Classic Maine Cottage; 5-Bedroom Oceanview Cottage with Timeless Charm
Summary:
Welcome to Robin Hill.
Robin Hill rents on a weekly basis in the summer season from Sunday to Sunday. The rest of the year we do accommodate reservation requests but have a 3-day minimum stay.
The Space:
Robin Hill, cloistered in a seaside setting, her exceptional beauty rests atop of a hill in the York Cliff's neighborhood, overlooking Cape Neddick Beach, and Nubble Light beyond. Nestled along "the most scenic road in all of Maine", according to Down East Magazine, this cottage boasts five bedrooms, four full baths (one is outside, off of the deck, used in warm weather.) Additionally, there is a queen sleep sofa on the first floor in the family room. In the spring, summer and fall, there is a small cabin on the property that is available that has one twin bed and one double bed which provides total accommodation of 15. This property is a perfect location to rent weekly in the summer or anythime during the year for long weekends, family gatherines, holiday celebrations, executive stays, wedding party guest quarters, and more. This home is a one minute walk to the beach (200 yards) and the Cape Neddick Lobster Pound. Robin Hill has easy access to all of York's activities including the viewing of the rich historic homes, fine dining, seafood restaurants, sailing, beach going, antiquing, amusements, live music, golfing, horseback riding, hiking on Mount Agamenticus and a five minute drive to Ogunquit's Perkin's Cove, the Ogunquit Play House and gthe rich cultural downtown area. The Cape Neddick's Nubble Light House is just a 5 minute drive from Robin Hill. It is thought to be the most romantic lighthouse in all of America and is indeed the most photographed.
At Robin Hill, you will find an authentic Maine cottage. The kitchen has wood floor and cabinets, granite counter tops, and painted wooden post and beams on the ceilings, a reminder of an era gone by. This kitchen opens to a more casual dining nook, with a table for four, and a pellet stove. Additionally, there is an island bar that sits three. Walking through French doors, the guest enters the dining room. A beautiful trestle table for 8 is in the center of the room with extra seating.
The living room has shelves full of books, and a view of Cape Neddick Beach. The Lounge is a delightful area to sit and listen to music a the bar. This room has a lively vibe with a stereo. The family room has a relaxed, traditional spirit taken from the inspiration of Robin's classic revival architecture. There is a large, flat screen television. The couch is a pull-out queen sofa bed.
An airy hallway provides a simple passageway to the second floor bedrooms. There are two staircases leading to the upstairs. The master bedroom has a king bed and offers views of the beach. In the next bedroom there are two twin beds and a door leading out to a balcony. The remainder of the additional three bedrooms have a queen and 2 double beds and will offer sanctuary to your family and friends. There are two full bathrooms on the second floor and one on the first floor. In the spring/summer/fall, there is a bathroom off of the deck. The second floor has two verandas that over look the billowing one acre yard and the ocean. The first floor has two outside porches, one is open and one is screened-in.
Self check-in and out.
Guest Access:
Guests will have complete access to the house and cabin. The cabin is open during the spring, summer and fall.
The Neighborhood:
Based on its historic architecture and stunning coastal location, the vibe of York Cliffs, Maine, is a blend of exclusive seaside luxury and preserved Victorian charm. It is known for its ocean views and historic summer mansions that evoke a sense of quiet, a wealthy retreat. It is more of a tranquil sanctuary than a bustling, high-energy destination. It's a place for quiet reflection, enjoying ocean views, and appreciating historic architecture.
The York Cliffs Historic District was developed as a secluded resort community for the wealthy between 1890 and 1902.
The area features well-preserved Victorian summer "cottages" in styles like Queen Anne and Shingle, which contribute to a timeless, elegant atmosphere.
Unlike a sandy beach town, the area is defined by its rugged, rocky coastline, which provides dramatic views of the Atlantic.
Getting Around:
Walking, biking, driving, public transportation.
Other Things to Note:
Most everything that you could need or want is included in this contract. Should you want to contract any special service during your vacation, such as massage, limo, hair and makeup, chef, etc., we will happily add these services to your lease. Pets are allowed upon approval for a $250 fee per pet. The property manager will adjust your rate to reflect your needs if you receive any of the extra services described above.
Robin Hill is a great place for a wedding, party or other type of event.
Robin Hill requires a 7 day stay from Sunday to Sunday during the summer months. During the remainder of the year, there is a 3 day minimum.
Covid Pandemic - Robin Hill follows all of the Center of Disease Control and Prevention's (CDC) recommendations and guidelines for cleaning and disinfecting the house.
Thank you. :)
