Duck Unlimited is located in the very heart of Duck, North Carolina! This is not your typical beach home that is worn with years of rentals. This is our lovely, private home that has been designed, decorated and dutifully maintained for pure relaxation and enjoyment. We look forward to sharing it with you this summer!

Bring your family to Duck Unlimited where you can unwind, relax and play. Enjoy the pool, walk to town, play on the beach or just relax on the porch with a good book. Your children will enjoy our recreation room complete with a 27ā€ TV and Foosball table. Schooner Ridge has many fun activities for the children including a game room (arcade games, air hockey and a pool table just to name a few) and playground for the younger children. Adults enjoy the first-class fitness facility, tennis and racquetball courts. Schooner Ridge guests have private beach access (where is lifeguard is on duty throughout the summer) with a gazebo including a beach-side pool and hot tub. On the off-chance you have a rainy day during your vacation, everyone will enjoy the indoor pool in the recreation facility.

Our home is located in the fantastic subdivision of Schooner Ridge. This means you can walk up to Duck Donuts for coffee and donuts in the morning, walk to the boardwalk shops in the afternoon and even walk to one of Duckā€™s many fantastic restaurants for dinner in the evening. The only thing better than the walk to town is the very short walk to the beach. Places within a short walking distance of Duck Unlimited include:

Duck Unlimited is a non-smoking, non-pet home. This home is beautifully decorated and has enough beds to sleep 10. We rent only to families.

Duck Unlimited is available Sunday to Sunday with a check-in time of 1 P.M. To maximize your first day here (check-out is 9 a.M.).

We can also help you with babysitting needs, personal chef services and grocery shopping services. By ordering your groceries in advance, they will be in our home when you arrive and you can begin relaxing immediately instead of fighting the crowd at the grocery store. Just let us know if this is of interest to you.

What a wonderful vacation. This house is lovely. It was very clean and had everything we could ask for. The location is great. It is very close to the beach and near all the stores and restaurants. Leslie checked in with us to make sure all was well. This is definitely the best house I have stayed in my 4 trips to OBX

Great house and location

We enjoyed the location, easy walk between the beach and shops. House is very spacious allowing nice areas to get together and spaces to separate as wellā€”teens need their places away from parents. Place was very clean and looks to be taken care of. Owner also checked in early to ensure the place met our expect. All good!

It was a great week at the beach. Had all the amnesties we needed for a fun week at the beach. We had 8 of us and there was plenty of room. Short walk or bike ride to the beach and the club house. We loved having the hot tub and pool right at the house to use relax at night. We would definitely stay again.

Great neighborhood and location!

We had our annual family reunion here this year and truly enjoyed the stay. The house was nice, but the location really made the vacation. Loved the beach access, restaurants near by, and the amenities included especially the Schooner Ridge rec center and beach access. The only constructive feedback I have is adjusting the check in and check out time. Check in was 1pm, and check out was 9am. I understand most rental properties need a 4 hour gap for the cleaning crew... completely understandable. But we prefer a later check in and check out which most of our previous rentals had (I.e., check in 3pm, check out 11am). Just our personal preference when you have a large family scrambling to check out in the morning. Overall, a great stay that we highly recommend and would do it again!

Clean and spacious

We really enjoyed our stay here. Bedrooms were spacious and everything was exactly as described. The parking lot in schooners ridge for the beach access made the walk very short but it was also very reasonable from the house as well. Would recommend if looking for a private pool as we enjoyed that as well.

Great for families ..close to beach and boardwalk

This was a first visit to OBX for our family, and the house was even better in person! I would definitely book again. Our only hiccups were several spiders on ground level and a rusty grill but neither were deal breakers and easily fixed. Owner is super responsive and we had everything we needed for a great vacation!

Very Comfortable Home in Duck

We had 6 adults and 3 children. All of us could fit on the comfy, long sofa in the living room. There were plenty of TVs in the house, and a kitchen that was very well equipped. Augie should post a sign on the refrigerator to push the door shut, as it doesn't close on its own. A garbage disposal would be a nice addition! The bedrooms were spacious and the beds comfortable, and there were enough bathrooms for everyone. The pool was perfect for our three young children, ages 7, 4 and 4. It is completely fenced, and has a secure entrance. The home is in a great location, just up the street from the Community Center, and not much further to downtown Duck and its wonderful shops and eating places. My entire family loved this house!

