Fabulous Weekend

Such a beautiful home! We were there as a group of 7 girlfriends. The space was perfect, kitchen wonderfully stocked, and situated in a relaxing enclave of Edgartown. We hope to be back!

Secluded get away

We really enjoyed our time here. Martha's Vineyard is fabulous and this is a great place to stay if you want quiet, cozy and in the woods. The path that it is on is a narrow dirt road through thick woods about 1 mile off the main road to Edgartown. The home itself is charming, rustic and all around very pleasant.

Friends getaway

The property was just lovely. And Nancy was helpful when we required early access to the property. We were able to leave luggage and continue our day. The house is comfortable and the deck is great for morning coffee. Great placebto connect with friends and relax.

Peaceful Retreat

Nancy's house was a peaceful and lovely gem hidden away in Edgartown. It was comfortable and spacious, and great for our family visit.

Awesome...

Beautiful quality built residence at the end of a narrow road . Loved the skylight in my bedroom directly over the bed. I have never seen so many stars. Saw a deer in the trees lining the backyard area. On the island the hardest thing to get acclimated to was the lack of street signs and inaccurate GPS. But we survived well and absolutely enjoyed everything about the area. We did an island tour in a 12 passenger van that was absolutely wonderful.

So Perfect! Cozy & Comfortable

Loved this property. We’ve stayed in many VRBO’s but this one was extra special. Very cozy, well stocked, beautiful property, comfortable accommodations, fun art work, large bedrooms, great outdoor seating areas. We stayed with family and our two year old while in town for a wedding. Our toddler loved running around the property. It was a good location to explore Martha’s Vineyard and a great place to come back to after a long day. The only “con” was that it was about half a mile down a narrow dirt road, so not walkable (with a toddler) to town and harder to find at night (but the GPS worked great helping us locate). Would definitely look forward to coming back again soon!!

A wonderful hidden gem!

A wonderful hidden gem! My sister and her family had a fantastic first trip to the Vineyard! It was very close to downtown Edgartown and state beach, however you had the privacy of a country home. Mini split air conditioning units in majority of the rooms. A lot of natural light and automatic skylight operation. A beautiful kitchen, very roomy and accommodating. I will definitely recommend! Thank you for making my sister’s first trip to the Vineyard memorable!

Great spot on the Vineyard

Nancy's house is a real gem. Right outside of downtown Edgartown in a very secluded and peaceful spot. 10-minute drive or less to everywhere you want to go. The house is architecturally interesting and the grounds are beautifully kept. After spending time in some very sterile rental properties lately, it was refreshing to be in a vacation home that is well cared-for and homey. I definitely hope to stay here again.

Island Vacation

We traveled to the vineyard for a family wedding in Edgartown! We had family staying all over Edgartown and we loved this place it was close enough but also a perfect location to get away for a second and relax. There is a trail right behind the house that we enjoyed and we biked a lot! The house was perfect and equipped with everything you needed. Nancy was very helpful and would love to stay here again when we make the trip back to the vineyard!

Beautiful home

The house is beautiful and the owner, Nancy was very responsive. The cleaning crew has not done a great job, however. They locked the front door, but the check in instructions said it would be unlocked. They failed to leave linens for two of the beds and forgot to leave soap. They did remedy that situation within a few hours once we spoke to Nancy. Also, there were some crumbs on the dining table. Having said all of this, it’sa great house, Nancy is very responsive and we had a wonderful time!

Lovely Stay in MV

Had a lovely stay in this little hideaway in Edgartown for two weeks. It was very clean and comfortable. The owners were wonderful and helpful. Most of the time, we were four adults. When we were six adults, it was a little tight. My only complaint is that this house is listed as a four bedroom with a king, queen, two twin and king pullout couch. It is actually a three bedroom….the queen is a double bed and the pullout couch is a queen.

Perfect Property

This is a great vacation house - quiet, secluded, yet only a few minutes outside of Edgartown. House was extremely well equipped, super-clean, and with a lovely big garden. Extra amenities like a hot outdoor shower and very modern appliances added to the luxury. Would recommend and revisit every time!

