Spacious Lakefront Home, Private Dock & Beach, Elevator, Stunning Views

Special lakefront retreat with 7 bedrooms enjoying breathtaking views of the lake and mountains. Private dock for your boat, jet skis and other water sport activities. You will have the use of our kayaks, a canoe, a paddle boat and paddle boards along with life jackets for all ages. The backyard is perfectly suited for family activities including a private sandy beach. Widely considered one of the nicest homes on the lake, 1 mile from the historic town of Grand Lake, 5 minutes from Rocky Mtn. National Park.

Built new in 2019 with approximately 5,000 square feet on 3 floors, this home has never been available for rent before summer 2025. We are a new host to Vrbo and therefore do not have any reviews. However, we assure you that we will do everything possible to help make your stay a positive, enjoyable and memorable experience.

This property provides more privacy than most homes on Shadow Mountain Lake since the distance between neighbors is further apart. There are two flatscreen TV’s, one in the great room on the main floor and one in the family room on the lower floor. Both TV’s have regular programming and some streaming services. Pet friendly, your dogs are allowed but no cats.

Of the seven bedrooms, four have king sized beds to provide more comfort for adult couples. The four bunkbeds (8 total beds) gives plenty of room for the children along with a baby crib. There is an elevator to all three floors that allows those who have difficulty climbing stairs to come and enjoy the mountains. And the sandy beach can keep children occupied for hours.

The charming and historic town of Grand Lake is only one mile away and has wonderful local shops and restaurants. In town, you will also find boat and other water sport rentals, mini-golf, go-carts, summer bingo, art and craft shows, a great children's playground and much more. The 300-seat Rocky Mountain Repertory Theatre provides professional level entertainment throughout the summer and fall.

The western entrance to the world-famous Rocky Mountain National Park along with its picturesque hiking trails and alpine lakes is only 5 minutes away. The Grand Lake area also has much to offer in the winter months with a thousand miles of snowmobiling trails, a free tubing hill, cross-country skiing at the golf course and snowshoeing. Ski nearby at Granby Ranch and Winter Park.

Description of each floor:

Upper Level: Enter the home on the upper level with stunning views of the lake and mountains. Two bedrooms with king beds, one bedroom with two twin beds and one room with a baby crib and a bunk bed and two full bathrooms.

Main Floor: Primary bedroom with king bed and ensuite bathroom. Great room with couches and chairs to enjoy good conversation, a two-floor stone fireplace, flat-screen TV, spacious kitchen with island, stove, oven, dishwasher, microwave and Keurig coffee maker, indoor eating area for 16 people, powder room and laundry room with washer and dryer.

Main Floor Outdoor Deck: A propane grill, a table with eight chairs under a covered patio, other deck chairs for sitting and enjoying the lake and mountain views on this spacious outdoor deck.

Lower Floor: A large family room with toys and a flat-screen TV, one bedroom with a king-size bed, a bunk room with three two-level bunk beds (6 beds), a full bathroom and lower level garage with lake access and water sports equipment.

Backyard: Perfectly suited for family activities including a grass lawn, private sandy beach, several chairs, private boat dock, 4 kayaks, 1 canoe, 1 paddle boat and 2 paddle boards along with sufficient paddles for all the water sports equipment. And enjoy the wildflowers.

Other things to note
Important Information

Renters will be required to sign an “Assumption of risk, release of liability and indemnity agreement” which includes but is not limited to renters assuming all risk of injury or death to anyone using this property and releases and indemnifies the owner of any liability. Please read the agreement carefully before signing.

Guests will be sent directions to the home and access codes a couple of days before arrival.

Absolutely no events or parties allowed which includes bachelor and bachelorette parties and all wedding related events. If you are hosting a small event, you must get approval first.

Pet friendly. Bring your dogs but please keep them off the furniture and clean up their waste outside. Absolutely no cats allowed due to potential allergies for future guests. A $200 additional cleaning fee will be charged for any trace of a cat.

County regulations do not allow cars to be parked on county roads. You can park 5-6 cars on property so please do not exceed that number at any time, even if guests are visiting during the day. The property has exterior security cameras (no voice) around the house.

The boat dock is only in the lake and available for use from late May to late September.

There is a county noise ordinance from 7 pm to 7 am. Please be considerate of the neighbors by not playing loud music at any time both day or night.

This is a family-owned home that is rented out when it is not being used by the family. It is considered as one of the nicest properties on the lake and we appreciate your treating it like your own home during your visit. We will do everything to help make your stay a memorable and enjoyable experience.

Our family had a wonderful stay at Dave’s house on the lake. I would rate it 6 stars all around if I could! Just the best….we were all so impressed with the architecture, the setting, the views. Even the weather was top-notch! Thank you , Dave, for helping to make our family gathering so memorable. We’re all looking forward to returning some day!
