Whimsical beach getaway

Home was very comfortable and cozy! We are definitely staying again! Perfect yard for our fur baby! Absolutely loved the convenience and area. Thank you Marty for allowing us to enjoy your whimsical paradise with the best backyard in the world!

Excellent host & spot. Just like a house on the beach...wait, it was & whatta treat. Took us back in time & provided a GREAT stay for us & guests. NOTHING like being that close to the beach. The decor, water toys, patio & story of the Lott family brought it all together.Thanx for a great 2 weeks

Top Notch Vacation Property

Best beach house I’ve ever rented! I have nothing negative to say. From check in to departure, it was one great day after another. From the view to the comfort, no complaints at all. The owner was fantastic to deal with!

Amazing Views.

This property has the most amazing view of the Gulf. Me and my family needed some time away from the big city and found this beautiful home and quite Sunnyside. This home was well stocked with everything and anything you will need. No one will be disappointed in renting this home, we will be back. Thank you so much to Marty Bush for making checkin and checkout a breeze.

Lotts of Sun

We had an issue once arriving at the property and Marty immediately answered / fixed the problem. He made sure we had everything we needed for our stay. The location couldn’t have been more perfect. The views in the backyard are breathtaking. We brought our pups who thoroughly enjoyed the yard as well. Would stay again!

Can't wait to go back!

A few of my friends and I booked this house for a week last year and it was PERFECT. The house is right on the beach, so it was convenient that we didn't have to pack a beach bag for a whole day. We were able to go out for just an hour or two at a time. The outside shower was my favorite part (it's hidden, so no creepers AND the home was the perfect distance from the night life. Far enough away from the crazies, but close enough if we wanted to go out. We will definitely rent here again!

Awesomeness!

This house and location cant be beat! We had a party of 6, including 4 adults and 2 kids, and were very comfortable. The house has every thing you need to enjoy the beach and a laid back vacation. Marty is an outstanding host, making sure you have everything you need. Being able to walk out the back door right on the beach is the best. The outside shower is phenomenal, also. Enjoyed watching the purple martins do their thing every morning, too! Will definitely be back soon!

Relaxing House on the Beach

Our family had a wonderful time at this beach house. Everything was as promised and described. This area on the beach was quiet - even during spring break season. The walkway to the beach was close and the back deck gave great views of the beach and sunset. The main house and guest house were clean and provided everything we needed. We had to contact Marty with a question and he responded immediately with an answer. The house is close to the grocery store and within easy travel distance to local attractions. I would recommend this house to anyone looking for family getaway and we would definitely consider this for any future vacation plans.

Lots of fun !

We had a very relaxing time on our vacation.. The advertisement for the“worlds smallest shower”. ,would be correct, but the beautiful backyard and the view made that the smallest thing to be concerned about. The outside shower was definitely the way to go! The main room had plenty of room and seating for all of us. The kitchen was very nice..The beach house is probably one of the last of its kind.. all one level and no stairs. I would stay there again!

Quiet and Peaceful

We had a great time at this little cottage. Unfortunately, it was so hot and humid the week we were here, that we didn't really get out and enjoy the beach nearly as much as we had wanted. We did go down and walk along the shore at night, however. The house was very clean, but needs some updating of furniture (nothing that affected our stay.) There are only 2 things that weren't up to par, for us. 1.) There was not enough toilet paper available, for use. The guest bathroom didn't have any at all. 2.) Because it was so hot, the temperature never got below 72/73 in the house. We prefer it colder, especially when sleeping. However, we enjoyed our trip very much and would recommend this place to others! Can't wait til the day we get back down the Gulf!

We are so glad that you enjoyed your stay. Wish we could have done something about the heat wave. :-) Being right on the beach makes it easy to go for walks along the shore line at night or stay on the back porch and watch people chasing crabs with their flashlights. We do not supply paper products. Our cleaning crew will often leave a roll of paper towels and toilet paper to get guest through their first day until they go to the store. As for the air conditioning, I wish you had contacted me. It was just serviced the week before you were there and the technician would have been happy to come back out. Thanks for the offer to recommend 'Lotts of Sun' to others and we hope to hear from you when you plan your next trip to the world's most beautiful beaches!

