Elephant Beach House 2.0 - Stunning Views at your Secluded Bahamas Beach House

The original Elephant Beach House stood from 1969 to 2019 when Hurricane Dorian destroyed our wonderful little beach house, along with most of Great Guana Cay.

We are proud to introduce Elephant Beach House 2.0. The new place has 3 bedrooms & 3 bathrooms in 2,100 square feet. It rests upon stout 12 foot pilings, which has served to make the views even more spectacular than before. The house is mostly windows & has multiple, strategically placed doors that you can open to allow the beach breeze to blow through. The huge decks double the living space and contain 2 thatched tiki bars (one on each side of the house). There is a 16' x 8' swim/spa that overlooks the island and the Sea of Abaco. A unique teak swing is a perfect spot to take in the wonderful sunsets. There is a 12' x 12' deck down on the ground level that overlooks the beach and ocean and then continue on to the spacious stairs with comfortable landings provide additional living space to enjoy the spectacular views. Our beach is composed of some of the softest beach sand you will find anywhere in the world and is secluded (you may observe 10 people walk down the beach all day)! The house has central air and ceiling fans in generous vaulted ceilings. Every room contains huge picture windows with priceless views. The great room has a large flat screen TV with a semi-circular couch. The dining table is made of teak by artisans from Indonesia and seats 6. The spacious kitchen has a large island with 6 stylish bar stools. There is also a way-cool teak high top breakfast bar with 4 teak stools that overlooks the pool and island/Sea of Abaco view. The refrigerator & oven are a colorful retro-blue. The house is decorated throughout with beautiful tropical/island art. If you are like us, you will never want to leave. The house sits on a large lot that is 173 feet on the ocean and 750 deep with a tropical jungle surrounding the property. There is a backup diesel generator in case of power outages.

What a great location and house. Extremely clean, comfortable, and exceptionally decorated house. The beach in front of the property is second to none. The location to the dock, grocery and restaurants is perfect. Darvin was very welcoming and went above and beyond to make sure we had a great time. Would definitely return

Perfect Island Getaway!

This has to be our favorite beach that we’ve stayed on! Better than the pictures and we had the beach all to ourselves! Perfect little cottage with total privacy yet just a few minutes from restaurants, grocery and docks.

My favorite Island Getaway

We have loved this island and the EBH cottage for many years and are so happy to finally be back to visit. We love the EBH 2.0. It’s so beautiful, private, comfortable and well decorated - would love to know where you find all the cool decor and signage. Darvin was so helpful in getting us checked in, checked on us during the power outage, and helped us find some local seafood. We just love it here. Thank you for sharing your little piece of paradise.

Getting away from it all in Guana Cay

The place was just as we thought it would be , very private and right on the beach . The cottage had everything you would need , quite comfortable and you just can't beat the sound of the waves crashing on the beach as you fall asleep at night . The caretaker Darvin met us at the dock with our golf cart for the week when we arrived and he couldn't have been nicer ! I know we will be back ......

The property was great with awesome views!

Donna and I had a great time and can't wait to go back. The house was perfect for us and very private on a great beach.... We can't say enough about the house or the island. The people are so friendly and nice. The caretaker made sure we wanted for nothing, we never seen him but, he answered any questions we had right away! The overall experience was awesome and we will definitely be back! Thank you for letting us share your little piece of paradise!

Great!

My partner and I stayed at Elephant Beach House this August. The view from the property is unbelievable. It's a simple cottage, but everything you need is at your finger tips, and it's situation on the island is wonderful. If you are looking for privacy in Paradise this is the place! The owner Brian is quick to reply to any questions and the property manager, Darvin, is always there for you if you need anything during or before your stay your stay.

Special Secluded Getaway

Upon our arrival, the cottage was immaculate and warmly welcoming. We loved every aspect from the cottage, the upper deck with chairs, tables, and hammack, the picnic table deck overlooking the Atlantic and incredible beach, and the lower level deck on the beach with rocking chairs! Whatever we were doing, it was perfect... going for walks on the beach, playing in the ocean, kayaking, exploring the island in our golf cart, grilling, or heading out to the handful of wonderful restaurants. We spent several afternoons at Grabbers, time at Clyde's at Sunsetters, dinner at Sunsetters, a wonderful romantic dinner at Mermaids on the Rocks, and drinks and dinner at Captain Kidd's. The people of the island were wonderful. The ocean views were unbelievable no matter what the weather... This was an amazing escape and we can't wait to visit again!