Location, location, location

We absolutely loved our stay here. Place was spotless when we arrived. The pool area was great for the kids. And while we did utilize the community center, it was only a short (<5 min) walk from the house. Similarly, the beach was a short (<5 min) walk AND there was a member's only pool, bathroom, and outdoor shower so you could rinse off after spending the day in the sand and surf. The house is located right off the main street and there are numerous restaurants and shops in the immediate vicinity. There is a smallish market close by, but you'll need to drive ~15min to get to a large grocery store. Wonderful stay!

Perfect week at the beach

The house was exactly as described and provided for a great vacation for our family. The house was comfortable with enough space for us to gather comfortably on the main floor. The pool was a little smaller than I would have liked, but it worked and the beach is only a short walk from the house. The owners were very helpful pre-check-in and reached out to make sure everything was going well after check-in. I would definitely recommend the house to others.

Great week in Duck!

We had a wonderful week at Duck Unlimited. Our three year olds talked about how much they loved their ā€œvacation houseā€ all week. Great location - 3 minute walk to beach (pushing a wagon with 70 pounds of kids in it) and a 10 minute walk to the main road. The pool is great and gets sun the majority of the day. The kitchen is fully stocked and I love how guests ā€œpay it forwardā€ when they leave. Leslie reached out both before our trip and during the week to make sure we didnā€™t need anything. We highly recommend the property if youā€™re looking for a place to stay while youā€™re in Duck.

A Great Vacation Spot

The house is very nice and was very comfortable for our family of 10. It is in a great location - just a short walk to the beach or to the village shops and restaurants limiting the need to deal with the traffic on the main road on a daily basis. the neighborhood is very quiet and very safe. The house was clean and generally well maintained. We found the kitchen to be well stocked with dishes but some of the pots and pans were in poor condition. The first floor seemed to be quite damp especially in the bunk room. Other than those minor things, we really enjoyed everything about the house and our stay. We would definitely stay there again.

This is a true gem. Have stayed in OBX for the past 10 summers and this was one of the best places. Tons of kitchen supplies, great facilities in the community, very family friendly. Walk to beach was shorter than we anticipated. Walked into Duck several nights for ice cream. Great place.

It was a beautiful, but poorly kept house.

When we got there, the floors were sticky, there was mold on the ceiling downstairs, the AC intake vents were filthy, towels and pillows were stained and so were the blankets. One mattress cover had a brown stain. Not enough towels. The owner was responsive to our complaints and sent over multiple people on Monday to see to the AC, wash the dirty laundry (blankets), see to the sticky floors, and try to treat the mold. We found out that they only wash the blankets and comforters once at the beginning of the season (maybe thatā€™s standard, but it grossed us out). Very unsanitary. And there was garbage under the couch on the lower level. They donā€™t move the couches when they clean. As stated before, the house itself was nice and big. We just felt thrown off by the poor cleaning job and upkeep and the fact that the lower level was always moist and musty. Bad for people with asthma, as my son found out. Even the woman who came in to do the floors on Monday remarked on that fact and said she would pass it on to her boss. End of story, they ended up taking money from our security deposit because the cleaners said we didnā€™t leave the house in good shape. Really? The pool was nice. The hot tub worked and the town was walking distance from the house. Nice town. Nice, responsive owner. Nice gym. However, we might have been more comfortable in a different house.

