Seahaven Cottage- a beach-front, pet friendly cottage on Prime Hook Beach

Welcome to Seahaven Cottage—a cozy seaside escape with an easy, open floor plan and a shady bayside deck perfect for lounging (yes, there’s an outdoor shower too!). Inside, you’ll find gleaming hardwood floors, sun-filled windows, and a bright modern kitchen ready for your vacation cooking—or takeout nights.

Spend your days soaking up the sun, paddling the calm bay waters, kayaking along the shoreline, or biking through protected wetlands. At night, kick back in the cool AC, sip something refreshing, and watch the sky put on a show—sunrises over the Delaware Bay and sunsets over Primehook National Wildlife Refuge are truly unforgettable.

Bringing your pup? We’ve got you covered—we’re dog-friendly and even have a fenced-in yard, so your best friend can relax, too. Keep in mind our house is pet friendly with a pet fee (please make sure you count your pet on your search for open dates)!

The bay beaches here are quiet and peaceful—perfect if you’re craving a slower pace and a deeper connection with nature. Our cottage is clean, well cared for, and thoughtfully stocked to make your stay comfortable.

And when you’re ready for a little more action, we’re just 15 minutes to shops and groceries in Milton, and about 30 minutes to the fun, dining, and beaches of Lewes and Rehoboth.

We like to travel without surprises, so we do everything we can to make sure your stay is smooth, easy, and memorable.

Notes-
1. The TVs in the cottage is a smart TVs. Should you desire, you may use your Netflix, Hulu (etc) account on that TV. Please make sure you sign out of your account before you leave!

2. We do not provide linens. Please bring 2 sets of queen sheets and 2 twin sets for beds and towels for the bath and beach. If you prefer to rent them please visit 227rent.com and they can drop off and pick up anything you will need

The home was absolutely beautiful and the location was perfect. The fenced in yard made it convenient for us with having our dogs with us, and the deck was relaxing in the evenings.

Third summer spending a week at this beach house. Steps from the beach, fence for the dog, and comfortable interior with adequate kitchen for family meals. The addition of the flattop iron grill was a bonus!

We had a fantastic trip! The house and beach were beautiful! It’s a very quiet and relaxing beach. The house was very close to the beach and convenient for young children. We hope to be back in the future!

Seahaven is an oasis on Prime Hook Beach that is perfect for individuals or families who want to spend quality time with family and Mother Nature. The house is clean and right on the beach. Our Boston Terrier loves that house and we appreciate being able to have her on our vacation. The host and hostess are wonderful and very accommodating. We look forward to vacation in again.

The Seahaven was just that. A peaceful little haven where we could make wonderful memories and escape for a week! It had everything we needed for a week away. The kitchen was stocked well with all the things we needed to prepare meals. You will need to bring your own linens and bath towels, unless you want to rent them. Betsy is was very good with communication! She is the best host we have ever had!

The property was perfect & the beach being just over a small dune was amazing. The fenced yard was wonderful for the dogs who also totally loved running through the gentle waves. Even our 14 year old grandson was delighted with everything (and that's an achievement.) I would highly recommend Seahaven to anyone looking for a quiet stay at the beach.

Sea Haven is an amazing beach getaway! The house is spacious, well-appointed, and comfortable, and the fenced in yard, overlooking the beach, a haven for four-legged members of the family! The beach is pretty and more importantly quiet! Betsy is a perfect host, extremely responsive to communications, and a pleasure to interact with. We are already looking forward to a fall break at Sea Haven!!

Betsy’s place was just perfect for my wife, our dog and I! It was very well equipped, clean and just so cute! The location is perfect if you are looking for a nice quiet time at the beach, but it’s not too far from restaurants, stores, etc. The National Wildlife Refuge opposite the beach was just icing on the cake! Betsy and her husband were great to deal with and communicated promptly. I am used to beach house instructions saying something along the lines of “if you don’t take the trash out to the curb for pickup we will charge you a gazillion dollars”, but when I asked Betsy what night was trash night she said “you are on vacation. We will take care of it!” I’m not sure when, but we will definitely be back. We couldn’t have asked for a better place and host!

We enjoyed a wonderful stay at Seahaven! Betsy is a fantastic host and we are very grateful for how welcoming she and her family have made the home for guests. We didn't need to go anywhere else other than the grocery store. The beautiful house, the spacious deck, the excellent flat top Weber grill, the easy beach access, the gorgeous sunrises, and the naturalness of Prime Hook Beach, all tailor-made for total relaxation with plenty to enjoy. The sunrises are truly spectacular, as if the sun is pointing its beam across the water directly across the ocean and bay to the house. We almost felt like we had the entire beach and Delaware Bay to ourselves. That's what we were searching for and we received. Seahaven is spotless and so comfortable, with everything you can think of needing, from bath to kitchen to laundry to outdoors to AC to comfy beds. The details in the artwork and craft themes are really fun -- from seahorses to mermaids to starfish to shells. It's a perfect beach house just right for our family size plus beach loving doggie. Thank you, Betsy and family for sharing your home with us.

We had a fantastic time! Clean home—as expected with helpful communication, easy check in. A delightful back yard for enjoying being outside, hearing the waves-and allowing our four legged girl run free. She also loved her walks on the beach. We both did. The kitchen was great with all that we needed for meals or take out. Comfortable beds. LOVED time on our pretty much private beach!..although bug spray to keep the flies away is good to remember. Highly recommend this home for a relaxing time! My daughter flew in and it was only a two hour drive from Regan National!

Loved the house and the beach. Host was great and good communication. Clean, spacious, comfortable. Beach view fromThe house and easy walk toThe beach. We had everything we needed. I’m a frequent visitor to prime hook beach. Best beach in Delaware. Fantastic sunrises and the shells! Beach glass too. We found a whole rolling rock green glass bottle from the 1950s and a clear cola bottle from the 1920s.

This rental was perfect for our family of 5. The location to the beach was incredible. We literally unpacked and didn't have to pack anything to the beach. We were able to just take a few short steps back to the house for whatever we needed. Betsy was a very attentive host as I communicated with her several times before checking in and once after. We are beach goers and we found Primehook to be very laid back and relaxing. We drove in to Milton for dinner one night and found it charming as well. We loved bringing our four legged family member as well. And he certainly enjoyed it as well. A few things I will suggest for anyone staying here. bring bug spray if the wind is coming from the marsh the fly's are a problem but we were able to control them with some spray. Also, sine this is essentially a private beach you are responsible for beach maintenance and I highly recommend raking the sand in the morning. This also helps keep the fly's away. If you are looking for a quiet, peaceful, beach getaway this is a great option!

We had a great week. House is well equipped - plenty of dishes, cutlery, pots and pans, trash bags, toilet paper, you name it. Beds were comfortable, as were couches for movie watching. House was clean, no complaints at all.

We had a wonderful stay at “ Seahaven” beach house and couldn’t have asked for a better getaway. The private beach access was absolutely amazing and made it so easy to enjoy peaceful walks, beautiful sunrises, and relaxing days by the water without the crowds.The host was excellent with communication from start to finish, providing clear instructions and responding quickly to any questions we had. Their attention to detail made the entire experience stress-free.The community was quiet, secluded, and incredibly peaceful, which created the perfect atmosphere for rest and relaxation. The house itself was fully equipped with everything we needed and truly felt like a home away from home. From the comfortable living spaces to the thoughtful amenities, every detail contributed to a comfortable and enjoyable stay.We thoroughly enjoyed our time here at “Seahaven” and would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a relaxing beach retreat. We would gladly stay here again!Betsy Coe was an Excellent host and made this vacation memorable and an absolute delight!