Top Notch and Spectacular

I thoroughly disagree with the person who rated this 3 stars! This trip was our 4th visit to this property and it just keeps getting better! Rustic and charming and gorgeous views are part of what keep us coming back! Having a private place to stay on an island like Guana is amazing. If you love nature, gorgeous blue/turquoise water, amazing views in a hammock, then this place is for you! We love the fact that we can also grill as well as dine in sometimes! Darvin the caretaker is one of the best! Always there when you need him! He's fun too! Clean and comfortable accommodations and a view that's beyond words! A must see, must do destination! Wow - what a view!

We loved it. Amazing view of the Atlantic and more distant but still lovely view of the Sea of Abaco. Easy walk to Nippers, but no sound from the bar carries to the house. Beach in front of the house is wonderful. New stairs to beach are a great improvement. Loved the beach chairs and floats that were provided. The hammock and the back bedroom with the outdoor shower were my favorite part of the house. Really liked that suitcases did not need to be carried up any stairs - made the house ideal for my travel partner who is in her 70s. It's cute, kitchy and comfortable. Oh and did I mention that hammock? Paradise!

Please upgrade furniture

This home was gorgeous with amazing views. Pool is really nice. Close to the ferry and grocery but secluded enough for the feeling of a private retreat. Walking distance to Nippers from the beach. The caretaker, Darwin was extremely accessible and responsive. Now for the problems. The lack of adequate furnishings. Our group of 6 could not sit in living room as a group with the couch that seated 3. The couch was low end outdoor furniture and did not seem to fit the overall furnishings of the home. Beds are low to the ground and could be difficult to get out of. Simple kitchen utensils like tongs and a pizza cutter would be nice to have.

Perfection on Guana Cay

Oh my goodness this house. The location. The beach. The people. 3 long time friends gathered on Guana Cay at the absolute most beautiful home I've ever VRBO'd in. Beautiful, meaningful details. We all had our own private areas to hang in. Amazing kitchen. The deck rising above the 7 mile long beach is stunning. 2 tiki bars! The pool overlooking the Sea of Abaco was a great place to cool off. The location, with use of a golf cart, was terrific. A very short walk to Nippers. Or a close ride to the harbour and Grabbers, grocery store, liquor store. Brian, the owner, and Darvin, the property manager, were incredible to work with. Both answered our many questions in advance. Darvin is pretty much an ask and you shall receive type a guy, bending over backwards to make your stay on the island the best possible. So impressed with them both!I can not wait to come back to this island. Guana Cay was wiped out after 2019 Hurricane. The strength of the islanders to build back their homes and businesses is beyond inspiring. Brian's house, Nippers, Grabbers and Kidd's Cove, the market and liquor stores all rebuilt...Dive Guana(Be sure to set up a charter with them!) Just a perfect week spent in paradise. Thank you Brian and Darvin for it all!

One week stay - Great location and beach but dissapointing in other respects

Great private location. Wonderful beach and great views. Whilst its fair to say the house is advertised as rustic it was a little too rustic for our party. The house and facilities aer ordinary at best, kitchen very basic, door and windows not very functional. There was limited general storage, especially for clothes. There was a very high number of cockroaches and bugs in the house, I would have expected some but I live in Florida and this seemed very high. In general the house was not very clean and poorly maintained e.g. cook top, filter coffee pot unusable, dirt under and behind beds, holes and stains on/in bedding. The caretaker was not always helpful or responsive; e.g. – he could not confirm what was available in the house prior to arrival, the check out was 9 AM, which was not made clear until the day before we left, and after we inquired. There were other non trivial issues. If all you want is an idyllic setting and wonderful beach you may want to consider this but if you want a trouble free turn key experience I could not recommend this house, unless they make, in out view, some much needed changes.

Having stayed at the cottage 5 times per year over the past decade and having rented the cottage extensively during that time period, we have never encountered the issues that you address. Secluded Paradise

