Welcome to Gulf Dunes Resort, on beautiful Okaloosa Island. The powdery, sugar-white sands found here are unique to this exclusive area, and if you are fortunate enough to vacation here, you'll experience a beach vacation like nowhere else in the US. The island atmosphere of Okaloosa eliminates the crowded found in nearby Destin, while putting you within minutes of Destin Harbor and all of the attractions of the Emerald Coast.

Gulf Dunes Resort, unit 309 is decorated in a fun and colorful theme, offering an away-from-home feel the minute you walk in. You'll immediately notice the breathtaking, direct ocean view from your private fourth floor balcony. This upscale condominium is perfect for a family of 6, seeking a direct ocean view from the private balcony. The master bedroom has balcony access with views of the ocean, has a king bed with tv, and a private master bath with a double vanity. The second bedroom has a queen bed and direct access to the 2nd bathroom. The bonus room has bunk beds, perfect for kids. There is a full size laundry room for your extras, and includes a full size washer and dryer. Tile and carpeted floors throughout, granite countertops, upgraded appliances and original decor are luxury upgrades and unique to unit 309. Playing dolphins and daily sunrises are visible from your balcony, which is a perfect 4 floors above sea level. Okaloosa Island is located just west of Destin and Harborwalk Village. All of Destin's attractions are within minutes of your door while you enjoy the seclusion and beauty of Okaloosa Island. Visit this unit, and see for yourself.

We provide bed linens, blankets, bath towels, etc. Please bring your own beach towels. Each Gulf Dunes unit has a private washer and dryer for your convenience. This rental will also include free WiFi and free Beach Service (1 set).

About the area: Okaloosa Island is part of a 30 mile stretch of continuous natural sand barrier. The ocean here is typically as clear as any water can be, with an emerald green color unique to this small area. The sands are pure white and powdery, like sugar, and the beaches are kept immaculately clean and safe by wonderful Okaloosa County authorities. There is plenty of fun right here on the island, from putt putt golf, to outdoor grills to fine dining and nightlife. We have a fishing pier just a mile away, which is also the home of the original Gulfarium Dolphin Exhibit. Take the kids to the Gulfarium to see dolphins perform, as well as their friends the walrus, sea lions, and penguins. They'll love it.

Okaloosa Island is located within Fort Walton Beach and near world famous Destin. Destin, a beautiful 10 minute drive to the East, where she will meet you with a picturesque view of the Destin Harbor at Harborwalk Village. Destin is home to the largest private Gulf Fishing Fleet and busiest charter deep sea fishing fleet in the Southeast. If you are interested in good seafood, then just pick one of Destin's many dockside grills for a taste of the day's fresh catch.

Great Mini Vacation!

From the check-in to the check-out, this condo was a great place to stay. The unit was clean with everything you need in the kitchen. Plenty of room for all 6 of us. The view from the balcony was beautiful and so close to the beach. We will definitely be back. Thank You!

Best View in the County

We were very pleased with this experience. Best reserved parking spot in the entire condo. The beach chair service inclusion is a great benefit to this rental. The communication and entire experience was very pleasant, and would recommend to anyone seeking a vacation destination.

Another lovely 3 bedroom condo with a beautiful ocean view! Comfort like home, but being from Illinois we don't have the ocean in front of us! We've rented through Sunset for a number of years now, and they have never disappointed us with their selection of properties, the upkeep and service.

Great Family Building

We loved our stay in the unit. It wasn't fancy but super clean and everything worked great. The kitchen plates/cups/skillets need some updating and the dishwasher didn't dry the dishes well. I would also request they add towel bars to the smaller bathroom and towel rings to hang the hand towels on. But the sheets were great quality. The bed slept well. Everything was super clean and the covered parking was wonderful We had excellent experiences with the people who put the beach chairs out. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.

This was great. Clean, spacious right on the beach! Stores and restaurants are super close to Destin so we can go down there for other adventures. We definitely found the place we are coming back to every year!!!!

There were no garbage bags, no toilet paper, no paper towels. There was no bathtub., at all. Pictures had bathtubs. With 2 small children a bathtub is a must and we would not have stayed there if we knew there was no bathtub.

Great stay!

Everything was as advertised and condo was clean. We had a great time and would stay again. My only complaint is that the jets did not work in master bath. With that being said I don't think that part was advertised.

Had a great time. Condo was very clean and very convenient to the beach. It needs a little tender loving care like the blinds going to the patio, The patio door was hard to open and shut, and the fridg has a broken shelf, but besides that I got more than I paid for and will recommend it to my friends.

We have stayed on Okaloosa Island for the past 20+ years, each Labor Day week, at a handful of properties. Obviously, we love the location. The layout of Gulf Dunes condos is definitely sufficient for 4 adults and a couple of children. This property could use some updating. There is not ample space to unpack your luggage. When you stay for 9 days, it is difficult to live out of a suitcase on the floor. The towels were close to ragged, ice maker leaked, a couple of the chairs were wobbly and screws would fall out. Overall, this property was average.

Awesome Stay

We have stayed with Sunset Resorts for many years and have come to expect nothing but the best, And they never disappoint. The Condo is always super clean and welcoming. There is plenty of kitchen items that are needed for preparing and cooking meals. Bedrooms are well arranged and beds are comfy. The seating in the living room is comfy and allows for a great view of the beautiful crashing waves. Many times we sit on the balcony and watch the dolphins play. We love that this unit comes with a covered parking space. The reservation staff is top notch they are always ready and willing to help with the reservation process and with great suggestions on where to stay. A five star company and a five star stay!

Everything was honestly perfect

I definitely recommend Gulf Dunes room 309 at Sunset Resort in Ft Walton. The condo was spotless and the view was amazing! Easy access to the pool and the beach. Covered parking was also nice. The location is great. Shopping and restaurants all within just a Mile or two. We had a great time, we will be back.

Relaxing week!

Gulf Dunes 309 was a nice condo for the price! It was easily accessible and the parking spot was super convenient, as it's as close as you can be to the front desk, elevators & the beach access! The condo was pretty clean and had everything that we needed. Check in and Check out were a breeze! The unit was spacious and although we only had 4 people, it could easily sleep 8. The only complaint that I have is that the beds were not comfortable. We slept in the master bedroom with the king size bed and it was hard as a rock! It needs a mattress topper or to be replaced altogether. The condominium is close to several restaurants and a short drive to Destin. Overall, we had a fabulous time! We would definitely rent at Gulf Dunes again!

Actually everything was good in the condo, it was clean and in decent repair. Had a minor concern with slow draining tub drain and Sunset Resort was there within 20 minutes to fix the problem. Surprisingly the beds were pretty comfortable, however, the living room furniture is worse than awful and is in desperate need of replacing. We were in the condo for 10 days, with a church convention therefore we had several evenings of having friends over to fellowship an the furniture was so uncomfortable we ended up bringing in the balcony chairs to sit and visit. IF this furniture were replaced this would be an excellent condo and we would look forward to using it again.
