5 and beyond. Absolutely perfect !! Property manager, housekeeper and pool guy all FANTASTIC! Beautiful views, comfortable with all amenities. We had a local chef cook us dinner at the casa one evening, this was amazing. Also had massage person came to house, very accommodating ! Worth every penny and would not hesitate to stay again. Loved everything !!

Top Shelf!

Group of 5 friends whoā€™ve travelled together over the years. Each stay we try and top the last and this property did not disappoint! (Personally I could have stayedā€¦)The guest hand book is very helpful! Laurie recommended a chef make dinner in the house for our arrival, which we did. HIGHLY recommend as we were exhausted and ended up with left overs for lunch, and the cost was reasonable compared to eating out. The Neighborhood is safe and clean. The tennis court can handle a pickle if one prefers. (Take water) The house pool is refreshing. The kitchen is well appointed. Canā€™t ask for much more.Seems far from amenities but itā€™s close. Easy walk down the hill and taxi back (100 pesos ish) if ladened with groceries or cervesas. We were very comfortable. We Highly recommend the property and helpful host.

Truly the Star of the Sea!!!

Walking in for the first time to such an amazing and dramatic view just takes your breath away (but wait till the sun goes down and you gaze across the bay to the ā€˜Mountain of Diamondsā€™. One of the most beautiful things weā€™ve ever seen in all our travels!) The casa itself is lovely and as others have said, like having your own private resort! We are a group of 6 family and friends who love to cook so the huge open air kitchen (with that gorgeous view!) was perfect! (Though donā€™t miss the incredible dining out in Z!) Jacquie and Lily were lovely and very helpful and we also fell in love with the gate guard who saw us frequently as we went to town most days. But you wouldnā€™t need to. You could stay up here in paradise and just bask in the jungle sounds and the beauty. Maybe have Jacquie shop for the fresh fish of the day a few timesā€¦and donā€™t miss the Mexican mangos!! Oh my!! We also want to say that owner Laurie has gone out of her way to help make our stay extra special ā€“ so thank you Laurie, thank you to your Mexican family and thank you Zihuatanejo ā€“ weā€™ll be back!!

Zihua family vacation

Beautiful house above the bay with a view of everything. We had the perfect view of water taxis shuttling people from the peer to Playa Las Gatas all day. When the sun sets, the town stays light and is absolutely gorgeous. Gourmet kitchen, huge dining room table, and comfy seating around the pool and in the living room. Perfect for 3 couples, never felt like we were on top of each other. The private chef was so good, she came back two more times! Lili came every other day and did our laundry, we were spoiled for sure. Not the best for people with mobility issues, as stairs up to the master or down to the other two beds is the only access to the bedrooms. So there is some serious stair climbing to get around the house. Good for your legs! Gated safe community, under development so there is construction happening on most streets. The houses are built to be very private so it wasnā€™t a huge issue. Be prepared to take taxis to get anywhere, and make sure you practice your Spanish and/or download Google Translate to communicate as needed. Zihua is a very clean and safe feeling town, with a growing food scene. Espuma was a favourite dinner out, highly recommend. And Margaritas for brunch. La Ropa was a great beach, and make the trip to Playa Las Gatas at least once!

Better than expected!

We (family of 4 with 10yo and 13yo) were blown away as soon as we entered the home! The view from every space is fantastic and the house is well appointed with local art. We spent the majority of our time in the open air kitchen/dining/lounge/pool enjoying the sunshine and sunsets, but the bedrooms are great too! Jacquie was incredibly responsive, booked our airport transport and a fishing trip. Lili was incredibly sweet and even washed/folded our laundry each visit (I could have easily only packed 1/4 of what I brought)! The house manual was helpful and provided the name of a driver ā€œBearā€ who helped us get around town. The house is in a safe and gated community that requires transportation but everything is a quick and cheap ($5-7) cab ride. 10/10 would stay again in a heartbeat.

We had the best time!

Everything was perfect! We played hard in Zih with some great excursions. It was wonderful to come back to this relaxing oasis. Lilly and Jaquie were so helpful and friendly. The views were amazing, Beds were comfortable, everything was clean. I can't say enough about it :) We had a Chef come in two nights and cook for us, I highly recommend! Oh, I almost forgot.... Jasmine the massage therapist came one afternoon and we all had massages. She was wonderful, One of the best I've had in a while! ( I'm a massage therapist here in the states (25 years, I know great massage ) We will be coming back for sure . Thank you Laurie, Jacqui, Lilly, our chef( can't remember her name) Jasmine and everyone else who made our trip one for the books.