We had a wonderful stay at Elephant Beach House on Guana Cay! Like many reviewers before us, we agree that the ocean view from the cottage is the best on the island. The water changes colors constantly and was always so inviting. We spent most of the days on the property, swimming and snorkeling at the beach by the house/by Nippers or lounging on the many seats available on the decks by the cottage. We loved the tiki hut with hammock and the outdoor shower. Hanging throughout the house and tiki hut are many fun island/beach themed signs, really a nice touch. The picnic table on one deck to the beach was a perfect place to have lunch/snacks. Rarely did we see other people other than on Sunday, when people were walking the beach from Nippers. The set-up was perfect for our family, we had the master bedroom and our sons (13 & 11) enjoyed the 2nd bedroom, which is almost like it's own cottage (separate entry from the main house but it's all connected) This 2nd bedroom had the most enjoyable view of the jungle out back. While up at the house, you are completely removed from view (surrounded by the jungle blocked by the bluff from the beach). It was just so serene! The pace of Guana and "anything goes" attitude of the islanders is addictive. On a few windy afternoons we put our paddle board on our golf cart and went to the cove near Grabbers. Never did anyone question what we were doing. Like one islander told us "you can do anything on Guana as long as you are having fun". The golf cart was a great addition so we could tool around. Probably not necessary since the house is only 1/4 mile or so from the grocery store but the cart made things more convenient. Plus, how often do you get to ride a golf cart around town! We took a snorkeling trip to Fowl Cay with Dive Guana - Highly recommended - nice people, wonderful snorkeling. Our best meal on the island was at Sunsetters but we enjoyed all of the local places. Nippers was a fun atmosphere on Sunday, and a short walk up the beach from the cottage. Brian was so very responsive to my emails and Darvin was a great caretaker, meeting us at the dock with our cart and having our paddle boards at the cottage upon our arrival. When we return to Guana Cay, we will definitely be renting Elephant Beach House again! Thanks Brian for everything.

Paradise in the Bahamas

Words or pictures can not describe how amazing this house, the beach and the property are. The small town is full of friendly people. The beach is like none I have ever seen and the house is comfortable and perfect for the setting. Also the manager Darvin goes above and beyond to make sure you have everything you want.

Paradise!

The house was great, property was amazing.....such character and charm. It had everything we needed. Location is perfect. Secluded without immediate neighbors but a short walk to someplace to eat and drink. The island's grocery store is also very close to the house which was nice. Highly recommend this place and definitely will be back someday!

Perfection & Beauty in ALL Aspects

The property itself was exactly what we'd hoped, and more. From inside there are incredible ocean views from every window & set of double doors. Then each of the decks leading to the sand offered additional beauty and views - each a bit of a different perspective. Even while enjoying the outdoor shower, you have an amazing view of the bay and lush green canopy. Everything about the home, inside & out, is updated & well kept - appliances, furniture, bedding, hammock, decks, beach chairs, deck chairs... I can not say enough wonderful things about Darvin the property manager, as well as many others. Our flight was delayed and caused us to miss the last ferry of the day from Marsh Harbour. Albury's Ferry service was still able to send someone to get us over to Guana Cay that evening, making us so happy to not miss our first night at Elephant Beach House. This caused us to miss our pre-arranged meet time with Darvin. He still came back out to the dock that evening, already had our golf cart there waiting for us, and then took us to the house and showed us everything about the property...plus a mini tour of where Grabber's & Nipper's both were. We had a fabulous boat day (piggies, sharks, rays, turtles), thanks to Guana Dive - the owner Tony, and our awesome captain Suuvi (sp?) made our trip happen even though the only day we had left to make it happen was actually a holiday. Guana Dive also helped us not miss our flight home.. we missed our ferry that morning, so I went to talk to them again... Maria (Tony's wife) was so kind and helpful and is the reason we made it back to Marsh Harbour in time for our flight home. Guana Grocery had everything we needed for our 5 day stay too. The nicest young man always took our bags to the cart before you could even try and pick them up yourself. Basically, every single person we encountered, including Suzanne (pretty sure that was her name) at Nipper's, was as kind and helpful as you could imagine. To watch the sun rise to your right, and set to your left, all from your private decks was amazing! 99% of the time, your own footprints were the only ones you'd find on the beach. All in all, the energy, peacefulness, beauty and happiness of this island and everyone that calls it home is truly incredible. Absolutely can't wait to go back! JUST PERFECT!

We stayed at this beautiful property from late June into July, 2019. The owner, Brian was always very pleasant and responded quickly to each correspondence. The property manager Darvin Curry was awesome. Very friendly and attentive with everything during our stay and always responded very quickly. He made us feel like home. When we arrived the house was extremely clean thanks to Calica's attention to detail. Calica is in charge of housekeeping and cleaned once during our stay as well. This beautiful island style home has great views of the beach and a gorgeous outdoor area to relax. It is comfortably furnished inside with it's beachy decor. Very good for two or four people. Extremely enjoyable.

Three things to remember, location, location, location.

The property and photos of the property were exactly as advertised. Nicely secluded yet close to everything one might need on an island. Island time reigns supreme and the property manager is a charmer.

Our home away from home

This our second time at this property and I'm sure we will return again some day . It's not for everyone but if you are looking for a quiet , private place to get away from the real world with an amazing beach where you hardly ever see anyone else , then this is where you want to be .
