Great place. Only issue was the nearly constant barking at all hours of a pack of dogs across the stream behind the house. Had to close the windows at night, which was unfortunate. Even a dog lover would find the constant howling grating while on vacation. Still, we loved the location, and the helpful guide books. The roosters were loud, too.

The treehouse was a great place to stay; our favorite space was the screened in lanai. We were aware of the barking dogs & roosters crowing at all hours of the day, but the road noise was a bit unexpected & since the entrance to the property was right at the double one way bridges, it was challenging to enter/exit to the property without a 2 point turn or driving slightly further down the road to turn around for the entrance. We also had a few little friends (lizards) who kept us company throughout the week—my kids loved it. There were ants in attendance, but we kept our food in the microwave, fridge or in containers & there were no problems. The washer & dryer are large and easily accommodated the big, fluffy beach towels provided. We were close to Hanalei & utilized the nearby market & coffee shop often.

Charming house in Waniha

This house is beautiful and relaxing and is in the middle of luxurious nature,. It is close to Tunnel beach and Haena state park. The only negative point is the noise from one of the very closeby bridges when the cars are passing by and from the roosters during the night. However, if you have good ear plugs it should allow you to sleep well. The beds are very comfortable and each room has its balcony.. We really enjoyed our stay in this beautiful area!

tropical oasis family vacation

We loved our stay at the Treehouse. It was roomy, clean and comfortable for everyone in our family. The location is nice and secluded from the main road and about 10 minutes from Hanalei town which was convenient. The beaches nearby were breathtakingly beautiful. Note that the stairs are very steep so older family may have a harder time getting up to the house. The neighbor next door complained about us walking on his property though we were not aware that what we thought was a road was actually his driveway so make sure not to make this mistake because he's not very nice about it. Other than that it was a great stay.

Treehouse in Paradise

The house was great for our family of five plus one. You can feel a little sway in the house but I expected that with it sitting on such long stilts. The screen doors in the master bedroom need to replaced as they wouldn't stay on track when opened or closed. All in all, I would definitely stay there again.

It had good access to beautiful hikes and beaches, and wasn't set right in the middle of tourists. The washer was not working for the duration of our stay which was something we were counting in when we packed, and the home lost power one night and into the morning, but overall the house was really nice and these are issues that I believe were only specific to our stay and the rental as a whole. I would recommend the Tree House for families wishing to experience Kauai with a unique home base. It was well cared for, and had plenty of room.

Unfortunately, the availability of appliances and their repairs or replacements is a persistent challenge in our island setting. The power outage was an effect of the rain storm we had over the weekend that made the news for a record 12 inches of rainfall in hours. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Truely a unique location- a tree house a few miles outside of Hanalei. Great beaches nearby, as well as all the shops and restaurants in Hanalei. The Tree House lived up to its name, we felt like we were sleeping in a tropical jungle with a babbling stream nearby and a canopy of tropical trees and plants. While the accommodations were amazing, the support from RE/MAX Kauai was tremendous. Like everyone else in Hawaii, we were directed to evacuate during a tsunami warning. Our property manager reached out immediately upon the evacuation notice and found temporary shelter for the night so we didn’t have to sleep in our car! With all the roads closed, evacuation orders in effect for so many areas, we greatly appreciated the support from RE/MAX Kauai and would use them for all future trips.

The treehouse is beautiful, spacious, tidy and extremely well stocked. I was pleased to find beach towels, beach chairs, and a beach umbrella available for use. There was plenty of coffee, towels, toilet paper, detergent, games. and puzzles. As others mentioned, there were some bugs but given the proximity to river and forested area, I am not surprised. We were pleased to welcome 2 cute lizard visitors in the house as well! The location is amazing! You are close to Hanalei, Tunnels, and Ke’e Beach. The only downside really was the noise. The neighboring dogs and road noise are loud. It disrupted our sleep most nights. The property management company suggests that you call the local humane society regarding the dogs, which seems wild to me. I am not sure why they would ask paying customers to call the humane society on a neighbor’s dogs. Disposable ear plugs would be a nice addition to the property. The nightly rates were not bad for the space but once the 360 cleaning fee and over 200 processing fee was added on, the rate seems less fair considering the noise. 10/10 would stay again if were not for noise and cost. For what we paid, I was disappointed to be woken up at 4 am every day.

We also appreciate your understanding that living in a lush tropical environment means the occasional gecko or island critter may stop by. Many guests enjoy our little gecko visitors, as they help keep insects under control! We're sorry that the neighborhood noise affected your sleep. While the sounds of local roosters, dogs, and occasional road traffic are unfortunately beyond our control, we understand how important a good night's rest is. We appreciate your feedback regarding the suggestion to contact the local humane society. That information was intended to provide guests with an option should there be an ongoing disturbance, but we understand your perspective and will review how that recommendation is communicated. We also appreciate your suggestion about providing disposable earplugs and will certainly consider adding them as an additional guest amenity. Regarding the cleaning and processing fees, we understand these charges can add up. The cleaning fee reflects the extensive work required to thoroughly prepare the home for each guest. We stayed here 5 nights with our daughter’s family (8 & 10 yr old daughters). We loved the atmosphere but you should know the dogs are loud in the evening (barking of 15 to 30 minutes) and the roosters crow a few times around 2:00 and then in the early morning. You get use to it, but part of Hawaii. The girls loved the openness of the house, especially the porch. We would stay here again.

It was nice to have the beach towels, chairs, and boogie boards to use. The kitchen had spices and oils to help with cooking which was super nice. The only thing that was hard is it is a little noisy. Dogs barking at night and chickens waking you up super early! Other than that it was great!

Comfortable, beautiful, surrounded by nature.

Everyone in our family loved staying at the Tree House. The house was clean, the furnishings comfortable, and the kitchen well-equipped. The common areas were set up in ways that everyone can be comfortable. We loved the fresh air through the open windows and appreciated the fans on warmer afternoons. This house is surrounded by all different kinds of trees. The wild life includes geckos and different birds, including roosters (who crow on their own schedules). The setting is so relaxing, though, the roosters didn't bother most of us. On clear nights, many stars are visible from the front lanai. That was a treat. We absolutely loved staying here, and would definitely go back. Mahalo nui!

North Shore Retreat

We stayed 4 nights at the tree house. The place fit our party of 7 comfortably and was a great retreat after days at the beach. The kitchen was well stocked with cooking utensils and there were 2 fridges. Some things to consider. There is a lot of outside noise at night (Cars over bridge & roosters), so make sure to bring ear plugs. Also, there is no cell phone coverage. The wifi worked great though! The stairs are steep so it does takes some muscle to carry suitcases up.
