Enjoy summer lake fun or Clemson games in the fall on beautiful Lake Hartwell in Upstate SC. Boat, fish, canoe, swim, grill, enjoy campfires under the stars, or just relax at the lake with family and friends. Complete interior and exterior remodel summer of 2025.

Located in Anderson, SC, on a beautiful cove that opens to big sailing water. Very close to the River Forks launch and near Portman Marina. Rustic cottage with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, a fully stocked kitchen, a large wrap-around deck with lake views, fire pit, hammock swing, and covered dock. Guests have use of a canoe and four kayaks and can also rent boats and personal watercraft at nearby marinas.

Semi-circle driveway can accommodate boat trailers, and guests can tie their boats up on the side of our private dock.

When not on the water, you can enjoy antique shops and dining in Anderson or nearby Pendleton, SC, as well as Hartwell, GA.

In the Fall, guests will find the location convenient to the Clemson University football stadium by car (30 minutes) or boat (30-40 minutes).

An absolutely beautiful property! My sister and I and our children enjoyed our stay very much! Lots of fun stuff to do and kayaks were available in our back yard! We had a fabulous stay in this delightful house on the lake. The house is newly remodeled. The kitchen was well-stocked with everything we needed. The massive windows in the great room were fabulous both in sunny and stormy weather. We loved spending time on the dock. We used the kayaks, and our boys had a diving contest. There was a turtle that spent the sunny days by the dock. Excellent communication with the owners.

Great Getaway!

My family and I enjoyed relaxing and swimming off the dock every day. The privacy and safety being in the cove was a real added plus, especially with my 7 year old. We felt very safe that no boats would interfere with our quiet swimming and enjoyment down at the dock. Awesome stay and hope to be back.

Lake Cabin Feel

We enjoyed our stay. Updated kitchen and bathrooms. Plenty of comfortable beds with clean linens and towels. We had fun at the fire pit making s’mores and dipping our toes in the lake while watching the sunset. Not a far drive to Clemson for the Football Game.

cant beat the location

Great view of lake from garden and house. Well-kept house and facilities. Owners communicated well and were easy to work with. Located near Clemson, Anderson, and Hartwell. Micro breweries are nearby. And lots of hiking trails within 30 minutes.

Great place to unwind!

We loved playing off the dock and appreciated that there were life vests, kayaks and noodles right there. Peaceful setting and great to relax with family. Location was nice for access to groceries and Clemson. Great hiking if willing to drive a bit. Restaurants have limited hours so check before going. Owners very promptly answered any questions. Would visit again!

Couldn’t have been any better

Don’t miss this opportunity to stay at this house! Location was perfect and the house exceeded expectations . The pictures do not do the house or outside justice. We will definitely be back sooner than later!

We had a great time. The property was perfect! The location on the lake was great. The pictures are exactly accurate. The dock was a big hit with the kids. Lakefront Cottage Trip

We enjoyed our 3 day stay at the Lakefront cottage. The remodeled kitchen & bathrooms were really nice. The den was great for relaxing. I enjoyed having coffee each morning on the front porch. The wifi worked really well, too. The dock was relaxing and the water is real deep at the dock, great for swimming and boating. It was a football weekend but the 32" tv was a bit small. There is also a lot of big fallen limbs in the trail to the dock.

Thank you for the review. I do apologize for the fallen tree limbs. They resulted from a late summer storm. They have since been professionally removed. The entire lot is now very clean and the path to the water is free of any obstructions.

Super location, awesome perks!

Beautiful home and outside area for our family - fresh kitchen & bath renovations made a big difference. Kayaks were a huge hit with the kids and adults, and the boat dock with great seating and water area was used every day. Fire pit, beautiful back porch with comfy seating and gas grill were big pluses too. Great lake cove that was inviting and lively but not too busy for our young kids to easily play and boat around. Very convenient to many restaurants - recommend The Farm - and grocery stores, including delivery from Publix. We rented a pontoon from Big Water Marina, as recommended by the owner, and had a lovely experience with the people and food offerings at the marina. Highly recommend! Owner was very easy to communicate with and gracious during our stay. Kids are begging to come back every year!

