Welcome to our wonderful waterfront retreat in the woods. We continue to enjoy so many great times at the lake house and now want to share it with others.

This is a lakefront home directly on Lake Anna with 200' of prime waterfront in the sought after Pigeon Run portion of the lake. The area boasts deep water for any size boat even in the worst drought. The house has a large deck to sip your morning coffee and a covered dock where you and the kids will spend hours swimming and enjoying the water. The fishing is great right from the dock and we regularly catch nice sized catfish and bass in the early morning in late afternoon. This is a great area to waterski or tube. Some of your guests can sit on the dock and cheer as they watch your young water skiers get up for the first time on a pair of skis or wake board. There are two marinas (Anna Point and High Point) right around the corner and has a boat launch, snacks and any boating supplies you may need. There are a few restaurants just a short boat ride away.

The home is on two acres. A short walk down the drive will give you access to another 16 acres where you can hike on the various nature trails. Either through a hike or in the homeā€™s great room, there is wildlife. The high vaulted ceilings include a few of the ownerā€™s hunting trophies from the woods of Virginia. Inside or out, there are many opportunities to just prop your feet up and relax.

The master has a king bed with its own bath. Another bedroom also has a king bed. The third bedroom has a queen bed, twin bunk beds and a toddler bed. The basement living room has a trundle/day bed which makes into two twins. There are TVs on both levels with cable and many DVR movies to choose from. There is also an assortment of games and a ping pong table. Friends will love to hang out on the bar stools in the fully equipped kitchen.

The deck off the great room is a perfect place to eat dinner with a dining area for ten people. There also is a gas grill for those nights you want to throw on a steak or eat the dayā€™s catch. Smores around the fire pit is a favorite of kids and adults alike. The rental comes with the use of a three person canoe for exploring a meandering creek not too far from the dock.

There is a local winery, restaurants, grocery store and various other shopping just minutes away. Everything you need to have the perfect vacation is here!

Great weekend getaway

Our friend group enjoyed this lake house for a long weekend getaway. The location was so relaxing and peaceful! We did need to buy our own paper products (mainly toilet paper), but otherwise the house was well stocked with everything we needed. We really appreciated the WiFi out on the dock for listening to music!

Place was excellent location and dock was very nice. House was nice. It was bigger than I thought it was from the pictures the only complaint i had was the one door didnt slide smoothly and was hard for kids to open. Other than that it was an excellent place to stay.

13th birthday celebration weekend

We had a weekend getaway to celebrate my grandson turning 13. The house is a perfect location if you plan to spend time out on a boat. We rented a boat for the day and had the ability to come back to the house, dock up and refill on supplies which was super convenient.

Days on the Dock was wonderful for our family of seven adults and one toddler. Our initial impression was of the orderliness and cleanliness of the home. We loved the linen service's comfy sheets and plush towels. The plentiful, comfortable mattresses were wonderful. The bunk bed tended to be a little noisy with movement - probably something that tightening up could prevent. The kitchen was well stocked and large enough to adequately handle our group. The filtered water pitcher was a nice touch. The icemaker quickly made fresh ice so we could keep our coolers ready with chilled beverages. Being close to Food Lion was a definitely plus. Plenty of room in the dining space for eating and game playing. The cooling system worked flawlessly, the walk to the dock is easier than most and the dock itself, with the shaded portion, was fantastic. Our grandson especially enjoyed the "big boy" toddler bed (his first time sleeping on a bed, being rocked to sleep on the dock swing and the large deck that was a safe place to play since there are no stairs. Having three full baths was also great. Much to appreciate about this well-kept home. Very impressed overall. Not fancy or luxury-filled, but everything needed to enjoy quiet time as a family. The only slight negative - for me - was the busyness of the water. Lots of boats and watercraft all weeklong. I prefer quieter coves, but other members of the family liked the waves created by the boats.

A great week on the lake

Great location just a few minutes away from the marina by boat and car. A bit of a drive to get to shopping areas for supplies. The boat house and dock was great. The water items available for use was great. The only downside was the place was not well setup for our 19 month old as the stairs did not have a gate, the fire places have hazardous edges, and the drawers and cabinets did not have child safely locks. However, we would rent again for sure. The kitchen was well stocked, the linens were clean and there were plenty, plenty of towels for use in the house, good fishing around the dock, and peaceful. Again overall experience was great.

Love this house!

Awesome and Wonderful 4th of July

The house was everything as listed and the property is wonderful! The view of the Lake is beautiful and located in the woods which makes the property totally tranquil. Our family had a wonderful time, swimming, floating, fishing and we rented a jet ski which added a lot of fun for the all. Our grandchildren were asking if we could come back again after the first night!! The only downside of the house was the smell of mildew downstairs and gas flumes from the equipment located in the garage.

Great place

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we'll hope to return. The home was spacious for our family of three and it was immaculately clean. It offers a lovely lakeview and we spent much of our time sitting in chairs on the dock, with our son casting a line and catching some sunfish. The opposite side of the lake is a state park so it is relatively undeveloped. We used the canoe at the house to row over to the park, and we found a simple boat access on the shoreline that allowed us to park the canoe and go for a hike on the trails. During a week's stay in mid-April when few if any neighbors or lakegoers are present, we were amazed by the profound quiet and solitude of the place, particularly when stargazing from the patio porch at night.

House of the "Lunging" Bear - Loved It

Great house, well equipped, truthful write-up. Two suggestions: 1) A second refrigerator in the garage would be SO nice for the week's worth of food for ten people and those "extra beverages" that come on vacation. A used one on facebook marketplace is all I'm saying. 2) Turn the hot water tank up one click. Thanks Had a great time, good location. Grill has propane & an extra tank. Big table and chairs for poker and stuff in garage. Nice gravity lawn chairs at the dock (6 of them). GREAT Hammock out back.

Great Property at Great Location.

The property was exactly as advertised. Everything you can expect in vacation rental. Although some shops and restaurants were literally only a 6 minutes drive, the home felt completely away from the world and directly on the water. Great communication with the owner. Only thing to note is an extremely sensitive smoke alarm. Careful when cooking.

Had a good fishing weekend. House is in the woods across the cove from the state park. We saw deer, turkey and bald eagles. House had a little bit of a musty smell but overall a good stay.

Great Vacation at Lake Anna!

Great property! Very clean home with comfortable furniture and beds. Grocery conveniently close by as well as some restaurants. The kitchen well stocked for cooking and a grill. Great dock with everything you need. Would have liked some lighting on the dock at night. Maybe there is lighting and we just couldnā€™t find where to turn it on. The pathway nicely lit at night. Kids loved jumping off the dock, swimming, fishing and playing on floats. Brought our boat for skiing and tubing. Will definitely be back! Thank you!

We were at Days on the Dock in November so we did not have boat traffic or people in general except for neighbors who kept to themselves. The home was very clean and when we had questions, Mary was very quick to respond. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to anyone who wants to get away. Visiting DC or coming from Baltimore was very doable but traffic is a factor so build in some time for that. Thank you for the wonderful visit!

Fantastic home for our weekend getaway!

We spent four nights at "Days on the Dock". The weather was great for our annual girls getaway. The house was very clean and had a very well stocked kitchen. Having access to WIFI was a must as several ladies in our group needed to do some work while there. We enjoyed eating dinner on the deck while listening to the birds and watching the boats and jet skis go by. The bedrooms were large and the beds were comfortable. We would definitely book this home again.
