it falls off . We didn't get the chance to use the deck or grill but it looked very nice, as did the front enclosed porch. Just an FYI, a small field mouse has taken up residence in the dining room closet. We spotted him the first night we were there. We understand it's mountain living so we didn't freak out. Overall, we had a good experience.

Pretty Good

The location is convenient--an hour from the airport, 30 minutes to Nederland, 40 minutes to Boulder, an hour to Brainard Lake, 40 minutes to Red Rocks. The house itself is fine. The couch is only comfortable when sitting in the corners. If the fans always worked the temperature would always be comfortable, but they're all remote controlled and the remotes don't all work (even with new batteries). The kitchen is nice, and contrary to the posting you don't have to take your trash with you anymore as there's a bear-proof trashcan. There are enough trees around that you can find shade on the deck most of the day. Good water pressure in the shower. Check in/out was easy.

Quiet in the mountains

Our stay there was very nice, nice property for my family and I to stay while we were visiting Colorado for a family wedding. Initially check in was terrible! We got to the house super late and the bottom lock was locked so we were unable to get into the house. The cell service was not good in the mountains, so we had to drive off the mountain to be able to call the owner about our problem getting into the house. After several attempts I was able to get in touch and finally by 2:30 in the morning we got into the house. The owner promised us a refund for our first night because of the hassle with getting into the home. I am very upset because there is still no refund and I haven’t been able to get in touch with the owner again. The house overall was a great stay besides the hassle getting in and still waiting for the refund.

Great spot for for a getaway!

Far enough from the city so there's no noise from nearby roads. Comfy spot to stay for a while and play games, sit on the deck and relax. Homey friendly feel. Plenty of space especially upstairs to spread out. Had a great time, thank you!!

Great summer retreat.

Quiet and secluded spot that really let our group relax. We had a great visit. Only negative was the ceiling fan setup. Unable to get the fans to work independently of each other. And there was trash left in the garage from previous visitors. All in all, great place to hang out in the mountains.