Great post & beam woodland retreat

Great home and property for our family of six to enjoy our vacation in MV. We loved using the outdoor shower after a day at the beach. The house is located at the end of a long dirt road which was very private and secluded with a short drive to State beach and downtown Edgartown. The house had tons of natural light pouring through the many windows and open floor plan. The amenities we enjoyed; AC, washer/dryer work well, bedrooms were very comfortable, use of beach chairs was a plus and loved the post & beam construction. We had a minor incident upon check-in that was resolved promptly and to our satisfaction by Nancy the property owner. This property is the perfect private retreat with easy access to the beach and town.

Beautiful home

This home offers the best of both worlds -- a lovely peaceful setting, yet close to everything a vacationer could want -- beaches, grocery store, bike shop, restaurants. The home is well-maintained and comes with all the conveniences, and the owner (Nancy) is very accommodating. I highly recommend it.

Great home tucked away but near everything!

We had an amazing week at this house. Nancy was so easy to work with. We loved the fact that it was set back on a long road in the woods. It was peaceful and super quiet. While secluded, it was a super quick walk or bike ride to Edgartown center. The property had wonderful landscaping as well. Thanks Nancy!

A cabin in the woods

We had a great stay at this house. It was a great size and such a great perk with air conditioning. Just one thing is that you should bring your car if you stay at this house. Like most houses on the Island it is down a long dirt road. I loved it and am very active so I had no problem biking it, but if you go with a bigger crowd you might want to bring one car to get to and from places. The owners were welcoming and very available. Thank you.

Lovely home, lovely owner!!

My friends and I were visiting Martha’s Vineyard for the first time in July for a wedding. We were looking for a place that could comfortably accommodate a group of our size in a location that would allow us to easily explore some of what the island has to offer in between scheduled wedding events. Nancy’s home could not have been more perfect! The home itself was clean, cozy, and had everything we needed. Nancy was lovely— responsive and completely available throughout the booking process up to the end of our stay. We loved our time on the island and could not recommend Nancy’s home more highly :)

Family vacation in Edgartown

We just returned from a week at this lovely home in Edgartown. It was close enough to many of our favorite things to walk or ride bikes and stocked with everything we needed to enjoy a wonderful week in MV. Having the beach chairs, towels and linens provided was so helpful and the beds were extremely comfy! The home was very welcoming with lots of natural light and we especially liked the many games provided, the cozy hammock for relaxing and the new gas grill! The AC was a welcome addition as well since we had a week that was very hot and humid. The owner could not have been more helpful and responsive which made the whole process seamless. We look forward to returning when our future travel plans include another trip to the island!

We have vacationed on Martha's Vineyard with our Children for 25 years. We had stayed in different places on the island. When we decided to buy a property we knew we wanted to be in Edgartown, near South Beach and State Beach, the restaurants, the harbor. We also wanted be able to get away- to have a place that was peaceful and could offer us the opportunity to have a quiet retreat in this busy world. We both saw the house and realized due to its location we could have the "action" of Martha's Vineyard and also be in a relaxing, and peaceful place full of tranquility.

O que faz essa propriedade ser única?

The unique benefit is the location of the house. It is in Edgartown so you can walk or bike to town or bike to beaches, but when at the house you are in the middle of a forest retreat. You get the best of both worlds - you choose - Martha's Vineyard action or a peaceful, tranquil retreat.

In addition, it is peaceful because it is designated an Ancient Way. Pennywise Path is one of five pre-Colonial roads in Edgartown designated by the Island as an Ancient Way which recognizes its historic significance and sets guidelines on development of the roads. Historians believe that many of the ancient ways, built by settlers in the 17th and 18th centuries, were traced over cart paths and walkways previously established by the native Wampanoags. Today the ancient ways are available for recreational use such as walking, bicycling or horseback riding.
These ancient ways have guidelines set forth to maintain the ancient character including such things as prohibiting any enlargement or paving, removal of vegetation within 20 feet of their centerline or creation of fences, walls or other obstructions.
