The Bonnie Belle Cabin, a high country modern/rustic cabin

The Bonnie Belle Cabin is a 1100 square foot, two story, 3 bedroom modern/rustic backcountry style cabin located in the heart of the San Juan Mountains, 15 miles north of Silverton, Colorado on the Alpine Loop. The cabin itself sits at 12,000 feet above sea level in Picayune Gulch overlooking the Animas River headwaters and the historic ghost town of Animas Forks. Your trip to the Bonnie Belle should be looked at as an adventure, and not just a place to lay your head. The views are second to none, and it is truly a one of a kind property with a one of a kind experience. No client is too big or small, and we will cater to any of your special needs, so please just ask. The cabin uses solar power to power lights in every room, a stereo system, kitchen appliances, etc. Kick back and enjoy the mountain views to a crackling fire in the wood stove or from the two large redwood decks. Access in the summer is by 4x4 vehicle, ATV or similar, or by foot. A Subaru or similar all wheel drive vehicle will not make it. You will not be able to tow a trailer to the cabin. Being comfortable driving on mountain 4x4 roads is essential!

This place is amazing! I can't get over how well stocked it is. The cabin is super clean. Great value when you stop and consider the logistics of everything the owners transport up there to provide an enjoyable stay. Everything worked perfectly. And the host is super helpful. Oh yeah, the views are endless. Just go and see for yourself. I'll be back. Thank you for sharing your special place.

Off The Grid Gem

This cabin is the most epic & luxurious off the grid property I have ever stayed at. With 360 views, we got an incredible sunset, cloud inversion, and milky way stars. Will definitely be back!

Majestic

Its really hard to describe this cabin - breath taking- if you want to get away from the world this is the cabin. Perfect location to jump on must trails. Everything we needed was provided plus wood for the stove which was really nice . Thank you for the oppurtunity to stay in your beatiful cabin.

Epic ! Majestic views, cool crisp evenings, 360 mountain views, star gazing was breathless.

A diamond in the rough - top of the world type experience. Glad to have shared it with my best friend, husband, daughter and sister. A challenge to get to, but so worth it as we had all our provisions and could relax and enjoy the trails, abandoned mines, warm days and cool nights. The cabin had everything we needed to make great meals, stay warm and cozy and get ready for another day. Look forward to returning to the BBC.

A must stay!

This beautiful property has everything you would ever need or emagine for a beautiful mountain vacation. There are 360ﾟ amazing mountainous views. The home was equipped with comfortable bedding and a kitchen full of everything you would need. The living room had seating for all and a screen and projector for nighly movies. I highly recommend this vacation home.

Beautiful timberline wildness with the comfort of a cabin. Even the outhouse was a joy to use with a great view. You do need a 4wd to get there but that's a good thing.

Bonnie Belle cabin - Fantastic!

We had a wonderful time at the cabin! Beautiful views, great weather, and the cabin was just as terrific as we hoped it would be! The owner was extremely helpful and answered all of our questions quickly and completely. We are hoping we can stay at the cabin again next year.

Spectacular San Juan Mountains at The Bonnie Belle Cabin

Outstanding!!! My recent stay at the Bonnie Belle Cabin was absolutely perfect in all ways. The owners were very helpful with my inquiry, booking procedures, and all general questions. This very well built cabin is located in a epic location at roughly 12,000 ft. above sea level, high above the tree line with spectacular views of the San Juan Mountains. The Bonnie Belle Cabin comes furnished with everything one could want to use, or need while staying in a remote mountain cabin location. The BB cabin is very comfortable, amazingly quiet, and great for excellent R&R. Daily, deer would visit in the early evening to feed on the eastern knoll from the cabin, both bucks and does. The view of the Animas River Valley and San Juan Mountains are second to none from this prime location. I highly recommend this property to all adventure seekers, couples and families. I enjoyed the stay so much, I am already booking my next trip back to the Bonnie Belle now!!!

We are a partnership of 2 friends that purchased the cabin in 2008. Extensive upgrades were made to make this cabin not only enjoyable for us, but for all our clients. We are all very passionate about mountain life and work in related fields within the state of CO.

We grew up down the road in Durango (approx 60 miles south) and have always enjoyed this area of Colorado. When the property became available it was a no brainer for us.

Everything about this place made us fall in love with it. The remoteness and solitude. The views and the wildlife. The activities in the area are endless, both summer and winter, and the cool clean mountain air is always refreshing!
