Perfect spot for a North shore Kauai vacation. You are ten min from perfect beaches, great restaurants (I recommend Avalon Gastropub), hikes, groceries, anything you could want. The home was generously well equipped with everything we could need and was comfortable for our kids, our parent and ourselves. I highly recommend it!

This is a great location and comfortable house! Ample beach towels/gear and kitchen supplies. The host was very helpful and actually had our laundry done for us since the dryer was waiting for a repair.

Cute little bungalow, great location. Interior is showing its age a little, but it was clean and everything worked well except clothes dryer. Host was very communicative and provided an alternative right away. We would love to come back!

Sure! Here’s the corrected version:Overall, we had a good stay, and the linens and beds were very comfortable. The air conditioning worked great, and everything else seemed to function well. However, there were several cleanliness concerns that affected our experience. The house had a musty, stale odor throughout our stay, and the bath towels smelled strongly of mildew or mold. The downstairs bathroom had such a bad smell that we weren’t able to use it. We also noticed visible mold on the upstairs windows and inside the washing machine. Additionally, the listing stated there would be six beach towels, but only four were provided. The internet also barely worked throughout our stay, making it difficult to stay connected.Unfortunately, the overall odor throughout the home was the biggest issue for us and is the main reason we would not choose to stay here again. We were pretty let down, especially considering how much we paid for the property. While we appreciated the comfortable beds and that everything else generally worked well, we hope these issues are addressed so future guests have a better experience.

We are a family of four who first discovered Kauai nearly 30 years ago. What began as a simple vacation quickly became something deeper—the island’s beauty, spirit, and friendships we built here touched us in ways we could never have imagined. Over time, Kauai called us back again and again, until we finally decided to set down roots.

Our hearts are forever split between Kauai and California. Life has taken us through challenges—our family home was lost in the Woolsey Fire while we were here on island—but those moments gave us perspective and reminded us what truly matters: family, community, and the simple joys of life.

Our little cottage is the realization of a dream shared by all four of us—surfers, seekers, and philosophers at heart. It’s a place where the rhythm of the ocean and the calm of the mountains come together, offering both inspiration and rest.

We’ve chosen to share our home with those who carry that same zest for life—people who know the value of slowing down, embracing beauty, and creating memories with loved ones.

Aloha & welcome to our family’s dream retreat! We first came to Kauai over 20 years ago, and the island’s magic kept calling us back until we finally set roots here. Though we live part-time in Malibu, our hearts are split between “The Bu” and this special corner of the North Shore.
