The famous Virginia home of George and Martha Washington, Mount Vernon, is a half hour by taxi or car and an easy bike ride down the famous George Washington Parkway bike bath. The enviable location of Cameron House makes Old Town very walkable (we are a 99 walk scale). Old Town is just outside of D.C. and you can one of two metros from Old Town straight into the city. Hop on our cute free Old Town trolley (one block away) to King St Metro and take the Blue or Yellow metro line into DC. We are also bike-friendly and have a bike trail steps from Cameron House to the National Mall, and even to Mount Vernon – the estate where George Washington lived.