Worthwhile

Our stay at this South Carolina VRBO property was nothing short of spectacular! From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the attention to detail and the comfort provided in every aspect of our accommodation. First and foremost, the kitchen was an absolute dream. Not only was it incredibly well-equipped with everything we could possibly need, but the tasteful renovations added a touch of luxury to our cooking experience. The meal preparation a breeze. The living spaces were equally impressive, with comfortable furniture that made relaxation effortless. The beds were so cozy that we found ourselves sleeping in longer than planned, fully recharging for each day's adventures. We were provided ideas for day trips and really enjoyed museums in Anderson and Greenville. Clemson provided excellent baseball One of the highlights of our stay was undoubtedly the view and the lake dock. Being able to wake up to the serene beauty of the lake and having a covered dock for our boat added an extra layer of convenience and enjoyment to our vacation. Furthermore, the location of the property on a no-outlet street provided the ideal combination of privacy and accessibility. We enjoyed leisurely walks in the tranquil surroundings, feeling completely secluded from the huLstle and bustle of everyday life. Overall, our experience at this VRBO property exceeded all expectations. The attention to detail, exceptional amenities, and prime location made it a truly unforgettable getaway.

BEST EVER

Traveled to Lake Hartwell for the National High School Bass Tournament. The communication with the host before, during and after was spot on. They were prompt, kind and so accommodating. We asked to add another day on the end of our trip and they responded immediately and accommodated the extra day. The property is so welcoming. Clean, up to date and completely stocked with every single thing you could ask for. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. Except maybe to win the Nationals. 36th out of 314! Here fishy fishy!

Fantastic Getaway

We had a lovely time celebrating my daughter’s graduation at Clemson. The house was great and the lake was so relaxing. The owners were fantastic, check in and out was very easy and we had an amazing time. Wish we had stayed longer to enjoy the fire pit!

Lake Hartwell House

We loved our month at Brian's lake house. The house has a great view and is well equipped and comfortable. We used the canoe and kayaks to explore the lake. The quiet was broken by the huge variety of birds chirping and singing including bluebirds at the birdhouse and hummingbirds at the feeder. Shopping is close by too. We hope to stay there again.

Quiet time

Cabin located off the beaten path but still only 25 minutes for Clemson events and 10 minutes to choice of 2 major grocery store. 15 minutes from downtown Anderson. Nearby waterfalls, mountains and Greenville between an hour to two hours away. Great for exploring this part of western SC and nearby Georgia.

Above and Beyond - A Great Location

We had a great time this weekend and it was just what we needed. The owners are very responsive, flexible and definitely go above and beyond. The layout for our family of 4 was great and the kids love the wrap-around porch, swing and bunkbeds. The owners recommended a drive-thru safari, which was about 30 minutes from the house and the kids loved it! There are plenty of stores and restaurants nearby as well. We will definitely stay here again!

Great stay

We really enjoyed our stay at the property. The dock, the deck and the fire pit are awesome! We used the kayaks and canoe, and they worked well. The great room (kitchen and family room) and bathrooms have been very tastefully redone and are very nice. Everything was clean. The owner was very good with communication, and wanted to ensure we fully understood that there were bunk beds. All the beds were reasonably comfortable. The kitchen was very well equipped. We definitely enjoyed our stay at the lake.

Great Getaway

This is our swcond trip to Lake Hartwell and this house was perfect! We had 4 adults and 2 kids (ages 5&7) on our trip and we had such a blast fishing, swimming, and kayaking on the lake! The house had everything we needed and was a perfect location. We also took a day trip to hike Table Rock and it was worth the drive! We can't wait to return!

The owners enjoy family weekends on the lake boating, water skiing, fishing and canoeing. We love the lake lifestyle and local antique shops, and the Carolina BBQ is fantastic.

We have two boys and wanted to build great memories on the lake - learning to fish, ski, canoe, sail, build campfires, etc. We also wanted a rustic cabin feel that was a complete getaway from the city.
