This home is incredible!!! It was absolutely clean, had all the amenities and a view of the mountains that’s indescribable! The host couldn’t be any more approachable and had all needs covered! Would never hesitate to return to this heaven on earth spot.

Absolutely stunning property with breathtaking views. The fireplaces made the home feel incredibly cozy, and the fully equipped kitchen had everything we needed for our stay. We had a wonderful experience and would definitely stay here again!

Warm and cozy. Perfect view. Convenient to the less-utilized Thornton entrance to the national park. Amazing escape. I would highly recommend this place for nature immersion and beautiful sunsets from the deck. Thank you for sharing your home with us!

This place sits on a spectacular scenic overlook and offers wonderful amenities, including a BBQ and a hot tub. With its large windows, you can enjoy panoramic mountain views throughout the day, then relax in the hot tub under the stars at night. We visited in November and can’t wait to return again in the summer!

Mystic Pines was exactly what my wife and I were looking for, for our first anniversary: somewhere just outside the city with stunning views, peace, and quiet. The cabin itself is extremely well appointed, and while it makes a good base camp for exploring the area, you won’t want to leave.

Wonderful property. The cabin itself is beautiful, clean, and well-furnished and it's got a great view of the mountains as well, visible from either inside through the glass wall, or from the spacious balcony complete with hot tub. Big enough for a large group, but we really enjoyed it with our smaller group of 6 as well.The drive in can be a bit steep at times, but the gravel road is well maintained and easy to navigate. Both an upper balcony and a lower patio give lots of space to spend outside, and there are multiple 'hang out' spaces inside in addition to the bedrooms and main living room (a side room with a fireplace, a lofted reading room upstairs, the entirety of the basement's second living room.)About 20 minutes south of Front Royal so supplies aren't too far, but you're enough removed to see plenty of stars on a clear night. There's a trailhead in walking distance and more a short drive away.Check-in was easy, and the host was communicative, responsive, and helpful. Would definitely stay here again!

A wonderful, relaxing time! My family thoroughly enjoyed ourselves taking in the stunning views and cozying up for movie nights and homemade meals. We especially loved how easy it was for all of us to maneuver around the kitchen without getting in each other’s way. A beautiful experience that we will cherish for a very long time.

We really enjoyed our stay at Mystic Pines. The home was cozy, clean, and well equipped. The views are spectacular!! We enjoyed both the cabin and many of the things the surrounding area offered. Hiking at the state park, geocaching, area wineries, and more.Communication was great and appreciated them checking in to make sure all was well. We will definitely consider returning in the future.

Beautiful property with stunning views. It was exactly what I needed to relax from hectic schedule. So peaceful to sit in hot tub and hear nothing but nature…BEYOND expectations! I am a lover of log cabins and this one did not disappoint - every room/space was gorgeous. Looking up while reading in the library to see the spectacular views was unmatched! On a personal note - owner Jim was very helpful in assisting me and answering questions. Can’t wait to come back!

We had a very nice stay for six adults over a long weekend. The views are absolutely gorgeous! The host responded quickly when we had a question. The living room furniture was very comfortable and cozy in front of the fireplace! The only reasons one star was deducted were that the non-king beds were not particularly comfortable (very firm spring mattresses), and the sulfur smell from the water/bathrooms was pretty strong after showers. Otherwise, it was an idyllic weekend in peaceful surroundings. No regrets!

Everything about Mystic Pines is absolutely perfect! Every year a group of five of us come to this area for our annual girls trip! It is safe to say that we have finally found our favorite place! The owners are very responsive, friendly, and welcoming. The check in process was super easy. The kitchen, and home, had everything we needed! We spent some well needed time on the deck enjoying the sunshine, amazing view and the beautiful evening sky. The house is very cozy and close to Front Royal and several local attractions! The responsiveness of the owners and cleanliness of the home is top notch! We will definitely be back!

Me and my family enjoyed our stay the location and craftsmanship of the home is incredible. The owner was easy to communicate with and was very friendly and offered recommendations on things do to in the area. Overall the home was clean but it is in need of a dusting and had lots of cob webs but that didn’t really bother us. It was a bit strange that we had to bring our own sheets and pillow cases, but we were not made aware of this until after booking our stay. The upstairs bathroom had an oder like the septic fumes were maybe leaking in maybe the plumbing needs a P trap or something but I didn’t investigate that. Overall it’s still such a beautiful home I didn’t mind these small things I’d still stay here again.

9.5/10. Beautiful property. Nice and secluded as well. Jim was very nice and easy to get a hold of as well. The place was clean, especially for a cabin retreat. The no-pets policy helps I think. I usually get allergies whenever I stay at cabins and that wasn't the case here. Kitchen was nice and big and stocked well. The main areas got tons of natural light and the bedrooms were comfortable as well and could get dark if you wanted to sleep in. I appreciated having 3 bathrooms as well. The area has a few good spots for tourists as well including several hikes and cave systems. There were just a few things I think could have made everything a 10. The beds do not come with linens (which I found unusual and the host was able to resolve this). Not docking a point for this, but it's something to be aware of. Especially for a larger gathering, bringing along linens for 5 beds can take up a good portion of your bag space. There weren't any toiletries in the bathrooms outside of hand soap. Again, I usually expect just some basic, cheap shampoo and maybe a body wash. Would go a long way to not having to think about bringing that stuff. There is a campground nearby and although it was quiet most of the time we were there, they were playing loud music during sunset one day. Not a huge deal, but it sort of breaks the immersion of being in nature. Excellent spot, would definitely consider going again.
