Log Haven: private 3 bedroom log cabin, sleeps 6, AC, media room, pet friendly!

This beautiful log cabin was built in August of 2017 and was custom made by the Mennonites in Pennsylvania. We are in the perfect location, exactly halfway between Lake Placid and Saranac Lake and 8 minutes by car to each. The cabin has an open floor plan with the kitchen, dining room and living room all together with sloping high pine wood ceilings. There are three bedrooms, one with a king bed, the others with a queen and all with private full bathrooms plus a queen sleeper sofa in our media room. The inside is Adirondack themed through out with knotty pine wood and all new kitchen appliances. There is also a new "media room" in our lower level along with our third bedroom , bathroom and a new firepit outside. Note that we have 2 portable AC units plus the lower level usually stays very cool...

Plus a nice wrap around half deck for relaxing in the warmer weather. The view is looking out into a large field with views of Haystack Mountain and with a nice firepit as well. A peaceful and quiet area and with the owners close by, if needed. Hiking, paddling, shopping, restaurants and much more are all very near by.

Note that, while we are pet friendly, we have a strict 2 dogs limit!

We have never stayed at a VRBO as nice as this place. Absolutely beautiful. There is definitely no concerns. The communication was very thorough. Amenities complete. Such a cozy and comfortable interior. The setting was gorgeous. We would definitely look at staying here again, if we come back to this area.

Great cabin

The host was very welcoming and a great communicator. The log cabin is in a central location and very roomy for 6 guests. Guests who stay in the winter might like to know that the owner plows the .2 mile long road. Good tires are still a must have item. It's only one-way with 5 other winter residences. No problem until I met a delivery truck. The snow was deep on the sides of the road; somebody has to back up. Everything else is pretty much as described (except no shampoo - I'm sure they would have brought some if I asked). Internet was not very fast; maybe it was due to the cold weather. We had the TV, 1 computer, and a cell phone but couldn't even play music most of the time. It was an extremely cold week, but absolutely beautiful! Lots to do in the area.

It was a great rental

Perfect location just minutes from Lake Placid and Saranac lake. Very private with plenty of wildlife to watch every morning. Cabin is very cozy and not needing anything. We will return !!!!!

Amazing getaway

We had a wonderful stay and could not have asked for a better weekend away. The cabin was impeccably kept, well appointed and close to everything. Great Location

The cabin was perfect for the 6 of us. The location was perfect as well. The cabin is located between Lake Placid and Saranac. Literally a couple of miles either way and you are on a quaint Main Street with much to do. Having the cabin as home base was wonderful. The cabin had everything we needed for fun family get away.

Long weekend

I stayed here for a long weekend to attend a nearby wedding. The location was great, in between Lake Placid and Saranac Lake. The house itself was great with plenty of room for us all. The house was fully stocked with everything you could think of. The beds were super comfortable as well! The black flies outside were awful though - no fault of course of anyone's.

Lovely Christmas touch!

Log Haven was a perfect place for us, our two grown children with spouses and our grand puppy! Often, there are 3 bedrooms but one room will have twin beds and that doesn’t fit our family. Great living area for everyone to spread out and to cook in. Since we were there for Christmas, it was so nice to come and see a Christmas tree which rarely happens! Thank you!

Winter getaway

We had an amazing stay at Log Haven. This home is beautiful, spacious and very clean. The surrounding outdoor area was peaceful with a view of woods and mountains. The porch would be great in the warmer weather. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed as well as many extra towels and blankets. The location of the home is ideal for quick travel to Lake placid and Saranac area. I would definitely stay here again and as a pet owner being able to bring our dog was a bonus.

Great location & wonderful getaway housue

Not your ordinary log cabin - this is sparkling new! Has a great open floor plan, comfortable bedrooms & downstairs suite. Views across the huge field are amazing, starry nights around the firepit (with dry wood & kindling provided!). House is quiet & secluded from traffic, but a 5-minute walk from a food truck, brewery, playground, BBQ spot & pop-up taproom. Hiking trails to Saranac Six mountains nearby, and being between Saranac & Lake Placid was perfect for the non-hikers in our group.

Location & House, On point!

My family (husband, two kids, two dogs) & my in laws all stayed here, and we ABSOLUTELY loved it. It was really the most perfect location, in the middle of Saranac Lake and Lake Placid . We were very close to Aldi & close to Hannafords for grocery shopping. The house was well stocked with everything we needed. The property manager and the property owners were great to deal with and they checked in with us when we got there to make sure all was good! This was probably the cleanest VRBO we have ever stayed at! We will be back, for sure!

Great stay

My husband, twenty-something daughter and I had a great stay at Log Haven. The house was clean, spacious, attractive and comfy. It's super well situated between Saranac Lake and Lake Placid, quiet and private where it's located, but accessible to both towns so it's easy to get whatever you need. And of course, the Adirondacks are fabulous -- beauty everywhere you go and lots to do. We found interesting activities even on rainy days; we recommend the Laboratory museum in Saranac Lake for anyone interested in a very intriguing local history.

Absolute GEM!

Our family of four stayed in this cabin for 4 nights. We've stayed in many rentals in this area over the past decade and this has just become our favorite place! The cabin is beautiful, spotless and decor is thoughtful and reflective of the area. Tucked away to give you privacy but close to everything including restaurants and outdoor activities! As a side note, we were at the cabin during a significant snow and wind storm. We never lost power and we were safe and cozy in the cabin. The owner and property manager were super easy to get in touch with and so kind, especially wheh we needed to arrange an additional night due to the weather. We cannot wait to return to this GEM!

We are Polly & Derek Doty and a third generation Adirondack family. Our grandfather built a log cabin on our 60 acres and this is in tribute to his original home! We live next door to Log Haven, about 150 yards with trees in between, so we are around, if needed, but won't bother you during your stay!