Amazing stay at Casa Estrella De Mar

First time staying in Zihua - a truly amazing spot! We had a hurricane warning (Otis) but luckily it didnā€™t end up hitting us other than some rain at night. Casa Estrella de Mar is a beautiful spot and Laurie, Jaquie, Lilli, & Jorge weā€™re available as needed during our stay to help with anything! Walking distance from a picturesque beach. Taxi driver (Bear) were great but expect to take them if youā€™re heading into town / La Ropa beach!

Stunning villa perched on the hillside overlooking the beautiful bay. The pictures on the listing were very accurate except that the real thing was even better. The owners were very helpful. The property manager arranged for groceries on arrival, in house massages, golf and dinner reservations. We could not have been happier with our choice.

Memorable Getaway

The view and property are just as expected. Absolutely stunning! Both Laurie and Jacqui were so communicative throughout the whole process.We had a few bumps in our adventure, but Jacqui was very kind and helpful in making sure we were taken care of. You must book a dinner with the chef, she is incredible and it was such a treat! It was our first time in Zihua, so the heat an environment took a little getting used to, but the pool is the best way to cool off! Taxis into the Centro or La Ropa are pretty necessary unless you love walking up steep hills. If you are looking for a more remote relaxing vacation, then this is the perfect spot for you!

Excellent stay. As good as advertised!

My wife and two teenage kids stayed at Casa Estrella de Mar and had an extraordinary vacation. The house is immaculate, with a picturesque view, and the accommodations were perfect for our family. Jacquie met us when we checked in and had picked up a short list of groceries that we had sent in advance. Lili came every day to clean, do laundry, and otherwise keep the house in pristine condition. We had a chef-prepared dinner at the house one night that was excellent and otherwise enjoyed exploring the area, eating at wonderful restaurants, and relaxing in the pool or on the deck. Honestly, all of our needs were fully met. Taxis were easy to get and we walked to the beach one day as well. All in all it was an awesome stay and we hope to come back soon!

Spectacular Views - Extraordinary Service

This place has it all...outstanding service, excellent location and ample opportunities for adventure. Our family enjoyed a week at Casa Estrella De Mar for a week in March and our experience was out of this world. Pre-trip communication from Laurie was quick, efficient and very helpful in planning our trip. Jacquie, the property manager, arranged for airport pick up at ZIH and it was a short 20 minute drive to our private oasis - arrived just in time to see the sunset - I don't think you can get enough pictures of that amazing view. We were pampered from day one with arrangements for groceries upon arrival, option for daily or every other day cleaning service by Lilly (outstanding) and Jacquie at our service when we needed any arrangements made. This property is located on a hillside, giving you a spectacular view of Zihua - the lights at night are a delight to see. We loved the open architecture and ample gathering spaces. Special call out to Hector, the security guard in this gated community that helped us find a lost cell phone during our stay - his detective skills saved the day. We will most certainly be back to this special place. Thank you, Laurie, for allowing us to share your special home.

A Bit of Heaven on Earth

When you walk thru the front door and onto the living area, you experience a little bit of heaven on earth. You are able to see all of Zihuatanejo Bay. The beautiful Las Gatas beach is just below you with its white, light green and blue coral waters. La Ropa beach is on the right with its beach restaurants and endless water sports toys. Then you can look across the bay at Maderas beach, the marina, downtown Z and the pier. The view at night that lights up before you is amazing. However, the personal touch of the staff there at Casa Estrella De Mar is the best I have ever encountered throughout my worldly travels. Starting with Laurie the owner, she goes above and beyond to answer any of your questions before you book or travel to help your experience there be fulfilled. Next comes her property manager Jacqui who is exceptionally kind, attentive, resourceful, responsive and helpful. She provides excursion information while in Z and makes appointments for your own chef dinner She makes reservations for dinner. For 200 pesos, she will take your pre-arrival grocery list and stock the casa just prior to your arrival which is a huge plus after traveling all day. Housekeeping is provided by Lili and Jorge who provide fresh towels, water in your room, clean the infinity pool, wash your clothes for you, and clean the home. I am not sure the Ritz Carlton could do better.

We loved this place and did not want to leave. Beautiful local art & a stunning view!

We did not want to leave. Beautiful view, beautiful local art, beautiful house! The book of places to go written by the owners was very helpful. Be sure to read it. Hope to come back next year. Worth every penny!
