Great family Beach home

4 + bedrooms / 3.5 bath home. Home sleeps 10 - 12 comfortably. It is the perfect location for get togethers for family and friends. The upper level open kitchen, living, dining area is bright , warm and welcoming. An upper level deck stretches across full front of house and has several rocking chairs and dining area. The home is only a short walk to the beach. Features of home: upper level has master suite with king size bed, tv, en suite bath, large walk in closet, accessible deck entry; 3 additional bedrooms on this level: two with queen size beds and one with 2 twin beds. There is a full hall bath for these three bedrooms to share as well as a half bath. On the lower ground level floor there is a large open room with two sets of bunk beds (sleeps 4), couch, tv, and game table. There is a full bathroom on this lower level. The outdoor shower is also on this level. The house has hardwood floors throughout. Additional features: 3 TVs, internet, 3 four - passenger golf carts, 6 bikes plus youth bike, well equipped kitchen with new cabinets, quartz countertops and stainless farm sink, beach toys, kayaks ( 2 single and 1 double), bogie boards, poker table. Pet friendly. See house rules regarding pets and pet fee. Bald Head Island Club temporary membership available for additional fee.

The home rents weekly, Sunday to Sunday, during the peak season. During the off season home is available for a minimum stay of three nights.
CANCELLATION POLICY. If canceled at least 60 days before scheduled check-in, Tenant will receive a full refund. In the event of a cancellation within 60 days of check-in and if the Premises are re-rented on the terms set forth in contract, then the Tenant shall receive a refund of all payments.

We absolutely loved the hatchlings house! The house is beautifully decorated and has such a fun history as being one of the original houses on the island. We were also impressed with the cleanliness of the property. Host was super communicative and house is very well stocked and organized.

We loved the Hatchling House! It was a great location and had everything we needed. We enjoyed the family for meals and fun evenings and were as for the three golf carts.

Great Family Week

Sharon was very helpful and responsive to all of our questions and needs. Property was clean and had all the supplies needed for a week away. Would definitely come back. We had a great time!

Awesome house

Our family was very impressed with the Hatchlings house. It felt as though we were staying with friends/family. Everything worked! We loved all the history behind the house and bald head in general. We can't say enough!! Thank you for your beautiful home!

Beautifully decorated, Plenty of room for family and friends in this historic home

Baldhead Island is the best beach in North Carolina for nature lovers! We enjoyed the many bicycles for exploring the island. A very short Walk to the beach. The great room kitchen dining room combo is Perfect for cooking family meals, and hanging out with everyone.

Old Bald Head Charm

We had a fabulous stay at this charming classic old bald head home. It’s a home. The owners take so much pride in stocking this home with amazing items. How many times have you rented a home and 1/2 the items don’t work? Not here! Loads of bikes, working clean grill, well stocked kitchen. We loved the open floor plan for our family. We enjoyed sipping coffee on the porch every morning, and using all the games provided by the owners in the evening. From this location we could hear the ocean but could not see it. However, walking or driving to a beach access was very easy. I would skip membership to the BHI club. They cater so heavily toward full time members I thought it was a waste of $. The beach is too beautiful to sit at the pool. Don’t skip Drinks at Jules and bevy’s and pizza at Wisp. Check out jailhouse too. Remember to take as much over in plastic bins as the grocery store is some what limited and pricy. Have all the fun on this special island!

Memorial Day Vacation

This is a great family beach home. The property owners are very easy to communicate with and responsive to our questions. The house is extraordinarily well equipped, and was spotless when we arrived. The home accommodates a large family with multiple bedroom and great gathering room and large kitchen.

Amazing spring break at the Hatchlings House!

We had the BEST time at BHI at the Hatchlings House. Sharon and Jim were such amazing hosts, checking in multiple times to make sure we had everything we needed. We were particularly impressed with the stocked kitchen, game closet, beach toys, bikes, and vacation supplies. Truly, it has everything you could ever need in a vacation home. We had four kids between our families, and they enjoyed the room downstairs with the bunk beds. I also appreciated all of the extra special touches they accommodated for our dog Yoshi, including the cute doggy towel. Would not hesitate to recommend this house to any new or seasoned BHI traveler!

Girlfriend get away

This house was everything we needed for a high school girlfriend getaway. The kitchen was fully stocked and the house is adorable inside. We loved all the beach decorations. We enjoyed exploring the island and having multiple golf carts. The fall weather was perfect for walks on the beach.

Wonderful Home

The house and hospitality of Sharon did not stop to amaze us for the duration of our stay at this wonderful house. From the welcome bag with goodies and waters, to the comfortable beds, well stocked kitchen and supplies, to toys, books and bicycles galore. We could not have asked for a better place to stay and after 10 years coming to the island, this house was hands down our favorite! Sharon, thanks for all you did to make our vacation amazing.

Fall Break Trip

Despite some sketchy weather early on, we had a wonderful visit to BHI. The house was a perfect fit with plenty of room for our family and the Lightbourne's could not have been more accommodating to ensure a great experience. We will definitely be back!

Wonderful family vacation

We had a large group with adults and young kids/infants and we absolutely loved the house. Everything was clean and extremely well stocked as advertised. We loved the bikes and sand toys/beach chairs for everyone. It was so helpful having 3 golf carts. Location was awesome and very close to the market and beach access. BHI 2023 FAMILY VACATION

Wonderful House

BHI vacation at Hatchling House

We found the house very accommodating for our adult family. The kitchen was well stocked for cooking. Bikes, kayaks and beach supplies were enjoyed. First time for some to see a loggerhead turtle lay eggs.

Beautiful Home!

We had the best week at the Hatchling house. It was well stocked with plenty of kitchen items, kids toys/equipment & beach supplies (chairs, bikes, sand toys, etc). It is very close to beach access & market/shops. We will definitely be coming back! Thank you for a great week!

Jim's parents lived on the island for years. His parents were very involved with the island conservancy. Malcolm was an artist and the house is named after his painting 'The Hatchlings' which hangs at the BHI Conservancy. Our daughter was married on BHI and our son proposed to his fiancee on BHI. Bald Head has been a wonderful summer vacation spot for our extended family for years. We hope to continue this tradition for many years to come. We are so excited to have bought this home in summer 2013.

As soon as we saw this house, we knew it was the perfect home for our family, with a great location on the island. The large open living area is a wonderful space for family gatherings. This area is enhanced by the easy access to the large porch. The upper level porch has dining and seating areas. The lower level porch offers shade.

O que faz essa propriedade ser única?

Built in 1974, this is one of the 17 'generator' generation homes built on BHI. It has been beautifully updated while keeping it's original charm. The vaulted ceiling in the open living room gives the home a spacious feeling. It is conservatively decorated with fun beach accents.The bright blue, red, and white colors are lovely. The home is located on a cul-de-sac lane, just a short walk to the beach. Evenings on the porch are spectacular.