Beautiful beach haven

We were looking for immediate access to a quiet stretch of white sand beach, away from crowds but near great dining and attractions. This property was a home run! The white sand beach is perfection. There were a few families and couples around. Once in a while college kids from the Christian retreat center came out but they are pretty quiet. We basically had our own private beach during our stay. The cottage itself is comfortable and peaceful and filled with sun all day long. The main living space is bright and cheery. Bedrooms and bathrooms are clean comfortable and functional. The guest house was fine for our teenager. We loved stretching our legs for 60 second walk to the house to refill our drinks then sprawling on the beach again. Any dining or store you could possibly want is within 10-15 minutes. We didn't cook in the kitchen so can't comment on that except that it was perfect for whipping up simple breakfasts and picnic lunches, and frozen cocktails. You can see the course of development along the beach and I assume this cottage and the others like it will eventually be replaced with three story multi unit construction. Nothing wrong with new construction but the beach will lose some history and character without perfect cozy places like this. We will treasure our stay here and if we are lucky maybe even get to visit again. A real treasure.

Great location but poorly maintained property !

This is an honest review based on the recent trip to this location. We booked this family trip for 9 nights but we ended up leavimg three days earlier because we could not stand the unpleasant property despite the beautiful view and location . Marty Bush the owner tried to accomodate us and refunded us partial for the three days but the house needs to be checked and updated properly for having a decent stay. For the money we paid we only ask for esentials that every human being needs as such: a comfortable matress and a decent shower. We could not sleep for several nights . Everything is from 1900 except the kitchen appliances and termostat. The smell in the front little house is terrible ( one room with a bathroom ) . The shower in the main house is very small as stated on VRBO but with broken drain cover with a hole in it. M bedroom matress has the edges very high and goes down in the middle which is imposible to sleep on. Doors locks are super old and squick at every single touch . In the master half bathroom the sink and toilet are NOT at the confort height and is a struggle for tall people.There are lots of things to say but I will stop here. We did not enjoy our stay and we will not recommand this place to anybody.

If they wanted to write an honest review, they would have started by saying that we exchanged texts the day of their arrival and two days later, and they did not mention anything was wrong with the home. In my Welcome letter that they received, I ask guests to let me know immediately if there is a problem. I would have been happy to send my housekeeper and/or handyman over to resolve any of their issues. The only thing they communicated was regarding how to turn on the AC. Six days into their stay they asked for a refund. Most of their complaints are things that are stated in our listing (the shower is tiny, there is only a space heater in the guest bedroom, the home was built in 1960 and is not fancy). In fact, my Vrbo rep didn’t think I should give them a refund. Yet I did, and I tried to get Vrbo to refund a pro-rated portion of their booking fees and the taxes Vrbo collected. Vrbo declined. • Before they arrived we cut off portions of the toilets and vanities to make them shorter - 🤣 (we have standard size toilets, vanities and cabinets in our home) In all honesty, please take a look at our 76 reviews, sixty of them are 5-star and eleven are 4-star. We have been renting for 6 years and have hosted 1,000 of guests. You can’t please everybody...

Our family had a wonderful stay here. The home is charming and you can see the love the owners have put into it. Everything was very clean, and we loved the “old Florida” vibes! The beachfront views (and boardwalk right off the driveway) were spectacular and made for a relaxing trip - our teens could sleep in while we went to the beach, and we were always in their sight lines from the home! We also enjoyed the location - the beaches here were quieter and less crowded than many nearby areas, yet we could make a quick drive for outings in Panama City or 30A. Buddy’s Seafood had fantastic fish and boiled shrimp, and we thought Old Florida Fishhouse was great as well. My only small con is that the listing noted a pool, and that did not come to fruition. In the end, the beach and home were plenty entertaining. It’s worth noting the home and kitchen were well stocked for cooking, etc., and with essentials like TP, paper towels, cleaning supplies.

Jennifer, thank you so much for the kind review, I am glad that your family had such a wonderful time! You mention so many places and things that make us love our little classic beach cottage. In regards to the pool, we've hit a lot of red tape with all the local/state & federal regulations due to being right on the beach. As mentioned in our listing, we now hope to install a stock tank pool this winter. But before doing that, we're also looking into a container pool. We'll keep our listing updated, and really hope to see you guys back again!!

We absolutely loved our stay! It’s in the perfect location and it’s very peaceful! The whole process was so smooth. The house was so cozy and comfy and the view was beautiful! The master bedroom has the most comfortable bed! We will definitely be booking again!

Marty’s no frills beach house was perfect for our family! Would definitely stay here again.

Great location and the fenced in beachfront backyard was a bonus since we brought our pups! Had a maintenance issue and Marty was super responsive and got resolved asap. Would highly recommend and would stay here again.

I love everything about this house! I found the description and illustrations of the place to be accurate. It was great to have an outdoor shower. This will not be our last visit. The details Marty provided were extremely helpful, and he responded to questions promptly.