Our stay at Duck Unlimited couldn't have been better. Augie is an excellent landlord/owner and was available and accommodating to us at every stage of the trip. The house is large, comfortable and clean. We had 6 adults and 2 children (3 years and 10 months) and we never felt crowded. The pictures on the website are accurate so there are no hidden surprises. My 3 sisters and their families were also renting in Duck and this house was able to fit all of us (24) for dinners with plenty of seating. The house is located close to Rt 12 so you can walk there easily, but you can also walk the opposite way to the beach. It was a bonus to have the Schooner Ridge pool by the ocean as well as our own private, clean pool since the baby needed to return from the beach for his naps in the afternoon. The kitchen was stocked fairly well with dishes, glasses, silverware, pots, pans etc, but definitely light on the small things such as plastic wrap, tin foil, spices etc. We brought and left wrap and foil as well as salt and pepper and some other items. We found a roll of toilet paper in each bathroom and also left extras. I love the "pay it forward" philosophy and hope more people continue to follow it. There are a number of decks surrounding the house, but my favorite was the upper deck which provided a great view and nice place to sit to have our morning coffee or drinks in the afternoon. We hit an extremely hot week so we never cooked on the gas grill so I can't comment on it's working condition, but I will say it is located on the ground level with the kitchen on the top (3rd) floor so it is quite a hike. We received our security deposit within 4 days of our departure and so appreciated that efficiency. I highly recommend renting Duck Unlimited from Augie - you will not be disappointed.

Great time in Duck!

We had a wonderful time staying at Duck Unlimited. It is in a convenient location. We were able to park our cars for the week and walk everywhere including into the restaurants, shops and beach. We loved having multiple pools available including at the house and beach. Having young kids, it was reassuring to have a lifeguard at our beach. The owner was available for any questions and always with a quick response. The house easily accommodated 3 family with 6 children 6 and under. I would definitely recommend this property.

The home was very clean with excellent accommodations!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this home. It was very clean and had all the accommodations we needed and more. We've rented 2 other homes in Duck before , but this one was our favorite! There were 6 adults and 2 children and we all had our own space with room to spare. The ONLY downfall of the home is that the grill is in the front of the home rather than by the pool. We enjoy grilling while being social but the layout didn't really allow that. However, that wasn't a big deal. The beach is a short walk away and the beach front pool is a wonderful plus. I also felt more comfortable having a lifeguard on duty. The water was rough due to an incoming storm and we witnessed 2 rescues in the same day. We would definitely rent this home again!

Great house with private pool and close proximity to beach and town of Duck

Our family of 12 had a great week staying at this home. it was a short walk to the beach (on pavement with little or no traffic) so we didn't have to go through sand and brush to get there. We were grateful to have the private pool because we could spend mornings at the beach and the afternoons at the pool. We had 3 little ones who still require naps, so they could sleep and the rest of us could enjoy the pool. The weather was great while we were there, so we did not use the gym or indoor pool, but it was nice knowing they were available had we experienced a rainy day. It was a slightly longer walk to the stores and restaurants in Duck, but certainly doable, even for our 6 and 7 year old kids.The kids loved the magic show and Duck donuts in town. The house was very clean and well maintained. The owner was very easy to reach and even called us the day after we arrived to make sure everything was going well. I only have 0ne minor complaint. When we arrived, after a long day in the car, we found only one roll of toilet paper for 5 bathrooms and a lack of supplies I'm usually used to finding in rental homes. I have rented 3 homes in 3 different locations in the last year, and all three supplied at least a day or two supply of toilet paper, paper towels, hand and dishwashing soap, salt and pepper, etc. Consequently, we had to make a run to Walmart immediately. Having never been to the Outer Banks before, maybe this is standard for rentals there. we would love to stay in this house again. We will just know to bring paper products and soap with us! The house itself was great; it was clean, had nice furnishings and everything worked. Kitchen supplies were satisfactory- all the cooking and eating supplies anyone would need. I recommend this house to anyone traveling to the Outer Banks. We loved the location because of the short distance to the beach and the town of Duck. I also appreciated the ease with which we could reach the owner and his willingness to make sure we were happy with the rental.

We love the location of our home - it is by far the best location in this area! We can walk to the beach and just as easily, we can walk into the town of Duck. In Duck, we can enjoy any number of great restaurants, shops, parks and even the boardwalk.

Our subdivision is fantastic - as a resident or guest of Schooner Ridge you have access to an oceanside pool as well as two other pools, a playground, tennis courts, racquetball, fitness facilities, game room and much more.

Our location and subdivision make Duck Unlimited one of the best beach houses in the area!
