New in our program, this home has many great reviews from past guests.

Fly high with beautiful TERN INN! This fabulous vacation home is located on a quiet oceanside street that has a superb beach front access and is only a few minutes walk from the Avon Pier and the pool at Club Hatteras.

Bed Sizes: 2 Queens, 1 Twin Bunk, 1 Full

The ground level has plenty of concrete parking, carport, locking storage, 2 outside showers, and fish prep area. The 1st entry level has a half bath and laundry nook. The living level has cathedral ceilings, warm wood accents, and quality furnishings to make all guests feel right at home. The living area flows into the dining area and out to the screened porch and sundeck.

The kitchen with breakfast bar is a great place to gather for a libation or tall tale before the serious eating begins. A good bedroom and full bath complete the picture. Upstairs two bedrooms and a bath have access to the wonderful airy loft.A hint: Break out the tanning oil for the 2nd story sundeck .... it's for the sun birds.

The stair tamer is not for guest use. No Smoking or Vaping. Please note: Guests have access to the Club Hatteras Pool Facility. Additional details around this facility will be shared in your check-in email and during the check-in process.

Nice for families

The house is roomy and appropriately equipped. Some of the furniture could be more modern but everything is functional. We enjoyed our stay with 4 adults and 4 children (1 to 8 yo).

Great Value!

This house was perfect for our group of 7. It is charming, and has a ton of deck space, screened in porch, etc. The location is great, and it is private with trees all around. The kitchen was well stocked, and everything worked very well. I'd stay here again, for sure!

Wonderful Beachhouse

Wonderful beachhouse! A short walk to the beach with everything you need. Loved the screened in porch, deck space, two outdoor showers, and open kitchen/living area. The five of us had plenty of space to enjoy each others company and escape to the houses multiple venues to read, watch movies, play board games, and chat. Highly recommended!

Wonderful home

We loved everything about this home! Plenty of room for a family of 7! The kitchen is well equipped, everything we needed to cook and keep left overs. Loved the top deck at sunset and mid level screen porch was so enjoyable. We also walked to the beach every day, not far at all. Loved having 2 outdoor showers. Overall, a beautiful home!

Place was ok beach access was not great. I don’t recommend this far down the island it took forever.

Hatteris Reality was ok very hard to contact without going to office and waiting in line.

The house was nice . There were a few ants on the counter and the fridge and freezer did not cool properly.

Nice place

The place was great. We had a great week at Tern Inn #19. Would definitely recommend the house. I would give it 5 stars except for the family room TV was going bad. About a third of the screen had a dark shadow on it. Told the rental company about the TV and they wrote a report but nothing became of it. Couldn't really watch the TV. Hopefully it gets replaced for the next renters. Other than that the place was perfect for us. Would like to rent again next year.

Outdated property.

The home is exactly as pictured. Very 1980s. The beds are extremely uncomfortable. The check in is a giant pain. You may have to wait until 6 to check in and the place is jam packed with people waiting. The walk to the beach is quick, but LOTS of stairs. The mosquito population is a real issue, especially in the car port/ outside shower. Kitchen was well stocked. If you do rent, pass on the linen package. Towels are small and everything was thin and like sandpaper. I could have bought higher quality for less money and hassle!

Good location

This was our second year staying at the Tern Inn and we were very disappointed with having to wait til the very last minute for check in especially when they knew we were there early and waiting. Also this year the house was not as clean. I had to mop floors twice and run the sweeper plus there were 2 stains in the carpet. One huge one in the dining room and then one in the upstairs newsroom that was sticky. I thought they should have at least scrubbed or shampooed them before we got there. Other than the cleaning not being as good as last year and the late check in again, the house is at a great location and the layout is perfect for 2 families! Avon is the best place to stay for sure!

2/10 - Terrível

First bad stay

We have been coming to OBX for many years and this was our first bad stay. The house had a toilet that overflowed from a broken seal and water was EVERYWHERE. The maintenance guy came and fixed it but left all the water soaked carpet. The house then began to smell awful and when I contacted Vacasa twice more about it- they said they would send someone out and no one ever came. We have another trip booked this summer with Vacasa and I hope it is a better one. Needless to say next year we will be renting from another company.
