Welcome to Pepperwood Pottery Guest House – a peaceful retreat nestled in the Anderson Valley.

This charming home offers comfort, privacy, and a true taste of local craftsmanship, surrounded by vineyards, orchards, and redwood forests.

Bedrooms & Bathrooms
The home features two spacious master bedrooms, each with a California King bed and its own private bathroom with marble sinks and showers. For extra guests, there is also a comfortable hide-a-bed in the living room.

Living Spaces
Stay cozy year-round with heating provided by a gas fireplace, which offers the charm of a woodstove without the extra work. Both bedrooms also include additional electric heaters. With 6-inch insulated walls, the home stays warm in winter and cool in the summer.

Kitchen
The fully equipped kitchen includes a gas stove, refrigerator, and dishwasher. Guests will also enjoy a custom set of handmade pottery dishes crafted right here at the pottery. A unique farm scene tile mural behind the sink and stove was hand painted by local artist Gail Burns, adding character and warmth to the space.

Swimming Pool
Guests have access to a beautiful swimming pool located up the hill by the main house. The pool is heated by the sun and is wonderful during the warmer months.

Craftsmanship & Design
The house was built by renowned local craftsman Dennis Tooley, known for creating some of the finest homes and businesses in the Anderson Valley, including Handley Cellars.

The Property
Pepperwood Pottery sits on an 8-acre homestead originally established in 1906. The guest house is tucked away on the back portion of the property with its own private driveway. Our small vineyard of 217 vines and nearly 40 organically grown fruit trees add to the charm of the land. We avoid spraying, using only a touch of sulfur in early spring to keep the grapes healthy.

The property is completely southern exposed, set on a gentle hillside overlooking a protected redwood forest that is part of the Anderson Land Trust – meaning it will never be cut. Thanks to this southern exposure, guests enjoy abundant sunshine and very few mosquitoes.

Pepperwood Pottery Guest House is the perfect retreat for those seeking peace, natural beauty, and the authentic charm of Anderson Valley living.

The property is super comfortable, spacious, and beautiful. The beds in particular are so cozy and a great sleep. Really hit the spot !!

They were great guest , cleaned up everything after themselves and left it perfect for my house cleaner to finish up. My house is up the hill from the guest house, so didn't actually meet them .They seemed to have their time planned out around the county which was just fine.

This guest house is gorgeous. The spacious high ceilings in all rooms, the owner’s ceramic art throughout the decor, stunning location and well built solid construction make this a top rental home. The pool is gorgeous and while unheated, we enjoyed it in 72 degree weather just fine. Odd that folks don’t swim in it more. We loved being next to the redwood forest without being in the dark understory. Great bird watching. Excellent communication with the lovely easy going owner Doug too. Cannot wait to return.

This was an excellent property to stay at as a base to explore the north coast from Point Arena Lighthouse to Ft. Bragg. We were also so close to the Henry Wood Redwoods park to explore and for a beautiful drive through the Navarro Redwoods. Doug was so great to communicate with, attentive via messaging if needed but not intrusive-he lives on the property but we felt like we were the only ones there. He gave wonderful suggestions for activities and grocery options (that was the purpose of messaging). We didn’t get the chance to try out the pool due to weather but the house was the perfect way to relax at the end of the day and in the mornings before we headed out. The beds were comfortable, loved the feel of the bedding. Bathrooms were clean and great! Hot water was plentiful for multiple showers back to back. Cookware and kitchen was great! We didn’t need this during our stay and it didn’t bother us at all but it does not have a microwave if you need one. We did great without it! We would absolutely stay here again! Thank you, Doug, for sharing your beautiful property and guest house for us to enjoy!

Thanks so much for taking such wonderful care of my guest house. I can't believe how you cleaned everything up before you left, even though I said I would have a person go through and clean everything when you left. I am so glad you came and stayed and enjoyed the space. Thanks again , M Doug

The location of the property and the house was nice but it’s poor in terms of amenities. The listing did mention about washer dryer and air conditioning but there was no washer dryer and AC, it was very hot when we arrived till mid night , after mid night the temperature was okay. The fans were just for the name sake. No microwave, very very limited utensils that were very dirty . The basic things like dishwasher sponges were not kept new but used ones. No bathing soap, the shower head was worst. No coder powder , or kitchen assentials stuff for cooking. My 2 yrs old got sick due to heat and without proper utentis and microwave with small kids , it was very inconvenient. Overall the house and location was good but not the amenities and assentials.

We had a great time….location was close to wineries and we would stay again. Only thing I would suggest is perhaps a few more kitchen basics otherwise very good.
