Pelican's Roost guests enjoy the premium amenities of a larger house for a family friendly price point. Your stay at the Pelican's Roost includes:

Use of BOTH the Hatteras Realty pool and the Kinnakeet Shores Pool, Tennis and Pickleball Club .
A well appointed kitchen with extra large refrigerator and ceramic nonstick cookware .
TVs and Roku devices in all three bedrooms and living room .
High speed WiFi throughout the home .
Downstairs laundry room with washer and dryer .

From morning coffee to evening cocktails, our guests find that life is pleasant on the screen porch. Don't forget to stargaze Hatteras Island's famous dark skies from the top deck!

Cute little place walking distance from the beach

You can actually see the ocean from the top balcony. Adorable little place. Comfortable and lots of outdoor seating to listen to the ocean in the evenings. Can walk to lots of places to eat and shop. I’d recommend visiting the pool off Kinakeet blvd over the Vacasa pool. We have stayed with Vacasa in the OBX before so we went to that pool out of habit. On the last day we went to the Kinakeet pool and were sad we didn’t go sooner. It’s very nice and much quieter.

Nice Home

This home is perfect for a couple or small family. Only one flight up to the living area, which was all on one level . Good for someone who finds stairs a chore. Beach access was close by. Would stay here again.

Modest but functional

Compact space, not too big, not cramped either. Older construction, but decently maintained. Refreshing minimum of seaside kitsch.

Good Location - needs maintenance

We have stayed in this house numerous times over the past ten years - it seems to be showing some wear - Had a septic issue that took a week to be addressed. Screen door was broken, Reported the issue - never heard back. The house was not very clean when we arrived.

Avon Rental in OBX

Overall the home was good, however, the carpet had noticeable pet stains and was in need of replacing. There needs to be dark curtains in the master bedroom as the neighbor had a flood light directed in the back and had to put my beach towels up to block out the light. The screen door needs to be replaced as there are sharp wires sticking out that will cut you. Overall the home was nice, great location to the beach. The view from the balcony provided a tiny partial view of the ocean with plenty of chairs.

We absolutely loved this property! My only recommendations: 1) since it is required to sweep/vacuum it would have been great to have a proper vacuum. The one that was there did not really pick up anything (especially the sand). We empty the dust buster but the suction was very weak. We were able to sweep but had trouble with the carpet on the stairs. 2) There were four chairs on the upper deck that were extremely flimsy. We are not big people at all and the legs were very flimsy and felt like they would break/give out. They had 2 nice chairs (they went with the table on the top deck but they were located on the bottom deck and were way too heavy to move up especially because there are no stairs connecting the bottom deck to the top except through the house). My recommendation would be to have some better chairs - plastic is okay but these plastic chairs were the cheapest, flimsiest chairs I have ever seen. I would worry that if someone a little bigger sat in this chair, it would give out. This review was submitted while the home was managed by a different property management company.
