This listing is for the upstairs Bay View unit. The upstairs unit is the primary rental and has the ocean view and the highest level of finish. A new added deck facing the ocean is the perfect place to watch the sunset every evcening. The upstairs has 1 bedroom and 1 bathroom. The upstairs unit is accessed by an exterior stairway.

Highly desirable Paia location. Half lot back from the ocean. Tucked away yet very near town center.

Paia Bay Suites is a two-story cottage built in 1987 and renovated in 2013. It is comprised of two separate suites, but only the upstairs is rented out as a vacation rental.

The upstairs is 528 sf with 1 bedroom, 1 full bathroom, kitchen and living/dining area, sleeps two guests. The Bay View Suite is accessed by an outside stairway.

The Bay View Suite features simple furnishings in keeping with a beach cottage atmosphere. It has a new Queen-sized bed in the bedroom, a fully remodeled full-size bathroom with walk-in shower, and a fully remodeled kitchen and a living/dining area.

There is a beautiful 8,500 square foot fenced yard and outdoor patio area. This yard will be shared with the downstairs unit which will be occupied by one retired person.

Parking is ample, off-street and fenced.

There is an outdoor shower for washing off sand from the beach, etc.

Paia Bay Suites is a new vacation rental offering in one of Paia’s most desirable locations. It sits on Loio Place, a side street which is oceanside of the highway yet is just a short stroll from the heart of Paia Town. It’s a great location for guests wanting to be close to Paia Town and the ocean.

Paia Town is an eclectic town with a mix of locals, surfers, New Agers, evangelical Christians, hippies, monied people, working folks, artists, snowbirds, Buddhists, and more. It was a rough plantation town that is now transitioning into Maui’s hippest beach town destination.

The property consists of a two-story cottage on a large fenced lot close to the ocean of Paia Bay (it is not oceanfront).

(Beware of unlicensed vacation rentals. Maui County is preparing enforcement operations against unlicensed operators which may include closures with limited warning to travelers. Paia Bay Suites is fully licensed and your booking with us is secure.)

We absolutely loved our third stay (and the first two, as well) at Paia Bay Suites! It is a sweet oasis of peace, from which to watch the crashing waves & soaring birds & butterflies. The views, comfort, walkability, and lovely special touches (flowers, filtered water in the fridge, etc) made it the perfect place for us. Thank you for creating this delightful home away from home!

A wonderful stay in Paia

This is the perfect location to stay in Paia - within walking distance of town, with a view of the ocean and the sound of birdsong. Margit and Terry are excellent hosts and very responsive. Highly recommended.

This gorgeous apartment was absolutely perfect in every way. Short walk to town, beautiful views of Paia Beach, clean and functional space, and a super comfortable bed with ocean breezes made for excellent sleep. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and would stay here again!

This perfect petite property has everything we could hope for. Peace and birdsong, waves and flowers, all perfectly showcased from the shaded, elevated deck. Great stay, quiet location, very short walk to Paia. Very easy check in, and fantastic communication with the host. Nice view of the ocean, washer and dryer came in handy, beach chairs and cooler was very convenient. We cannot think of 1 negative. If we ever go back to Maui will definitely stay here again.

There is a reason we come back to Paia Bay Suites every year - it provides a complete break from daily stresses. Walking distance to our favorite fish restaurant, surfing and for the runners out there wonderful routes along the coast and thru the sugar cane fields.

A week in paradise

Paia Bay Suites was just what we needed to celebrate our retirement. We were pleased with our accommodations and the setting. Margit was a wonderful host. Her quick responses and suggestions for activities and exploring the island were very helpful. Paia is a lovely town with some of the best food on the island.

Perfect blend of peaceful and lively

What a beautiful cottage, beautifully situated! On one side, rural sunrises over the fields, on the other, ocean waves and distant mountains. And a short walk to the fun bustle of Pa’ia. Clean and fresh inside, and the flowers on the table were a thoughtful and gorgeous touch. Thank you for providing such a lovely spot for a refreshing vacation!

It is a nice house with enough space for 4 people. The location allows to walk to all things to do in Paia - we liked to avoid going with the car! A little suggestion for improve: the moskito screen door could be improved.

Everything about our stay was fantastic. Paia is a laid back town with great restaurants and beaches within walking distance. Margit was great to work with and very responsive. The condo is on a secondary road, very private and quiet, with only the sound of the ocean. The grounds are beautiful. We hope to be staying there next year!

Cozy Stay in Paia

This was my 7th trip back to Maui, and my husband many more than that. This was the smallest rental we’ve had, but by far our most favorite! It is charming, cozy, has the perfect location for walking into town, and a killer view! We felt like we had everything we could possibly need for our stay. The property manager was also very helpful and was very prompt with any communication. We usually come to Maui every year, and we hope to return to this little gem. Thank you!

Location is Incredible!!!

We rented a car, but I wish we had use Uber. Everything we enjoy is walkable. Downtown is full of Boutiques, Groceries and Coffee, plus lots of dining places. Breaches are walking distance. The ambience of living in the trees, with the filtered lighting is special. We didn't get rain, but we've been there in the rain, and it is magical. Short walk to the end of the Bay for spectacular Sunsets.

A little piece of Paradise

My Wife and I loved our stay and our so happy we chose it. The apartment had everything we needed and was so convenient for walking in to town for food/drinks or shopping. Our favourite place to eat was Paia Bay Coffee lovely food and different entertainment daily, Saturday Jazz brunch probably our favourite 11-13. We enjoyed sitting on the Lanai watching the cute little birds and bought some extras seed as they went through it so quickly. You can see the Ocean and the surf breaking through the trees and the mountains. Paia is a cute town and a great base to explore Maui. Already planning our return we loved it.

Magical Hideaway for the Island Adventurer

Everybody has a different experience in mind for their vacation. This wonderful little hideaway was our ideal experience (a family of 3). We are not resort people and like to explore places on our own terms. The apartment had everything we needed and much care went into making the space warm and inviting. We loved being able to walk to the market and shops. The beach was a short skip and a hop. This was a perfect place to land and launch from for our own adventures about the island. Sincerest thanks to the owners for making this space available, it was magical and we were grateful to be there.

The property is owned by brother and sister Jake and Ilana Waxman. Jake and Ilana were both born and raised here on Maui and grew up on Maui's North Shore.

Por que o anfitrião escolheu essa propriedade

The property was purchased as vacant land in 1977 by Jake and Ilana's late father, Maui surfer and attorney Jonathan Waxman. Jonathan bought the lot because of its great location being so close to the shore yet an easy stroll to Paia Town. He built the house in 1987.

O que faz essa propriedade ser única?

Paia Bay Suites is situated on Loio Place, one of the very few roads in Paia Town that are ocean side of the main road (Hana Hwy). The Paia Bay Suites are on an 8,000 square foot fenced lot which provides plenty of off street fenced parking and a very large yard.

The Paia Bay Suites are in a great location that is easy walking distance to the beaches of Paia and just a short stroll from Paia Town's shopping and dining.

Yet the property is tucked away from the bustle of Paia Town and has a large, green yard sheltered by shade and shower trees. It's a great place to come back to after a day of being in the ocean or exploring Maui. You can take a shower to wash off the salt and then walk to Paia Town for dinner and stroll home to watch the stars and the ocean from the deck.

Please note that Paia Bay Suites is NOT oceanfront. It is separated from the Paia Bay shoreline by a 6' wall. This is a benefit that is obvious to locals and becomes more apparent the more time one spends in Paia as it keeps the property secluded from the busy Paia Bay beach scene. Our guests do what almost all the Paia locals do anyway: stroll over to the beach.
